My aunt had surgery so I went to Disneyworld. Update 5/23 Final Thoughts

That pancake does look good, too bad it was dry, I love baklava. Those bonsai's are so pretty.

It was good but would have been better if it wasn't so dry. I should have gotten the baklava especially since my brother didn't make any this year for Easter. His is amazing.

I did like the bonsai trees. They fascinate me.

Was behind a couple of updates but caught up now. Love all the pics of WS. I really like that garden in Canada, It's funny, I have been there many many times but I don't think I even knew that garden was back there until the past couple years.

Love the Dwarves topiaries!!

That pulled pork slider looked yummy!

Glad you caught up. I really wanted to take as many pics as I could of WS. I love that garden in Canada. It is so much fun exploring. As many trips as I have taken I still find something new.

I did like the dwarf topiaries although I really am partial to Grumpy.

The slider really was yummy. The best thing I had that day.

loving your report!! Great pics!

Thank you so much glad you're enjoying it. Thanks about the pics. I love sharing them,

Let's see if I can get Day 3 finished.

I had exited Germany and made my way towards China. I was looking for some cute bears that I missed somehow. And I found them

I went to Florida Fresh to try Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits with Andouille Sausage, Zellwood Corn, Tomatoes and Cilantro $5.50.

I also got the watermelon salad again. I did not like the shrimp and grits. I had a couple of issues here. I ordered the 2 things and only got the watermelon. A woman came after me and got her shrimp chatting away with the CM's working the booth. I got the feeling she may have been a CM also. They finally looked at me and asked me why I was still there. UM I ordered 2 things. Got a look and the shrimp and I was done.

I was a little annoyed but I found a table and ate away. If there were grits in there they were lost in sauce. I had way too much of that. The shrimp were tasty but this just wasn't a hit at all. The watermelon made up for it.

I then did something I haven't done in quite a few trips - I took the boat over to the WS. I had a short wait so I present pics while waiting and the ride

We were invaded by the birds. I do not like birds but I love taking pictures of them. :confused3

I love this picture, the view and birds in flight

My destination

The boat landed and I went over to Bauernmarkt. While in line I couldn't resist taking a pic of this

I wish I had a better pic. The woman was wearing a tutu. If it's anybody on here I apologize but that was just the strangest thing to me. I got the Savory Bread Pudding with Spring Peas and Wild Mushroom Ragout $3.75.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. I have had bread pudding but as a dessert. This was very good. The bread tasted sort of like a stuffing and the mushrooms were wonderful. A nice combination of different types and a flavorful sauce. I have to say this was another favorite.

It was about 4:15 when I finished this and I stopped for a bottle of water and headed towards the American Theater. I was shocked there was already a long line. Made me glad I headed there early and got in line. I was really happy when I picked my dates as I wanted to see the Flower Power concert. Getting there early paid off as I was in the very front row for the concert.

I present The Turtles with Flo and Eddy

What'd they do to our music Man??? That line just made me laugh

Sorry I got carried away with the pictures. I know they did several songs; Happy Together, It Aint Me Babe, one by the Cars as the keyboardist was a member of that group, and 3 or 4 others. I called my DH so he could hear some of the concert on the phone. He stopped listening to new music in 1976. I was really happy and wished I could have stayed for another show.
The crowds leaving the concert

That was very deceptive because it never really was that crowded the whole trip. There were a lot of happy people who remembered the good music from the 60's.

I will leave you here as I sing to the memory

Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love
And hold her tight, so Happy Together

The shrimp and grits just don't look very appetizing, the bread pudding look delicious but I love mushrooms. The Flower power and Eat to the beat concerts are so much fun.

I had seen other people get the shrimp and grits and they looked great. Mine were awful. The bread pudding was very good but I love mushrooms too.

The concert really was a lot of fun. I embarrassed myself by singing along but I did know the words at least. :lmao:

We had a good batch of the shrimp and grits. Ours were yummy.

Wow on that crowd leaving the concert - yikes. I do believe that by the time you got there, the crowds had died down some. I don't think it was that bad at all at the end of the week.

Yeah, I am not sure a grown woman should be wearing a tutu. But at Disney you can get away with it, I guess, without people thinking you are too weird.

We didn't get to try the mushroom thing in Germany. Now, I wish I had.

Now I have that song stuck in my head ...LOL

The shrimp itself was good just the rest was ICK!

I agree the crowd leaving the concert :scared1:. I really didn't see much beyond that except on the normal rides.

Yeah, I am not sure a grown woman should be wearing a tutu. But at Disney you can get away with it, I guess, without people thinking you are too weird.

That was just different. :lmao:

It really was good.

Now I have that song stuck in my head ...LOL

It could have been It's a Small World after all. :lmao:

That is so nice you had a Dismeet.
Oh! no pic it didn’t happen. LOL
I love the tea displays.
Lucky you with Hook.
When I die I want to come back as a bird at Disney. Who has it better? Or a turtle being they live longer. LOL
The movie was good and the glass flowers were nice.
The butterfly pic is gorgeous.
Behind the Seeds tour is so great.
Traffic stinks.
Hope the engine light is nothing.
MMM, the brownie a la mode sounds good.
Oh the Dismeet did happen. I never doubted it. LOL
I am going to have Renee drive as we enter WDW so I can take a pic. LOL
I find it hard to get a pic in Figment.
I love the Crocs displays.
Some people are idiots.
Morocco is so pretty.
I do like that camel.
I thought the doors led nowhere also. LOL
Those ornaments are gorgeous. I missed them.
I have no idea who that group was.
Big crowd leaving.
All caught up again.

Happily singing now! I love the music of the 60's!

I love your butterfly pictures. When we were there, it was too cold and the poor butterflies would not come out.

Figment is a must do now. We found him on our 3rd trip.

Thanks for sharing!

It was a very nice Dismeet I just forgot to get a picture. Actually I didn't I hate being in a picture.

I love the tea displays.
They were very nice.

Lucky you with Hook.
Lucky me that someone very nice told me he would be there. Thanks Scott,

When I die I want to come back as a bird at Disney. Who has it better? Or a turtle being they live longer. LOL
Will you attack Vinny?

The movie was good and the glass flowers were nice.
I really need to get to the movies more often.

The butterfly pic is gorgeous.
Thanks.
Behind the Seeds tour is so great.
I'm looking forward to it.

Traffic stinks.
Hope the engine light is nothing.
Traffic was really bad the first day or two. The check engine light took til the day I went home to go off. Some idiot forgot to put the gas cap on.

MMM, the brownie a la mode sounds good.
It was very good.

Oh the Dismeet did happen. I never doubted it. LOL
See someone got a picture to prove it. LOL

I am going to have Renee drive as we enter WDW so I can take a pic. LOL
Jim will drive in December but it may be dark by time we arrive. I have plans to go to the dark side our first da.

I find it hard to get a pic in Figment.
I do too but I keep trying.

I love the Crocs displays.
Some people are idiots.
They really were nice and I may try that in my front garden. They really are.

Morocco is so pretty.
I do like that camel.
I thought the doors led nowhere also. LOL
It really is pretty, very colorful.I thought of you when I saw the camel. Thank for pointing out that the doors led somewhere.

Those ornaments are gorgeous. I missed them.
They had the ornaments in 2 colors. I am planning on getting a couple in December.

I have no idea who that group was.
Big crowd leaving.
You may not have been around when they were popular. :rotfl2:The crowd was insane leaving the theater.
All caught up again.

Glad you caugght up

My DH plays nothing but 60's music although I do enjoy it too. The concert was so worth the trip.

Thanks I love taking pictures of butterflies. I am now working on getting them in flight.

I have to do Figment every trip. It just brings back memories of my son with the biggest smiles on his face.

Your quite welcome. There will be more to come.

Not much left to DAY 3

After the amazing concert I wandered slowly to the exit. I stopped for a break here. I know most people like to frame the arch, and I know it has a name but it escapes me, but I was trying to get more of a side view to show the barnacles on the arch

Stopped at the Cottage one last time for Baked Goat's Brie with Kumquat Chutney $4.50.

I wasn't sure about this at first because I wasn't sure about the chutney. I've never had kumquats so had no idea what they tasted like. Let me just say this was sooooooo good! The pastry was very light and flaky, the brie melted to perfection and the chutney was the perfect accompaniment with it. I was very happy after seeing other people sampling it that I decided to try it.

I made one last stop at Pineapple Promenade for the Pineapple Upside down Cake, $2.75.

This was just weird to me. Maybe it's regional but I have never had some sort of vanilla sauce or coconut of any kind on it here in Philly. It was also a little dry. I should have had more watermelon salad.

I headed on towards FW and got a monorail coming, the man walked into my perfect shot everyone else stopped

and going

I stopped at Innoventions for my Rewards free picture and saw Minnie and Goofy again!!! Oh well it's free and my DGD loves Minnie. I decided to try and go on SE through the main entrance as I rarely see that and a 5 minute wait was posted. 15 minutes later the line was building and I hadn't moved an inch. The CM kept saying the ride just went down and will be back up any minute. I didn't wait. This was the view for the whole wait

A couple more pics as I exited

Love Pluto stealing the hot dogs

It was about 7:15 PM and I was done. As I was leaving I saw young couples in gowns and tuxes entering the park. They were having their prom at EPCOT. I wish I had taken some pics they were so cute.

I got home without getting lost and was at my aunt's house by about 8 PM. I would have loved to stay and see the topiaries lit up at night but I knew my mom and aunt were waiting on me so they could lock up and go to bed. The check engine light was still on in the car but I wasn't too worried about that. No dinner as I was quite full after eating around the world.

With that day 3 ended and I was half way through my trip. Stay tuned Day 4 will be starting. Where did I go this time?

That baked brie looks good but I love brie anyway cold, baked on a sandwich. I love coconut but that does not look appetizing at all

I like brie myself and this was really good. I'm also a big fan of coconut but that upside down cake was just different.

Let's try and get Day 4 started.

Day 4 was Sunday April 7th. This was important only because it was Sunday. I was up by 7, showered and downstairs by 7:15 AM. I got a cup of coffee and we finished off the carrot cake for breakfast. Then my mom started on me, "Are you going to church with us?" She knew the answer to that question before she asked it. My mom and aunt are different religions so they go to TWO church services. I told my mom while we discussed my plans that I wasn't going to join them. So after mom tried the guilt trip I looked at her and said, "I thanked God for the beautiful day. I'm off to the house of the mouse."

With that I was off. By 9 AM i was seeing my favorite sight

I came off of I 92 and could see the Swan and Dolphin in the distance. Then I passed the exit for DHS. Not my park today. A monorail passed by and I managed to get a shot

I was quite happy with the picture as I shot blind so I could have had the roof of the car. My park for the day

That was actually as I slowed down. I showed my AP and was directed to a parking spot. I took a pic this time as I kept losing my car every night. They rent way to many small red cars in Orlando. The tram was already there waiting so I was off the TTC quickly. So were quite a few other people most heading to the monorail. I took the boat. Took a few pics as I waited and on the ride

The Grand Floridian DVC is more than a frame now

Three modes of Disney transportation: boat, monorail and bus

At 9:30 I was in line to enter the park. I headed all the way over to the right and used the new RFID entrance. This may be quicker once people figure it out. I am always amazed that in all my tips I always find something new. Today it was this doorway

My destination as I entered was Adventureland. As I entered that area I saw these trees by the Swiss Family Treehouse.

I don't know what they are but they had big green pods that opened to what looked like giant cotton balls. Moving in I saw this and just liked it

Jungle Cruise was posting

I took advantage of the short wait and took pics of the queue as I always miss that

Not sure I like the menu

They're hiring. If they had better food on the menu I would e tempted

And I was on my cruise with all of the corny jokes. The CM was OK. I've had better tour guides and I've had much worse. I took no pictures at all. I just wanted to sit back and enjoy. I took this as I exited

Up next

Again I had

Yep a 5 minute wait which was really how long it took me to walk to the ride. Took pics along the way again

And then no more pics as I sat back and enjoyed this ride too. I did try for one pic of Jack at the end of the ride because we were stopped.

Of course by time I turned the camera on and focused the boat moved. I debated a second ride and decided against it. I should have gone on again because the wait time was 60 minutes when I headed back that way later.

Next up I needed to see some ghosts.

That time was wrong. Based on the time stamp I was stuck here 11 minutes later

Stopped here too

And that was it for pics.

Where do I go next? Stay tuned much more to come.

Magic Kingdom is the best way to start the day, we always head towards Adventureland when we enter. It does look like a beautiful day.

I love MK to start the day or the trip. I tend to go towards Adventureland every trip. It would seem odd not to now. :rotfl2: It was a gorgeous day.
