WOW!!! I would love to be able to do that.

Those photos are beautiful but I can ensure you he was carrying a tripod and very expensive camera around with him all day to get those. I just bought a inexpensive DSLR and hope that someday I can figure out how to use it to take pics somewhat like those. Also I wonder how he got those people in the picture with the electric parade to stand still for like a 30 second exposure

nah, you can take those shots with a inexpensive DSLR. In some shots it's a matter of shutter speed, in the all of the shots all you need is photoshop and a few good filters and effects such as Topaz.

Sure, let's see some of yours! I never get tired of looking at beautiful pics of WDW, so bring 'em on!

I'll even do a side by side for ya!
Here the original pic snapped from just a regular point and shoot camera:

Now here's what I've done in a matter of 2 minutes with the same pic:

If I spent a few more minutes on it i could've cleaned it up a little and made it more crisp, but I just wanted to show that it doesn't take much talent to get that type of image result.

Like I said somewhere else, some like to post to show how superior they are to others.

Why? Are you feeling inferior? I was merely showing how easy it is for anyone to achieve the same effects. If that makes me superior, awesome I'll go flex in front of a mirror when I get a chance..

You mean I can't do that with my Canon Elph?:lmao:

So just because someone chooses to post their beautiful work and it happens to be retouched, people feel the need to put it down and get snarky? Really? Seems petty and unnecessary to me.

Who cares if Jamian retouches his photos? The only reason I asked about it is because I'd like to figure out which PS effects he's using and do the same with my photos here.

Is it just me, or are the DIS boards getting worse day by day? I've only been here for what...two, three weeks, max? This is the second thread this week that I've seen where the discussions disintegrated into something unpleasant. Can we get back to sharing favorite photos now?

How? How? I really want to learn how to make my pictures more "magical.":3dglasses

Wow, no one was getting snarky. His shots are nice, but a few people thought it was a natural shots. All I said is that they wasn't and showed just how easy anyone, who would want the same effects, could do it. I'm pretty sure Jamian knew where I was coming from and even posted another technique after the fact.

Jamian - would you mind sharing any of the programs you use or perhaps any tips for adding some effects to our photos? Yours are truly incredible! I LOVE them!

Sorry, I beg to differ. There's at least one post in this thread that was definitely snarky. I'm not about to call the person out publicly because I don't see the point in getting into an e-peen fight on a forum. It's just not needed - this was a nice thread about favorite pictures and it turned into someone feeling the need to put someone's work down for no good reason. :confused3

The good news is: :thumbsup2It's relatively easy to do!
The bad news is: it could be costly, though in the long run its worth the cost!
You'd need Photoshop which runs from 50$ to about 200$ depending on what version you get.
Then you'd need filter plugins, the one I used in my example is Topaz Adjust which runs around 48 bucks but they have other plugins too, you can buy the whole suite for $180.

Then it's only a matter of loading your photo and playing around with it by adding filters to it. in my example, i just used a quick setting and boom there you go.
