Ok, so obviously we are going to Disney World! Please bear with me, after weeks and weeks of lurking and then some tentative posts, I "think" I have the idea here!

Meet our family: Me: (Angela, Angie, Ang, Take your pick) This pic was taken the day the SAINTS WON THE SUPERBOWL! WHO DAT!!??

My DH: Chris; No, he's not angry. He always looks like that. :lmao:

My stepson and his GF: Jacob and Deshea:

In 2008, a year after I met my DH, I begged him to take me to Disney World, as I hadn't been since 2006. He agreed, and we booked Thanksgiving week at All Star Movies. My tax refund that year was a bit bigger, so we upgraded to Caribbean Beach, and fell in LOVE.

So, I'll tell y'all about how this trip came to be. Normally, my DH and I go to Tennessee every year for our anniversary. We were married there on Valentine's day in 2009, on a mountaintop in Pigeon Forge.

Now, DH is not the Disney nut that I am. He likes it fine, but prefers the serenity and slow pace (and price) of the Smoky Mountains. So this year, we were planning our next SM trip, and he said, out of the blue, "I bet you would like to go back to Disney instead, wouldn't you?:  Had I been driving, I would have wrecked. OF COURSE I perfer to go back to Disney World! And so the idea was born.

Stay tuned for more.. and forgive me if this PTR reads badly, I'm using this as practice for my Trip Report when we come home!

Okay, no takers. I'll continue anyway, just in case! ;)

So I started looking at DW's website (I hadn't heard of this site yet :scared1:), and was torn between CB, which we know we love, and choosing to stay somewhere different this time. I stayed in CSR back in 1999, and really didn't love the theming. We then considered POR, but being from New Orleans, didn't know if that would be overkill. A few days later, we decided that since Jacob was off for the Thanksgiving holiday, we would see if he wanted to go along. Of course he did! Then we invited his GF, if her parents would spring for her tickets, we would do the room and food. She was THRILLED. Come to find out, she is a Disney World Addict too!

I asked for her opinion and she had never stayed mod, only value, so CBR it was! She became my little co-planner/conspirator! So we booked the package for the four of us. That afternoon, I got a pin code for free dining! I called and asked if they had availibility for our resort and dates, they DID! :woohoo:

I have never done the Dining Plan before, so I didn't really know what to expect. I didn't know about ADR's and how to use credits or anything. (Thanks DISBoards!) Now, DH has a co-worker who goes to DW at least twice a year, they do 10 days, plus DDxP, so he had a TON of suggestions for TS places for us to try!

Up next... Where are we eating?

I am thinking of posting my "First Trip Report" of my first trip and thought I would take a peek at yours. You have a cute family. :)

Thanks for reading! :worship: I'm so happy somebody actually commented! I'll put up our ADR info later today!

I came over from Connie's (longing2Batdisney) TR. I'm subscribing! popcorn::

Hi! Angela
I'm back! great start!!!! when you guys go this go round go and give POR and POFQ a visit. We have been doing values our last two trips but we are looking forward to a mod stay again, soon. I want to give CBR a try, but, DH loves POFQ. He says that is what he wishes the French Quarter here would be like and it is a very quaint quiet resort.

How exciting to have the free dining deal...we have not done the DDP. We figure we are not there to eat (being from N.O.) and I usually find a cheaper way to go (have yet to go during Free Dining--was hoping to talk DH into a trip this coming year and giving it a try).

I cannot wait to hear all your plans and plan along with you guys...:mickeyjum
:wave2: Connie

BTW: you should put your link in your siggie
just copy and paste your link or if you want to do it the way I have mine
you place your cursor in your siggie where you would it to appear

Hey Angela, Angie, Ang. Hey, you said take my pick and I didn't know which one I liked better.:lmao:

I'm from Louisiana too. We live in West Monroe. Oh, and we're CBR lovers all the way. Can't wait to go back next May.

We took a trip to the Smoky Mountains a couple of months back and I can see why your hubby loves it so.

Looking forward to reading more.

Ok, I KNOW this is retarded, but I got a lil misty-eyed when I read all y'all's comments! Thanks so much for reading!

This past weekend, Deshea and I made cast member appreciation cards. Office Depot had these tiny multi-colored index card things on clearance. They are only about 2" x 2", we printed THANK YOU! on one side, and put FROM THE OXFORD FAMILY on the other side, and added stickers and decorations to them. I think that sometimes CM's go out of their way to make your visit magical, so we will all carry a few in our pockets to give out to those EXTRA SPECIAL CM's!

In the middle of a huge work (:scared1:) project, so will write more this afternoon! I can't understand why they want me to work, when I could be DISNEY PLANNING! :rotfl2:

Will DEF go to POR, I'm just a TEENY bit sorry we didn't choose that one, just between you and me!

Ok, I'm going to give that a try! Linking, oh boy!

Joining in (saw you on Connie's tr). Great start. We stayed at CBR in April and are staying at POR in just over 4 weeks. Will have to let you know what I think. By the way, we live in Denham Springs, another louisianian here. Can't wait to see the ADR's you have picked out!

Hey Ashley, WELCOME!

My DH lived in Denham before I met him and moved him down here with me! And let me add, y'all's town is beautiful! I always tell DH how CLEAN it is! Thanks for reading!

Ok, so my DH's friend at work had some suggestions, and this was before I found the DISboards, so I took them! He suggested Ohana, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, and Coral Reef. I booked all except Le Cellier, but only because I couldn't get it. :sad2:

I also picked SciFi, at the recommendation of another friend, Chef Mickey's because it's Deshea's fave, and Rainforest (OOP) because that was the only TS meal my DH and I ate last time in 2008 and he STILL talks about the lava nachos!

So here is the list:
Saturday - arrival day - 11am at Chef Mickey's, then Rainforest for dinner.
Sunday - Some CS for lunch, then 8:30 at Ohana. We are very excited about this one, despite somewhat mixed experiences from DISers.
Monday - Lunch at Coral Reef, CS for dinner.
Tuesday - Lunch at SciFi, CS for dinner.
Wednesday - Dinner at Chefs for myself and DH only, the kids will pick their own dinner that night.
Thursday - Departure Day :sad2:

If anyone has suggestions for their favorite CS places in each park, I'd LOVE to hear them!

Hey Ang (I picked this one because it's easiest to type), I'm currently trying my luck at my first pre-trip report so i came over to offer you my support! Love your plans so far and can't wait to hear more! My suggestions for CS meals at each park are:

MK: Columbia Harbour house, Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, Pesco Bills
Ep: Sunshine Seasons, Lotus blossom Cafe
AK: FLAME TREE BARBEQUE, Yak 'n' Yeti CS
HS: eh, haven't really found anything amazing here personally but like Toy Story Pizza Planet for theme

Also, did you say when you were going? I'm assuming Feburary for you anniversary but I might have missed it...?

Hellooooooo!

I'm joining in too. We Louisiana people have to stick together.

The only moderate we've stayed at so far was POFQ. We went over Mardi Gras this year. It was the perfect place to be after the Saints wining the Super Bowl and being there for Mardi Gras.

Favorite CS

MK-Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Rays (love eating with the lounge lizard) & Pecos Bills.

Epcot-Sunshine Seasons

DHS-don't have one but I keep reading about Starring Rolls

AK-it use to Tusker House before they changed it to a TS. I'll have to go with Pizzafari or Flame Tree BBQ

Oops, I guess that is kind of important.. We are leaving here on 11/19, after work, driving all night, and hopefully getting there at about 8am! Leaving to come home on Thanksgiving day, whenever we feel like heading out...

I've had Pecos Bill's, we'll do that again, I def have FTBBQ on my list, EVERYONE seems to love those, making notes about the others! Thanks!~
