My first attempt at a pre-trip report...

sounds like a great plan for the day...
make it a later morning ride and see what is of interest; this is normally a 1/2 day park or should I say 3/4 day park. We love Fantasmic! Luke (Dayne's friend) said that was the best part of his entire trip.
Have a great evening! :wave2: Connie
BTW: if you want to see the characters here go through the shop at the Animation bldg and you can skip the movie and tour (although you guys may enjoy the entire walk through).

I think DHS is my least favorite park. There are so many things I really don't care for there, but I still like to go for at least part of the day. I AM looking forward to Osborne lights though if we go in Dec. I have yet to do F! though.

I think I would have to say it's my least fave too. Other than the Muppets and Fantasmic, of course. I don't love the two "thrill" rides, but RnRc is one of Chris's faves. When are you going back?? You have to see Fantasmic! It's... well.... Fantastic! :lmao:

I agree with Luke about F!... we waited about 1.5 hours the first time we saw it, and it was WELL worth it! Chris bought me a little throw blanket from one of the vendors, and we sat under it (it was cold that night) and shared popcorn popcorn:: and did the wave a MILLION times while waiting for the show! There was a lady sitting next to us who was visiting with just her and her 4yo son, so we made friends with them. You could tell she was in need of some adult conversation!

And, GOOD MORNING! :flower3:

Man, I took a few days off from the DIS and I missed two updates... Well, I made notes to make up for it :lmao:.

Epcot: I've been to Coral Reef twice. The first time, I ordered the Prime Rib and well it left quite a bit to be desired... But, the second time I went I got the BBQ Salmon sandwich. I am NOT a fish person, don't really like it and basically never eat it but I figured I'd try it. Well it was yummy! Make sure you specify how it's cooked though because some restaurant serve it a lil on the rare side which I think is really gross... Second, if you want to do Kim Poosible, you should! We did it in March 2009 so the youngest person in our group was 22 (me). We did the Norway challenge and I still thought it was fun even without kids in the group!

Hollywood Studios:

Are you not going to do Toy Story Mania????? I have to absolutely recommend that you add this to your plans!!!!! It's one of my favorites and so much fun. However, I would get a Fast Pass for it. Maybe even before ToT and RnR because they go faster. In fact, I've found that if we go get FP for TSM and then head to RnR and ToT the stand-by lines are still pretty short for them.

I like your plans for both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We have eaten dinner at Coral Reef three years in a row and have enjoyed it each and every time. I always order the steak. John used to order the blackened catfish but it's not on the menu any more.

As far as the Sci-Fi goes, I'd suggest ordering the burger. It's pretty darn good. For us, we enjoy the Sci-Fi more for the atmosphere than the food.

Glad you're back!
Ok, I'm totally going to do the KP mission now!
I'll prob get the regular steak at CR, just bc it looks like the safest thing. The hubs says he's going to get stuff that he hasn't tried before, and if it's nasty, he'll eat my "normal" food. I can see there will be some tussles over this!

Oops! Forgot TSM! So I'll get a FP for that first, and then try to get the kids on Tot and RnR.... so many plans... so little time... Wish we had more than 5.5 days! :)

I'm with you on the steak idea. It seems safe to me!

I agree with the atmosphere thing. We are doing SciFi and CR, just for that, and bc we got free dining. I've never had a dining plan before, nor have I ever eaten at any TS resturant on property, other than Rainforest Cafe. So I tried to pick some that the atmosphere was more the point than the food. We are also doing 'Ohana for the same reason. On a happy note, I LOVE BURGERS, so Sci-Fi burger it is!

Okay.. so we'll try to get back to MK after our 5pm rainforest dinner, to watch it up close.. then Sunday after Ohana, we'll catch it from the beach? Oh the joy of planning! :rotfl:

 Oh so true! You might make it, but you might not - don't want you to end up disappointed!

We have ressies at Coral Reef at 11:35. I've heard that the food is less than spectacular, however, I love fish and aquariums, so we booked it. Deshea in particular is excited about this one.

Also, I really want to do a KimPossible mission, even tho we are going to all be 17 and older. Is this silly for a grown woman of 33? :confused3

We've never done Coral Reef, but I do see quite a few positive reviews on it. It seems really hit or miss! I think I recall the steak being good from other reports.

As for KP, Nope, not silly at all! GO FOR IT! :thumbsup2

Today we have lunch ressies at Sci-Fi Dine in.. another one that gets mixed reviews, but I'm looking forward to based on the atmosphere, and I think the kids will really enjoy it. I've never been to an actual drive-in theater, sooo.... I'm kinda excited. Our ressies are at 11:30, which is probably the earliest lunch seating?

This is a short list... what am I forgetting?
OH! I'd like to find the singing in the rain umbrella, for a photo op, of course!

Who knows if you'll stick to the plans or not - it's fun to make them and just have a guidelines anyway! :goodvibes

Sci-Fi - cheeseburger and onion rings and a shake. You won't be disappointed! Very good. The service can be slooooooooooow, but the atmosphere is very fun.

The umbrella is very fun! It's not on the "main street" of the area, kinda back around a corner. If you can't find it, ask a CM! :thumbsup2

As for what you are forgetting, TSM!! Everyone will enjoy it!!!!

Ok, so everyone keeps telling me to do TSM! I see from the boards that it's HUGELY popular and fun, but can anyone tell me what it is.. exactly? As in what it does??

Thanks in advance!

Toy Story Mania
it is a 4D carnival type ride...
you ride through (like Buzz Lightyear at MK) the car spins from screen to screen and you shot at the targets some will blow air when you hit and so on...
IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!!! EVERYONE LOVES IT!!! it is a must do attraction...the standby time is usually in the 100's ...if you get to the park for rope drop you need to send your fastest walker over with all the tickets to get in line forthe FP's they are normally gone about two three hours after the park opens.
Most people will than have their group meet them there ride the attraction in the standby line (which in itself is a large part of the attraction!!) than move your way over to ToT and RnRC for FP's there you can normally get a FP for one and ride the other standby...if the standby is a long line RnRC does have a single rider line...you will not get to ride together with your party but it is alot quicker to get through that way...
go to you tube and type in Toy STory Mania and they should have a ride through

I'm attempting at making PTR this is definetly a "rough draft" I'm a newbie at this so bare with me!

Arrive at MCO 2/28 at 9:45 am staying at POP ADR at Le Cellier 2:50pm.

3/1 ADR at Crystal Palace 11:45 lunch. Stay at MK for the afternoon.
ADR at 50's Prime Time 6:40pm, HS for the night.

3/2 QS breakfast at the hotel. Via Napoli ADR at 4:30, boyfriend's birthday! Epcot for the night.

3/3 QS breakfast at hotel. Universal for the day/DTD at night. ADR at Planet Hollywood at 8pm.

3/4 AK in the morning & QS lunch. Epcot for the night, QS for dinner.

3/5 unsure.

3/6 H.S for the morning. ADR at Sci-Fi 11:35 lunch. MK for the night and QS dinner at Cosmic Rays.

3/7 Go home :(

I'm jumping around a lot! And I think I need to change this a bit. I didn't want to have to stay at 1 park for the whole day so I figured do 2 parks a day and only see 1/2 of each park. I think I need to change this though, help

Jen, I just found your new PTR, and am catching up on it now!

I'm so excited for you to ride TSM!! I think your whole party will love it! My family always makes some type of bet before we ride (i.e. lowest score has to buy highest score a small souvenir, like a pin or something - that would be how I got my brother to buy me my adorable Mickey bracelet that was a whole $5) lol. It's sooo fun!
