Tell him to talk to me! I was kicked out of my parents house when I was 18 (and 1/2 way through my senior year in HS) for refusing to pay rent to them for the remainder of HS!
Anyway, I had a friend and we planned to live together off campus since she hated dorm life and I needed a place to live year round. We did that for 9 months before we decided not to be friends anymore.
She was my closest friend there and I felt very alone.
I was forced to work because of my circumstances (of course) but worked in a restaurant, a Hobby Lobby and a Grocery Store before working with adults with Developmental Disabilities. I worked full time most of the time (or had a bunch of roomates and cheap rent when I worked part time) and made lots of friends through work. I made some through class too.
If he worked 10 hours a week I don't think it would disrupt school and he may find some friends!
If he does not want to work then I had a boyfreind in HS who was in college and he joined clubs to make more friends.
So who knows? I don't think even he knows how he feels.
