My cat ran away last night...I opened the front door to get something out of the car and he shot out the door. I looked all over for him, but it was dark, and the flashlight did not help much. We even drove the neighborhood looking for him. We drove around this morning too and we can't find him. We are praying that he does not get hurt and that maybe a family will find him and take him to the vet down the street and that they will contact us. My son is heartbroken.:sad1: I am so worried that I did not sleep last night.....

I'm sure he'll come back. My cat has gotten out numerous times and always comes back. She's declawed even.

I hope so...we live in an area where there are a couple of large, scary dogs though (pit bulls and rottweilers) that people let run loose. They have never hurt us (they are very sweet), but I have seen them munching on small animals. It just scares me....and my mom's cat was attacked by dog's in her front yard (a different part of town) and had to be put to sleep a few months ago. I guess I am freaking out partly because of that...I saw her cat get attacked and the dogs almost got me too. But, I will pray that he comes back safe and sound.

Hang in there!

My daughter's cat slipped out her front door when she opened it, and she didn't even realize that she was gone for almost 24 hours (she's a college student and was in class).

Farrah was gone for about half a week and my daughter was beside herself. It ended up, that her neighbor below her had her the whole time. She opened her door, and Farrah slipped inside when she wasn't looking!

DH once had a cat run through a sliding glass door (and I do mean, glass!) and was gone for a week and came home!

Keep us updated! You'll be in my prayers!

Some advice for you.

Look very close to home. Inside cats don't often stray far when they get out.

Listen very carefully too because even if you call them they may not answer because they get scared.

Check carefully under things.

Maybe go out at night when it is really quiet and softly call to your cat. You might hear a small meow if it's really quiet out.

Hope some of this helps.

Aww he'll come back when he gets hungry. They always do!

If he doesn't show up by tomorrow put notices around your neighbourhood - my cat will climb into sheds, cars...anywhere he thinks there may be mouses! They can easily get trapped in if someone doesn't realise. As people to check their garages etc. and your kitty will show up.

Plus: it's mousin' season so he's probably out catching you a gift.:thumbsup2

Try going out with a tin of biscuits to shake or a can to open. Cosmo rocks up pretty quick if he hears the shake of the biscuit tin.

Try leaving some food and water out by the door. That may get him to come back. Good luck.
