My favorite Disney picture - post yours!

B/W picture of kids is priceless, no questions, but Jamians pictures also about shot not just effects. Main Street picture for example got a wonderful proportion, and there is something interesting about all his shots. As I said, you need a great shot to begin with. I agree that effects only, will not get you anywhere and sometimes simple shot looks much better, example Avatar, too many effects, brilliant in technical terms but was not enough to get "Best Picture".

Oh don't think I'm downing Jamian's shots! That's not what i'm trying to do at all! He shows alot of good Symmetry, and I bet those photos would look fantastic without the effects..

I did not say you downing his photos, I just exploring the topic. Effects add dramatic feel to his photos, B/W is actually another way to add the same effect. Matter of taste I guess.

Kelly, thank you, I was going to mention the same thing. You cannot just take any old digital photo and make it look like Jamian's. I am an architect, and we took photography in school. Almost everyone of the photos in Jamian's collection are all about setting up the shot; proportion; angle and drawing the eye all around the picture to take in the entire shot.

I am lucky enough to have an eye for it as well, still to this day. Many of my shots are very architectural; even his firework shots have a structure to them.

While anyone can purchase Photoshop, not everyone can set up a picture as well as Jamian is doing, even if it is enhanced or not. :thumbsup2

Do these programs run on a Mac or does anyone know of some that do?

I've been trying to figure this out. Turns out you can touch your pictures for free on photoshop's website. To buy the program is near $1000

Photoscape is a free version of an editing program available on the internet. I'm sure it doesn't do what the expensive programs do, but it is fun to play with the filters!!! Try it before you buy one.

one of my favorites

Thanks for the information!!:thumbsup2 Great pics everyone!!:goodvibes

This one made me cry. It is so sweet to see them being so gentle with her. I guess so emotional because I have a 14 year old DS and 10 year old DD and he would rather punch her than hold her hand
We are going next year for the first time as a family. We'll see if I can get a memorable picture (or should I say a SWEET memorable picture) !!!:rotfl::rotfl2:

Here are a few of my favorites from my January 2010 trip:

gimp, photoshop cs4, photoshop elements all run on mac also...not to mention apples own software aperture which I think does the same type of things

The good news is: :thumbsup2It's relatively easy to do!
The bad news is: it could be costly, though in the long run its worth the cost!
You'd need Photoshop which runs from 50$ to about 200$ depending on what version you get.
Then you'd need filter plugins, the one I used in my example is Topaz Adjust which runs around 48 bucks but they have other plugins too, you can buy the whole suite for $180.

Then it's only a matter of loading your photo and playing around with it by adding filters to it. in my example, i just used a quick setting and boom there you go.

If you have Photoshop (or PhotoCHOP as some call it - I happen to love it), you can search for free actions to download and use those as well. Just goodgle "free photoshop actions" and follow the instructions. They are extremely easy to use.

But lets remember - while programs such as PS have made all our photos better, it takes a trained eye to capture the truly spectacular shot. Is is about more than the finishing... composition plays a huge role. Jamian's shots are gorgeous.

Jamian.... I have seen your photos added lately to the Photography board. AWESOME work! And thanks for posting!

I'm pretty stupid about PP, so mine is SOOC (straight out of the camera) I love taking pictures of my family at Disney, but oddly enough I chose this one with a complete stranger in it!

Spectacular!

I love that Dumbo picture! Ah, to be a carefree little one again, just enjoying the sheer joy of a ride. :)

EDIT: It strikes me upon second glance that the person in the photo may not be so little...which makes it all the better. I hope we can enjoy the magic just like he/she is.

Great thanks. I will have to check out aperture.
