My co-worker is a fountain of misinformation!! 5/14 the day has come page 130

just subscribing. i heard about this thread from a freind, and couldn't resist checking it out for myself.

She got her St Paddy day flowers today. Kept them all wrapped up all day. they should be dead when she gets home. Someone took them off her desk and hid them two cubicles down. Same hissy fit as usual. It's getting old.

Did someone put in a Peep, with the head bit off?pirate:

I am surprised that they let the peep go across borders - we couldn't bring any opened food containers or unpackaged food with us from our last cruise.

Maybe that is just a US thing.
Maybe they don't consider peeps food?

your "m.i." reminds me so of someone i worked with years ago. i still recall her tirade one year around this time about the irs-

her-'i hate them, i hate them, i hate them'

us-'who?'

her-'the irs'.

long silence (noone responds because honestly-who does'nt hate the irs?)

her-'are'nt you going to ask me why i hate them?'

us-'o.k.-why do you hate the i.r.s.?'

her-'because they bounced my tax return and are now questioning all the ones i put in for the last 7 years!'.

us-'oh wow, that's terrible'.

her-'i mean, who are they to think they can question my personal deductions?'

smart **** in the corner cubicle 'actualy, i thinks that's probably one of the first things listed in their job description':rotfl2:

her- 'well, maybe-but realy, i've been listing my grandkids as dependants since they were born (gkids are like 10 and 12)'.

us-'wait, i'm confused-don't your grandkids live with their mom and dad, the mom and dad that both have realy good jobs-why don't they claim them as deductions?':confused3 .

her-'they do-but i do too, but apparantly since i used the correct social security numbers for them this year it's caused a problem':scared1: .

us- 'huhhhhhhhhh?'

her-'well, i never knew their real social security numbers so i would just guess but this year i had them cuz i bought them savings bonds so i put them on the return and now the irs says there's a problem':scared1: :scared1:

us-'wait, why were you listing the gkids as deductions in the first place?'.

her-'the tax law says if you provide at least half of the cost of raising a child you are eligible to list them as a dependant'.

us-'so you provide more than half the support for your gkids?'.

her-'well, yeah- i know what it cost me to raise my kids per year (like 40 years earlier) and i know i spend more than half of that on each of the kids between gifts and all those sales things they bring me from their schools each year, so i should get the deductions'. 'i mean, my daughter told me that when her return got bounced and she saw the irs guy last week he told her she was eligible to the deductions because she spends more than i do on them, but i don't think that should count-cuz she overspends'.

 :confused3  :sad2:

the truly scare thing about this situation-we all worked for a government agency that routinely provided basic tax filing information for our clients:scared: :scared:

thanks for bringing back some interesting memoriespopcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

OMG!!!!! That's too funny Barkley.

That woman was in for a rude awakening. I wonder how bad the back taxes and fines were. :faint:

Holy crap!! I think she is going to see the way the "real world" works. Those auditors and revenue recovery officers at the IRS are famous for getting the last penny back! Those are the ones that sieze your checking account, savings, and contact your employer and attach your checks!!! If it comes out that she "made up" social security numbers, that is proof of fraud!!!

She had better get a good lawyer to go with her!!

(or you could tell her that they have no right to audit her, and then say good-bye!! hehehehehehehehe)pirate:

EG - just wanted to check if you are going to continue updating us on MI's shenanigans. if so, how was her Easter? - popcorn::

Barkley :scared1: You have to wonder how that all ended. There is sooo much they could do to her.

Yes this thread will continue. It's my therapy when things get too crazed. Nothing new no crazy Easter stories.

[edited]...how could anyone be that stupid? I thought it was bad my BIL asks to use one of my kids (since we have three and can only use two) to get the EIC! Sure... just gonna get myself audited and lose the EIC for what is it 10 years? Of course he's willing to do it because he only loses one year if we're caught. I think not!
I have to share that one with my DH when I get home.

OMG! That has me :rotfl2:

Dawn

My mother had an office mate like that. When I was in college she would send me letters that included "Marians" This one was my favorite!

Her husband had a heart attack so the MD told them to cut back on the red meat. Marian said: "Oh, we had steak last night but I cooked it until all the red was gone"

:lmao: She's gone now, God rest her soul, but she will never be forgotten.

Today's gem is she's sick AGAIN. Yes there is Mooing and SSSTing. But the problem is that she won't blow her nose! So add suckin' down snot. So it sounds something like this moo, ssst, snort. 5 seconds of peace and quiet. Moo, ssst, snort. I wish my mp3 player went louder.
