Hi everybody!

This isn't THAT great, it didn't come out perfect, but I'm still happy with it. I made it for another Disney (Mickey) obsessed co-worker of mine to stick on her desk or in her room at work.

I haven't done any other embellishing on it yet...any ideas?? I thought about doing white "stitching" around the edges of the letters but I'm so afraid to mess it up I'm scared to just pull the trigger and do something.

What do you all think?

I LOVE it!! I don't have the Design Studio yet--it intimidates me! That is awesome, though, and I know your friend will love it!! :)

That is very cute! I would want a Mickey made out of the O in my first name. ;)

Awesome! I have the trial version but haven't done much playing around with it yet. It's nice to see what's someone else has been able to do with it. TFS.

You are definitely not helping me with my efforts to stay on the wagon. I love that and it makes me want to buy a cricut!:teeth: Fabulous job!:thumbsup2

That is adorable! I got the Design Studio for Christmas but I don't have a computer in my scrap area to put it on....yet.

That looks so great!!!

I got one for xmas too, just haven't been able to play yet :guilty:

That is soooo awesome...I really had a hard time trying to figure out how to do the shadowing...how did you do it????

I used a modified form of a tutorial I saw for making shadows.

You create your image, then right click in the mat and change Untitled to a different name.

Then create a second page (click the new button on the left) and rename it as well. click preview, and in the "view" dropdown menu make sure that the keep preview as background (or whatever it's called) is selected. From there, just start creating your shadow.

When you go to do your cuts, you will have 2 seperate sheets to print, Or, if it's all one object (mine was many due to the mickey heads), you can just drag it down off of the original image and print both together side by side.

I guess that little tute there is sorta cruddy. Here's a link if you're way confused:

it's under the title "welded shadows".

Happy designing! ;)

I saw the Design Studio at Walmart for the first time the other day - went to the Cricut website right away to find out more about it and it's not there! No mention of it at all! Anyway, my main question is, Can you use it on both models of Cricuts, or is it only for the newer 24" model? :confused3

It's for use with both Cricuts. ;) You can design on any of the 3 mat sizes at any time and change the mat size, even while in the middle of a design! It's great.

I think there is mention of it somewhere (the message boards have a lot of info and a section all its own). Also, Some people have had issues installing it with Vista. There's weird things you have to do to make it work correctly.

If you choose to get it, let me know, I can help you out. I love the program. I will say though, that it doesn't work like a traditional "Windows" program. There are many shortcut buttons that just aren't there and others that are different from what a Windows program might do. Finally, it will not run on a Mac computer unless you have that program thingie that runs Windows.

Good luck!
