My co-worker is a fountain of misinformation!! 5/14 the day has come page 130

A friend of mine told a vendor that she was going to "Porchville" for her vacation. When she was off, I spoke to the vendor who said, "wow, it must be really nice that she got to go to Portugal." I laughed and told her that my friend was not in Portugal but in Porchville. She asked where that was. I asked her if she had a front porch and a back porch on her house. She said, "yes." So, I told her that she can go to Porchville, too. :rotfl:

:rotfl: You might be a redneck if......:lmao:

Computer teacher (the one who thinks nuns last name is Christ) had a doozie today ... she has a child in grade 2. So, we're computer teacher, 2nd grade teacher and I are in the office during our mutual break. 2nd grade teacher said "Today, we started our last unit and it's on explorers. I asked the kids to name an explorer and your son said Dora the Explorer." So, I start laughing super hard. Computer teacher says "What's so funny -- she's an explorer". So I said "And what do her discoveries include? A talking backpack and talking map?" and she says "No, she's a real explorer -- that's why the show is called 'Dora the Explorer'". I am thinking "are you nuts!" So, I said "There is no such person" and she continues to argue that Dora is a real explorer!!!! I am like WTH!??! So, after school, we all happened to be in the office and she said "I went on-line to look up "Dora the Explorer" and I couldn't find much. But, there must be a famous Dora the Explorer who this show is based on." Again, I was practically in tears b/c this is the oddest thing I've ever heard!!! And, I can't believe she wasted her time trying to find out if Dora was a famous explorer in the past.

So, she is thinking that Dora must be like "Mulan" which is based on a true story of a female who posed as a male to fight the Huns! She told us that she's going to do further research tonight to prove that Dora was a famous explorer b/c she's heard of her before.

She has GOT to be Miss Info's sister. No doubt.

I know!!!! I think these two are undoubtedly related to each other! It's scary to know that other people are this insane yet manage to function!

I'm going to bump this thread up so when the time comes it'll be at the top of the list and we can laugh even more at this lady!

ROTFL!!!

I thought the character's name "Dora" was a play on the Spanish word for "explorer"...and that's it. (besides being a safe, cute, and educational show for kids...)

I believe a *real* explorer would have...you know...a last name and stuff ;)

Subscribing. This thread is the best thing I've read in a long time. :rotfl2:

She's the first explorer to only need a first name...you know, like Cher, Bono, Jane (Goodall):)

And let's not forget that a *real* explorer probably would not consult her talking map for directions.

OOOHHHH...you know what would be soo much fun to mess with the Dora lady's head. HEHEHEHE....make up a ton of info on Dora and feed it to her. (and miss info too just for kicks) Things like the real Dora had a pet monkey named Botas and she used to dress him up in baby outfits complete with booties---thats where they got BOOTS. Oorrrrr...How about??? She liked astronomy, hence the stars Dora collects. OR... She was known to carry a large backpack with her that held unusual stuff. Ok that one;s lame but it is 12;30 at nite and the best I can do. LOL
