Can I use a pin that is in a family members name if they are not going ? I was so excited then thought oh I may not be able to use it because it is not in my name ?

My understanding and what I've heard whenever I've seen this topic come up, is no, only the person who the Pin Code was assigned to can use it. By this I assume the individual would have to make and be on the reservation. You can not transfer Pin Codes.

Do you share the same address? If so, then you may be able to.

Btw - it's not by name only. I was able to use my son's pin, but we share the same address, so it was allowed.

You may have to keep calling back though, until you get a CM who will let you use it. My elderly mom actually lives with me. As an AP holder, I go to WDW several times a year. The only times my mom has ever been is as a guest in my room. She has never had any contact with Disney (does not have an email address, has never booked a trip, or ever even spoken with anyone from Disney). Despite my many trips, filling out every survey I can, having my email on file with them, ordering their planning DVDs, and saving trips on their website, I have never received a PIN. However, a few years ago my mom did get a PIN card in the mail. I immediately called to book a trip and was told that unless she was with me, that I could not use it. The CM said it was her PIN, not mine, despite the fact that I could prove she actually lived with me.:furious: I posted about it here on the DIS and was advised to keep calling. I did and every single CM told me the same thing, that I couldn't use it, unless she was with me. I told them I could bring proof that she was part of my household but they all said it was her PIN, not mine and I couldn't use it without her. Finally after like the tenth call I got a CM who let me use it. What was funny was that just a month or so later another deal came out that beat it, so I switched and didn't use it anyway.:rotfl:
