I bid $13.00 for two plumeria cuttings (flowers). I got an e-mail from E-Bay confirming my $13.00 bid. When I looked at the board I saw that I had a maximum bid of $113.00. No way. I tried to retract the bid and was; told no because it had been more than one hour since I bid. I waited it out - worrying as you might appreciate - and the final bid was $20.50. Ok - I can live with that.

I established a paypal account a coujple of weeks ago. When I attempted to use it I was told my password was wrong. I e-mailed to "forgot my password" and then I was told I failed the security questions. WHAT? I know my dog's name and I know my ss number. I am sending the seller a bank check today (means a trip to the bank) but NEVER AGAIN.

Ebay is a tricky propisition, did they have a typo on the board? I have gotten burned buying myself so I understand you being leery about doing it again. I have to say that there are good deals to be had if you get over the unplesantness of this bad transaction! I have saved so much more than I wasted. My daughter ice skates and dresses are so cheap there so I go back!

Sorry you had such a rough time. I have used Ebay for a few years now and have only had one problem--someone didn't send my item after I paid for it. Negative feedback meant nothing. Luckily it was a $7 item, so it was a "live and learn" incident.
