Obviously, just another gripe, but seriously, what the heck is wrong with Disney??? This thing has been online now for how long?

Some parts of it are actually pretty cool, and kudos to Disney for doing something right. But what really ticks me off is, if you can't get the technology to work properly, then don't put it live. I spoke to someone at Disney on Monday letting them know that both our resort reservation and one of our family members MB's was not showing up. They put me on hold, told me they fixed it and to check back in an hour. It's now Thursday and neither are fixed. Then there's the ticket nonsense. It seems for each member of my family, there are anywhere from 3-5 different tickets showing up. Why keep older tickets unless they are valid Annual Passes? I don't know which ones to validate, which ones to deactivate. This isn't the type of stuff that we should have to be doing. I've paid Disney for my vacation. Now, if they insist on making us use this technology, then they should be dealing with this crap.

I'm a planner and I LOVE the whole planning process, but this trip has been the biggest pain in my neck that I could possibly imagine. I had a far easier time (and heck of a lot quicker) filing my taxes this year on Turbo Tax. Now if that doesn't tell you that Disney needs to get on the ball, then I don't know what will.

Glitchy would be too kind to Disney.

I was doing the deed with FP+ this past weekend and after seeing changes on one screen, it took hours for that change to appear on a different screen.

I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.

Needless to say, making a few changes to FP+ reservations took hours, not minutes to accomplish.

Obviously, my experience was not unique, if the phone circuits to getting to MDE technical support were available, it then took a Cast Member more than 20 minutes to answer. In other words, any phone call to Disney technical support is taking about 1 hour to complete......and you still may not get customer service satisfaction.

I'm on hold for tech support again right now. I just spoke to a rude CM who informed me:

-Don't worry about the other tickets and cards showing up. They are just linked to your past visits. I can feel free to deactivate them. So I asked what happens if I deactivate my current ticket, and he said then I will have no ticket media attached to my MB. YEAH BUDDY - THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING YOU WHAT THE HECK TO DO!!!!!

What does it matter if all the old stuff is still there? All of mine is there and it doesn't cause any issues. That's how come I can use all 5 of my MB plus my AP to redeem FP+. Whatever I pick up to use, works for both entrance and FP+.

If you other tickets with days/entitlements left then you need to have your new ticket prioritized to be the main use ticket.

Eta- all my old room keys are there as well and it is likely I could use them to redeem my FP selections as well but I've never tried. FP+ isn't actually linked to active admission media.

I just don't know what to do. Nothing? Something?

I don't understand why tickets that have no days left on them are still showing up. I have two on my account from a trip in March 2013!

Do nothing. Not sure why you want to do something...leave it alone as long as you don't have any other tickets with remaining entitlements.

Because I don't want to get there and have to waste time on my vacation with MB's that don't have any tickets (or the wrong tickets) attached to them. I get it, that living 15 minutes from WDW, this wouldn't be a concern for you, but this is my 1 vacation of the year I get with my family, and I don't want to waste any of it dealing with this crap.

Exactly. Hell, why not just put these on there as well:

IT can't guarantee that outcome for you. No one can. And if you can make FP selections then you have valid tickets. It's not that complicated.

Now just imagine you're calling long distance from Canada to make that phone call, or the UK, or Australia... just saying -- many people don't realize that Disney still doesn't have toll free numbers for use outside the US.

I'm sorry this is happening to all of you, but when you post here keep in mind that a ton of people will post that the system works great, they can't wait to book their own FP's (that's actually my favourite, since it shows they have never used the system) and that it's probably your fault and you're doing something wrong.

We actually have 4 old KTTW cards showing up for each of us. Theoretically, I could use them instead of MBs but actually only one of them was an RFID card (which of course I threw out, because I don't keep old room keys). None of them ever had tickets attached (we book through group reservations and that wasn't possible with the kind of tickets we get -- but it is possible now, which IS great). We did a split stay so each of us also has 2 MBs. But... the only one you need to worry about it the one for your upcoming trip.

So make sure you get the new MBs customized on time, double check that your current tickets are assigned to the right people, and double check that any ADRs and FPs are assigned to the right people. Even if the app is glitchy or the system is sometimes down the information will most likely still be there. If you can't get help now and aren't going for a while, I would wait. The system seems to get overloaded when it's busy, and just this week they are starting the test for offsite ticket holders. Throughout our trip, whenever they were updating the software for staff use or public use, or had extremely busy park days, the whole MDE system had issues. But I can tell you that the Concierge desk at our resort could always see everything that was supposed to be there, except when they were getting an update (which happened 3 times that I know of).

If you get to your resort and your MBs won't unlock the door, or get to the parks and they don't work it is most likely a MB issue -- the information is all still there and somebody with an Ipad will be able to help you. Or you will be sent to guest services. Or you can call tech support (or a CM will). Or they will let you through anyways and reset your MB.

Yes, the system is not working the way it should and there are issues all over but there are a lot of small fixes that they can use to keep you going.

If you are not there now and are having tech issues, remember that the people who are having issues in the parks right now are also calling those numbers, as well as CMs who are trying to help those guests. Like right now in MK, a ton of people are there for EMH and some of them will be having issues getting through the turnstiles -- definitely not a good time to call. So using what you know about low crowd times etc try to call back when there is less phone traffic.

The MB is just a tech tool to gain access to and read your MDE file which contains the vitals such as tickets, dining plan credits, etc. There isn't actually anything loaded onto a MB.

As someone who has many old KTTWs/tickets/APs associated with her account, let me assure you that as long as the old tickets have no days left on them, they won't be an issue on your MBs.

I think it's quite complicated.
I have 2 days remaining while my DH and sons do not have any admissions left. yet it allowed me to make FP+ selections for everyone. How can that be?

If the system was working properly it wouldn't be happening. DH had a 3 day pass and we had 4. When MDE was working properly, it would say his didn't have days we could select FPs for but ours did. My bet is that if you got there and tried to use them they wouldn't work.

But I also wouldn't be trying to make FP selections for people who had no valid admissions -- that's going to mess you up down the road. Add their tickets first.

Clearly, given the endless number of threads with people having issues with it, it's not complicated in the least.

when I log on to my DH MDE account it shows him as having 5 days remaining. IT dept cant explain it and says the days are there and I know he doesnt have anything remaining. I purchased 6day PH for him and my boys 2 weeks ago but am afraid to link them. So if the Disneys IT dept doesnt know who does? I agree I would rather get this sorted out now rather than have to waste time when I there.

Amazing, last night I couldn't help but think all the new rules about when you can book and who can book and how much you can book are starting to sound like tax laws...

Pretty soon we will need the CPA equivalent of a Disney guide to book our trip
