My first attempt at a pre-trip report...

I am subing.... Can't wait for more... popcorn::popcorn::

PS-Great wedding photo....

Thank you so much! It's my favorite. I have it blown up and framed in our living room and a ton of people have asked me if the background is one of those pull down types photographers use! It was actually raining and 19 degrees that day, so you can imagine I was freezing and didn't take many pics outside. Being a southern Louisiana gal, 19 degrees was the coldest I had EVER encountered!

Some of our plans;

This is Jacob's first time to DW (Yes, I was shocked too!), so there are a few things we absolutely do not want to miss. We think he would enjoy Fantasmic, obviously all the "thrill" rides, any other suggestions for a teenage first timer? I've also never seen Wishes (gasp!) so that's another must do!

Yesterday, I upgraded to a preferred room. Last time we were in Jamaica 42, which was a nice walk, but I'd just like to see if being closer is worth the extra $150ish. Plus we are trying to squeeze ALOT of park time into this trip, bc of Jacob, so lets minimize the traveling time, right?? :woohoo:

I'll ask Dayne to make Jacob a list of must do's; it was Luke's first time, too this past April and Dayne was sure to catch all the must do's. It was so funny, Dayne and Gwendolyn made sure to hype up Small World this year and last (last year was Joe's first time):rotfl2:

Yes, Fantasmic and Wishes are must do's!!! Luke said Fantasmic was the best part of his trip!! and for some crazy reason I always tear up during Wishes (I love the music)

:wave2: Connie

That would be soooo helpful! My own son (who sadly can't come this trip), is nine, and I'm way more familiar with what HE likes, than the 17 year old!

Hello! I'm joining too! Looks to be an exciting trip! I like your choices for ADR's. I really like Columbia Harbor house too at MK. And Cosmic Rays. We have done the dining plan the last 3 trips and just love it!
I am trying to convince my DH that we should be going in Dec. He is still iffy about that.
Can't wait to hear more!

Angela,
our favorite CS places
MK~ Cosmic Rays & Pecos Bills--CR is my fav
AK~ Flame Tree BBQ
Epcot~ we like Sunshine Season for the food choices
DHS~ mom & dad really enjoyed; Sunset Ranch Market~Fairfax Fare/said the BBq was better than Flame Tree
we also enjoy the selections at the resorts for CS~ POFQ was great; ASSp was good as was the POP. so I am sure CBR has good CS offerings too.

As far as teenagers go, you've got it pretty much covered with thrill rides. Does he like video games? If so you can find at least one in each park and of course at your resort. My oldest always found the video games. How is he at waking up early? That can be a problem with teenagers too.

I'm here!! How exciting that your DH randomly suggested a Disney trip! And how great that your DS' GF is a Disney nut! :yay:

As for park CS'...
MK - We love Casey's and Pecos Bills has been really good both times we've done it.
AK - I hear Flame Tree is very good (except the beans!), but we haven't tried it. We had a nice meal at Restaurantosaurs this past trip, plus it's air conditioned and has free re-fills on the drinks.
Epcot - So many good ones! Morocco is really good, and Sunshine Seasons has a big variety which is nice.
DHS - Starring Rolls is the best IMO, big 'ol sandwich, chips, drink and a fancy yummy dessert for a credit. :thumbsup2 We usually end up at Pizza Planet though, and we do like it, but it only gets meh reviews from most people.

We have done 'Ohana once and I ate myself SILLY! So stinkin' good, I hope you guys like it!

Hi, found your PTR through Connie's TR. I am also from southern Louisiana, Lafourche Parish. Great start.

My favs:
MK: Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
HS: haven't found one that I really like
AK: Flame Tree BBQ

can't wait to read more.

I'm staying at POP 2/28-3/7 & have no clue where to start w/ the planning!! I don't know which park to do the first day! Ahhh..so much planning to do!

Hi, Angela,
Another Louisianan here, from Baton Rouge. Congratulations on starting your first PTR. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to it and your TR. I think that week will be a great time to go, and you will enjoy the meal plan. My only issue with it is that the time it takes to eat all those meals takes away from park time! I agree with the CS suggestions so far. Pecos Bill is my all time fav in MK, but a lot of people like Columbia Harbour House. In Epcot, there are so many good choices, but Sunshine Seasons offers something for everyone in one place.

I'm really looking forward to Ohana.. and I do believe SR is going to make it.. I love sandwiches, esp diff ones from what we have at home!

If you love sandwiches you have to go to Earl of Sandwich at DTD...I am not a sandwich eater and I love their BBq chicken and their club. DS4 loves every soup he has tried there (me too, you know I have to try his) and this last time DH and I split a sandwich and salad....don't know what it is about this place but I really like it!!! It is a CS meal and Wolfgang puck CS is just next door (they too have great food).

Hope you are having a great day!

DH has agreed, and is even excited, to go back to DW in October 2011! We will take my DS9, well, he'll be 10 at that time! I'm so excited to have another trip in the works before we even go on this one!

Now, if they do free dining again, we'll be all set!

Guys, we LOVE food. Like, above most other things. :worship:
One of our favorite things to do is to stay home on the weekends, have people over and COOK COOK COOK! So FREE dining was a huge blessing to me! I had been planning on bringing cereal and poptarts and sandwich making, etc.. and now.. I don't have to.

Ahhhhh.. life is good. :thumbsup2

If you really want to be close to Old Port Royale, then you'll be happy with a preferred location. When you get ready to make your requests, I'd suggest requesting Martinique 26. When we stayed in that building, our walk to Old Port Royale was about 2 minutes, if that.

Life is most certainly good for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed that they offer free dining for your travel times.

Ok! I'm glad I did, then. I have problems with my knees (degeneration), but it's not bad enough to keep me from touring Disneyworld! :cool1: Seriously though, it is a good idea for me to minimize the walking where possible. We also do parks in the am, rest in afternoon, then back to parks for evenings!
