Here's the first pic! I'm sorry it's so dark. I'll try to fix it when I get the chance.

Wow, great costume. I was thinking of this for this year but unfortunately we are not going to MNSSHP this year. But we are going to MVMCP. Maybe we will make it next year. I was thinking of Mary Poppins and Burt for my boyfriend. Did you make this yourself or did you buy it. We went as Woody and Jessie last year and loved it.

:) I bought parts of it on ebay and parts of it I made- the hat and red cumberbund. I wrote a MNSSHP report farther down that talks about how the night went. I got so many comments!

Oh Angie, you are a 'practically perfect' Mary!:D Your birthday truly was a "Jolly Holiday".princess:

It is SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPEALIDOSHUS

Not sure if it is spelled right. Sounded it out. Costume is great!

Shan- yes, I do work at WDW :) When I ran into you right before you went to the party, I had just gotten off work and was on Main Street just to watch costumes!

I *have* auditioned for Poppins...I'm too short! (Though I've been told I'd be a good one by others in entertainment- that's what inspired me to make the costume.)

Do you work inside MK then?

OK, I'm really curious as to what an audition for a character is like.

Wanna share? ;)

I'm global, which means they can schedule me anywhere they like! I've yet to work MGM though.

As for the audition process, it's a combination of dance and animation. First, they teach you a series of dance steps. After they've given you a chance to master that, they tell you what your animation will be- some sorta action. You might be asked to act out going to a rodeo, making an ice cream sundae, building a sandcastle, taking a tour through the park, etc. Then they play the music and you animate for so many counts, then do the dance, then animate again. It's quite a workout!

Oh, goodness! That does sound like quite a workout!

Aren't some characters used for different things? Like they'll have a dancing/singing Mickey for shows and parades, but then another Mickey that only does greets? Would they have to go thru a dancing audition, too?

Are the face characters universal for everything? Greets and shows?

My daughters' dance teacher was Cinderella years ago.

Cool job AngieBelle. Do you just call in each day to see where you'll be needed?
