I don't know if they are allowed to go out alone but I found out today that she got her first kiss yesterday - a french kiss and he told her that he loves her! Wow! I must be getting old because it seems like they are better young!
Yeah, as a freshman in high school I had been kissed before too. Kids are always "going out" with one another and having "boyfriends" even in middle school, though those are almost never real relationships and change on a weekly basis
I was with my highschool sweetheart from the time I was 15-17, and I'm alright so far.
My parents had a "rule" that me and my sisters couldn't date until we were 15. I met a guy (who turned out GREAT) when I was in 7th or 8th grade. Our Freshman year of high school (when we were 14) he wanted to date me. I avoided him for the most part because I knew what my parents' "rule" was. I still think life would have turned out differently if they hadn't butted in! He's now a Colonel in the Army and is planning on retirement! He'll be 44 tomorrow. Sounds like early retirement to me, but he has at least 26 years in if not more. Parents!
These things depress me...my DD is 12 and I am soooooo not ready for this! My DH and I saw a show on the Travel Channel, I think, about spring break and the things kids do. All I kept saying was "I don't wanna know!"
My DD is not even 1 and I worry about this, not to mention that her dad is horrified at the thought of any boy being near her even at her age
To make things worse, I saw an Oprah show maybe a year ago about girls and dating at a young age (younger than 14), and the things that kids did that age to feel "loved" and "accepted" or popular with other kids. It was HORRIFYING!!! It's even too explicit to write this in this post
I will have to stop here, my stomach is turning over... excuse me while I lock up my daughter in a windowless tower....
