my custom dessert party menu-thoughts?

Ok so I was finally assigned my event coordinator for my dessert party. I plan to write a post about this process on my PJ just so you know.

He got back to me with the menu they customized out of all the desserts I gave them. We started with that the menu had so be $35 pp.

So here is what they gave me:

Bananas foster serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
Chocolate Strawberries
Brownies
Rice Krispy Treats
Cheesecake Bites
Seasonal Mini Fruit Tarts

Coffees with Whipped Cream, Shaved Chocolate, Cinnamon Sticks,
Orange Peel and Flavored Coffee Syrups

thoughts or opinions?

Here are some of the other choices I gave them to try to make a menu from:

Coke/Root Beer Floats
Ice cream sundae bar
White Chocolate/Milk Chocolate fondue (this comes with all kinds of dippers including fruit and pretzels)

I think there may have been some other things on the list that were not put in the menu. Would you try to change anything? Are there desserts you would try to substitute?

I like your things better than what they suggested! Yours sound so yummy! I would not do the bananas foster or the rice crispy treats and add in the fondue and the ice cream sundae bar.

the other items in the menu were all my suggestions too. Basically I made one big giant list and they tried to make a balanced menu for the price point.

I still like the fondue and the sundae bar. I am trying to pick things that you can't get just anywhere. You can get brownies anywhere, but where else are you going to see the fondue spread like Disney has?

I think the most important question is are you happy with it? If you have a tight budget then I'd be wary of changing things too much because you may end up losing things or suddenly there are 'price increases' and other items disappear off the menu completely!

Personally I think there is a pretty good variety there and I would be happy with the menu and the price

The price will not go up because it is in our contract that the menu will be a $35 pp menu. SO whatever is finally decided will be what the Grand Floridian Chef decides what will work for $35.

I do like this I did get a response that the bananas foster would be prepared out by the marina fresh and in front of our guests so that is a pretty cool feature.

I am waiting to find out about adding more fruit to this equation and if I need to take anything away. I just want to have fruit to eat with my cheesecake bites.

I think your menu sounds great.

Fondue is yummy, but if your wearing you dress I would pass on it. There is just too much chance for chocolate to drip onto it.

If you are trying to add more fruit and keep the cost down, perhaps you could exchange the chocolate dipped strawberries for a fruit display.

So there are 4 things on this menu that would not change because they are there for certain people.

1. Bananas Foster is on there for DF as this is one of his favorite Desserts

2. Chocolate covered strawberries are on there for my mom as this is her favorite dessert & everywhere I have read having chocolate covered strawberries can raise the price of a dessert menu to like $45pp so I am impressed they are even on the menu to begin with

3. Cheesecake bites these are for me because cheesecake is my favorite dessert

4. mini fruit tarts because I had these at Crystal Palace and holy goodness they were amazing!

I am waiting to hear back from my catering events manager on the fruit and I also asked if the rice krispie treats would be in squares or in mickey heads not like it matters I was just curious
