Thank you so much this is beyond helpful. BTW congratulations dsnycrzy.

I think i will make mine out of the chipboard albums from Michaels $1 spot!

There are some fantastic binders in this thread - even though i dont have any firm plans to return, i am for sure going to be making myself one of these. Thank you for you all for sharing your ideas and photos!!!!

All these books are awesome....never thought to do something like that - love to scrapbook and make a book with many many layouts for each trip but what a fun idea....will be taking some ideas from everyone to make mine!! :)

Love these binders. I am planning our first trip. I have no idea where to begin.

You all really inspired me- I started my own binder for our January trip last night, and stayed up way too late working on it! So far I have a really cute cover and section dividers for Travel Info and Dining. I also printed out lots of great journal pages etc from the Creative DISigns board- there is lots of great stuff! I will post pics soon...off to work on it some more! :thumbsup2

OK gang, here are some more ideas for those of you starting out. As I posted earlier, this is a 5.5 x 8.5" day planner book that I personalized for our family. (Dissers from the Creative forum may recognize some of their work here ;) for which I thank you). The book zips all the way around which helps to keep everything together.

Outside spine (sticker on the spine I purchased from Michaels):

Inside (notice zip pocket, credit card slots, etc):

One of many planning sheets:

Resort Information:

Park specific dividers. On the back of the title page I put park maps:

Front Cover pocket (great for passports, boarding passes, etc):

And last, but not least, the super handy handles! (they go in when not in use):

There is another divider for each of the following:
Disney Cruise (our first, and boy is this section is getting full!)
Dining
"Mousellaneous"
"Money Matters" which I have included credit card company phone numbers, travellers cheques numbers, trip payment information, etc.
I also made my own Disney notebook paper:rolleyes1
And yes, before you ask, my family thinks I am insane!

Begin building your own planning book/binder at your own risk!

I found them on a website but I don't know about stores.

I have seen them in Walmart.

I have found that a collins conference one and rymans stationers do one but neither have a pocket at the front. You can get the one in the pick from franklin covey uk but its a real leather version and very very expensive :)

i looked around and most were expensive! i found a small basic one on ebay for 6 quid but im not good with all this creative stuff so i think ill just get a notebook :(

I know you posted this a while ago - but I just wanted to both thank and curse you as I will now be doing nothing else but this until March!! Beautiful job!

Now I HAVE to make a planning binder! Curse you disboarders curse you! (not really I love you all!) Now my OCD has kicked into over drive and I have to get started for our August trip! Can't wait to do it and post the finished product!

So I have started putting together some spreadsheets to help with my 2013 trip. I feel they will end up being a lifesaver, cause it looks as though the trip will include close to 20 people if not more. :scared1: I hope to remember to post them after I am done...

The main reason I came on here was to post that the Container Store has miniature 3 ring binders. They are not half size but still helpful.

Measurements: 9" x 7" x 1-1/4"
Price: $15.99
