I am not sure if I should lug my amazing twin bumbleride (LOL) down with me or just bring two umbrella strollers with me.
Also - would I be better off renting something like this when I actually get to Disney? WHat is the pricing and wait for something like this?

Bring something easy for you to push and comfortable for the kids to ride in.

I took my little umbrella type stroller down to the park one day instead of the big triple Perego (The Beast). I can't believe how short it is - I even took it to DL. I won't do it again-I'd rather take The Beast with only one kid in it than push that mini stroller!

There are a few off site rental places that have the City Mini that others have said are great. The prices are better than Disney stroller rentals and they deliver to the resort and you are able to take them back to the resort with you (unlike the Disney rentals).

how old are the kids?

This is my post taken from this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2519309&highlight=stroller (the power of search)

We have 3 strollers.. a Graco larger one, the SnS and a Combi umbrella.

Sicne me and the DD5 have passes and our DS2 is free, here is what we do.

1) Me and DD. Always bring the Combi. Its lighter, but I give up storage. HArder to steer, but oh well.

2) Me and DS. Bring the Graco. Bigger storage, easier to push, larger canopy and reclines.

3) Me and DS/DD. Bring the SnS, for obvious reasons.

Now when my wife on those rare instances of a CM friend getting her in, we take the Graco and the Combi. We like the options to split up and go our seperate ways in the park...

Personally, I prefer pushing umbrella strollers, compared to "beast" strollers. However, it does mean taking a backpack or other bag to hold all the stuff that would otherwise be pitched in the stroller basket. I often hang these bags on the handles of our umbrella stroller.

My wife prefers the bigger, heavier stroller, which she uses like a shopping cart with cup-holders.

How well does your double stroller steer when loaded down with kids, diaper bags, snacks, and "stuff"? We toured with another family whose double-stroller was difficult to steer when both kids were riding. It made for exhausting days in the parks.

my double stroller is amazing. light, moves like a cadillac.

also...
i have snack packs, tons of acccesories for it, etc.

i was only nervous about getting in tight places there.

I'd go with the double. You only need to fold it for the busses.

As I said before, I can't believe I pushed that cheap stroller around DL/DCA for 5 days. I just pushed it around here to the park and back and was so surprised at how terrible it is. There is no way I would take it to DW. I have a daycare so the triple stroller is what I use daily. I won't go back to using the single cheap stroller when I have just one child. It's worth the hassle of getting The Beast out the door-I don't care if everyone stares at me pushing one child in a triple.

Umbrella strollers look so uncomfortable, especially for bigger kids. They end up all slumped over, with no good support for their butt and back.

I used a Joovy Caboose with a five-year-old and a two-year-old and while it was kind of a pain to fold it up for the busses, I loved having it in the parks and for the walk back to our room.

On our last trip, we took two double strollers (my twins were one month shy of turning three). We liked having the two strollers because DH could go in one direction and I could go in the other if needed and our kids could still be in a stroller. Also, we thought it would be easier to fold up and carry on to the bus. Some of those busses get pretty crowded and, to be honest, there were nights when we were packed in like sardines and I was thinking to myself I'm so happy we have these two umbrella strollers versus our double stroller. We used the Chicco double strollers and I like them because they have a little basket at the bottom to put things, they unzipper on the sides so the seat semi-reclines when my little ones are sleeping and they also have a hood/visor (whatever you want to call it) to shade them from the sun. We'll be taking these again on our upcoming trip.

somebody clarify for me...
we are coming down in sept with my 3 month old and 2.5 yo

We think we have to bring our double, (it is like the city jogger) "beast like" but i love it
BUT, where in the world do they fit on the buses!!

Granted it will be my hubby's problem, but on a crowded bus i cant imagine it fitting!!

This is our first time traveling with the double, although we r disney vets, this totally throws me! haha

The strollers you can rent are actually pretty wide/deep. My 3 & 5 year old could fit in one single stroller, so if you have smaller/younger kids, I think they could share just fine. Maybe bring the umbrella strollers just in case, and check out the rentals. If you decide to to do the rental, you can store the umbrellas in a locker. I think a double stroller would be very bulky and hard to manage in the parks.

i would take only one stroller because its less to have to lug around and less to keep track of and more space to put things like backpacks!!:wizard::cutie::cutie:

When was this? The Disney strollers changed about a year ago and they are much smaller now. Some say their 5 yr old barely fits now.

Just wanted to give another view....We have been going to Disney since my twin girls were 26 months and they just turned 6 last week. When we first started going, we brought our double preg side by side and also once brought our mountain buggy. Then we decided to make the maclaren purchase from all the recommendations on this board. We bought two single maclarens and never turned back.

1. the purchase was well worth it. We have used it at the zoo, airports, disney and disney cruise. Also great if you ever do one on one time with the kids.
2. we bought the the connectors for them just in case one of us had to be alone. Easily connects the two strollers in seconds and works the same.

3. yes, you lose storage space, but if you plan on leaving in the afternoon for naps, then you really only need a backpack with morning essentials. We would take only that bag with us anyway even if we had the double. It will sit on the back of a maclarens as long as the child is in it.

4. I agree with porevious post, dont go with a cheap umbrella, they will kill your back. The maclaren has high handles so no leaning and the weight capacity is very high...something like 65lbs...not sure though. The maclaren is also VERY light.

5. the maclaren also has a strap to hold it on your shoulder when it is folded.

We used them every time until we had our third and now we needed another option, so the baby has a stroller and we bring 1 maclaren and they share it and sometimes sit on each other...! I refuse to bring a double and single with me:)

you make the best decision for your needs, but wanted to give you another thought on it! Have a great time....of course you will:yay:
