my dad passed away

i've been coming to the dis board for a long time but i very rarely say anything, but now i just need like having someone to talk to. on 11-26 my dad had a massive brain bleed, he was taken by ambulence to one hospital then transported to another, they put a drain tube in his head and by wed. he was awake squeezing our hands, he was intabated, they took the tube out of his throat he was talking to us a little, they told us he had too much secreations and had to put breathing tube back in, 12-5 they were removing the drain tube and he had a second bleed and a stroke on top of the bleed, thur. i had to sign dnr papers as my mom couldn't handle it, i went in and told my dad everything i wanted him to know, he passed fri. afternoon, he was a great dad, he was always there for me and my brother,he was a proad vietnam vet who came home with a bullet in his back shrap metal in both legs, a broken hand, he was so proad to serve his country,he would help anyone anytime, thats what he taught us to do, he didn't deserve to go but i know he wouldn't want to live like that, i know i'm rambling on i just need to get it out, my mom had a nervous break down in april and my brother is mentally retarded, i 'm doing my best to take care of them, please say a prayer for him

I am so here for you. My Dad has brain cancer, and it is so hard to deal with. I no what you are going through, sometimes i say to myself, " Why did this happen to me?" I think that a lot. i thank you all so much for keeping our family in your thoughts, i'm now looking for a support group for my mom, i try to talk to her but i don"t really get through, we don't have a lot of family support so i am trying my best to help them. thank you all i appriciate it

You are in my prayers. We lost our oldest son Saturday night and I know what you're going through. I can't imagine going through everything we've been through without the overwhelming support we've gotten.

If you need anything, feel free to contact me. If you just need to talk, vent, whatever....I understand.

I'm so sorry for you and your family. The other posters were right about being proud of your dad. He sounds like a great person and I know you will miss him. I haven't lost a parent yet, so even though our pains may be different, it still hurts and I want you to know you have support here if you ever need it.
