My aunt had surgery so I went to Disneyworld. Update 5/23 Final Thoughts

The rest of the day looked good except for the SE wait.
Tisk tisk. Should not be taking while driving.
The GFV looks nice but my god that is going to be expensive.
I would like to be casted. LOL
The Jungle Cruise is really hit or miss depending on the CM.
Love me some Pirates. I cannot wait till December to ride it being we skipped it last trip. :O( Ooh you got a sneak peak at my TR there. LOL
Nice pics in HM.
Nice pics and updates.

Getting to the park early in the morning was key that week for sure. The weather was beautiful that last couple of days.

Yeah that wait was not fun.
Tisk tisk. Should not be taking while driving.

My mom yells at me for that all of the time. I make sure I am safe and don't look, just click.
The GFV looks nice but my god that is going to be expensive.

I love the Grand Floridian and this looks like it will fiot in but I think you're right it's going to be very expensive.
I would like to be casted. LOL

Me too.
The Jungle Cruise is really hit or miss depending on the CM.

It really is. Kristel and I had a CM that was horrible in October.
Love me some Pirates. I cannot wait till December to ride it being we skipped it last trip. :O( Ooh you got a sneak peak at my TR there. LOL

How can you forget to ride Pirates????
Nice pics in HM.
Nice pics and updates.

Thanks
Getting to the park early in the morning was key that week for sure. The weather was beautiful that last couple of days.

The crowds weren't as bad the last couple of days and except for the first day the weather was gorgeous.

Day 4 moves on and I was done with Haunted Mansion. Where to go next? I headed over towards the new Fantasyland.

Loved all of the little details in that area then I had to do a favorite

I know a lot of people don't like it but I rode the original at the Worlds Fair in NYC in 1964. My mom won a trip there and took me and it is a ver happy memory for me. I entered the line at

Took a few pics even though I hadn't planned to

And Gloria. I honestly don't know if the hippo has a name but on our trip this past August my grandkids got excited and called her Gloria so that will be her name to me from now on

And this was the time I was finished

Not bad, 15 minutes from start to finish. I wandered a little further in to Fantasyland and caught the end of a small show. It was cute though.

My destination?

I decided to stop and have lunch here just to check it out. The wait time posted was 30 minutes but the line moved quickly. Some pics from the line

We've reached the entrance

Inside

This was cute but I wasn't spending $17 for it

Room where you place your order

After you place your order you are given a rose and then you go into the dining area to find a seat. There are several different areas. I opted for a dark room

I had stopped to get my drink from the self serve area and found a table. As I sat with the rose on my table I was a little confused aout what to do neat. I did see CM's coming in and out of the kitchen area with carts. Evidently the rose must be programmed with the order because after a few minutes a CM stopped at my table, checked my receipt and gave me my food.
I had the French Onion Soup, $4.99

The soup was very good. The broth was light and filled with onions, a little more than I liked but not bad. It had a wonderful cheese mixture melted on top and a large piece of bread in the broth.

For dessert I had a chocolate cream puff, $2.99

The cream puff was OK. I've had better and I've had worse. For a drink I just had the standard Gold Peak unsweetened Iced Tea. After I ate I took a few more pics

I plan on eating here again in December with my DH. I know that he'll enjoy the soup as it's a favorite of his. After my light lunch I moved on. Stay tuned to find out what was up next.

Don't you love when you get an update all done and you are over the image limit. I did that yesterday and of course I had no time to fix it as I had a ball game to get to for my DGS's. The team gave all the mothers and one grandmother, ME, some bedding flowers as a gift. I was surprised and happy that they thought of me. I have been to every game so I guess they like me.

Now to try and get an update going again.

I had just had a really nice light lunch. When I left BOG I had wanted to go to Gaton's Tavern to try the LeFou Brew. I think I have ADD because as soon as I decided that was what I wanted to do I was sidetracked by pretty lights

They would lead me to a journey Under The Sea. That's where I went. I never did get to try the LeFou Brew. Oh well there's always next trip. Now I had been very lucky in October to go on a soft opening of the ride but was really hurried and didn't enjoy the wait. I had been watch watching as I had very little time. This day I had no plans and all of the time I wanted. I took pics but here are a few

Some entertainment while you wait

I took quite a few pics and really love all of the little details. I wish it had been open in August when I was there with my DGD's, they would have loved it. Anyway about 20 minutes later I was on the ride. Since they make no announcements I asked about pictures - NO FLASH!!! It's a fairly dark ride so I am only posting a few of the better ones

A new ride challenge for me, dark ride and pictures. I then saw a pretty waterfall

I followed it and wound up at

I entered and liked the pretty lights again

Then I met Ariel. I didn't really interact much. I hate my picture being taken.

One more light fixture

and I will continue in the next post. Want to keep pictures and areas together. :rotfl2:

After Ariel, and having totally forgotten that I wanted to explore the expansion some more I found

I hadn't been here on my last 2 trips since the area opened. I miss Toontown but this is a cute area for kids. I headed over to the Big Top for a FP. Then I saw

I know I have said it before but I really do hate having my picture taken but I couldn't resist and the wait time was perfect for my FP.

The Great Goofini

The Astounding Donaldo. I wasn't blushing, even with sunblock my face was that sunburned. I matched my shirt. :lmao:

Then it was FP time.

I was excited. In all of my trips since 1988 I have never been on Dumbo. It was down for weather, the line was too long, it was no longer cool, just never rode it before. I took some pictures of course. The self portraits of me will remain hidden as I look horrible.

Love this one with the original Dumbo and castle in the background

Love this too. Got the Barnstormer

And my first ride on Dumbo was over. I followed it up with more pics of me. Sorry.

Madame Daisy Fortuna

Minnie Magnifique

And I headed out. Took one more pic as I passed the Fantasyland expansion. I can't wait for this ride to get finished

Where to next? Stay tuned.

I always type my updates in Word before I post them, so that way I can count how many photos, I have. A lot of the time, I have several updates already typed.

That is so cool you got to ride It's a Small World at the 1964 World's Fair !! What a special memory. We went to the World's fair in 1982, but I don't remember much about it. We didn't get many photos.

DD wants to eat at BOG so bad, but I know she won't like any of the food there. We have a ressie for dinner in September. We will see how that goes.

I love all of your character photos !! You look good in your photos. I don't know what you are talking about. But I understand. I don't like posting photos of myself either. I keep trying to get DD to go in and get photos of the Goofy, Donald and Minnie at Storybook Circus, but she never wants to go in.

Good photos from Dumbo !! I can't wait for the coaster to be ready, either!!

I never thought of doing that. It would be easier that way.

It really is a fond memory. I remember getting all dressed up. That was still when you got DRESSED in your sunday best for outings, and the bus ride. But I really do have memories of IASW and Carousel of Progress. One of the rare times my mom and I did something just the two of us.

Thank you. I have never liked the way I look which really annoys my DH. I'll get to do more characters in December because DH likes to get the photos done. My DGS has reached that age where he would rather eat snails than see characters although I think he does like it just needs to look cool.

Thanks I was happy with the Dumbo photos. I keep hoping the Snow White coaster will be done by time I go again in December. They have over 6 months.

Day 4 so far was an early arrival and I managed to get through Adventureland, Fantasyland and BOG for lunch, and spent some time at a circus all by about 2 PM. I was making some great time. Where to head to next Tomorrowland. I got a FP for Buzz and then no trip is complete without a nice relaxing ride on

I actually took a trip about 2 years ago and I think I had one or 2 pics of the castle. The horror, what was I thinking. I have made up for that the 3 trips since then and taken pics if the castle every chance I had.

Some people enjoying the nice relaxiing ride over my next stop

That's right I headed here next

This is another sentimental favorite. I do have one problem here. You never get the same instructions: no FLash photography, no video, no photography period, I never know what is allowed. I solved that problem by taking no pics. That's right not a single picture. I'll take them again next trip.

After I took a nostalgic walk down memory lane, No I am not old enough to remember all the scenes but I did ride it at the Worlds Fair, I headed over to Buzz Lightyear's Ranger Spin. I do not like this ride. I lose all of the time. I can't figure out where to aim or which light is mine. I figured I could do better with no pressure to eat anyone, no competition how bad can it be? I actually had about 5 minutes to go but the very nice CM let go through anyway. My FP return

I took almost no pictures but by here I almost lost to myself

That's right I started shooting with both hands. I scored a whopping 30,000 points. I scored 4,000 points halfway through left handed. I really hate that ride.

I tried

After that miserable showing I headed towards Main Street. I saw PUSH and some kids being totally amazed by the talking trashcan

I have seen PUSH twice in all my trips and both times my mom was involved in the trip. The voice of PUSH

Another pretty castle shot

Mickey and Minnie

It was now around 3 PM and people were lining the streets for the Parade. That wasn't in my plans this trip. Country Bears was getting ready to begin a show so in I went. It's been a few trips for this one and I know it's corny but I like it. I took a few pics, all NO flash, some people do not hear the word NO!!!

And one with flash as I was leaving. My dad loves buffalo. He collects them. There was once a buffalo farm by us and he knew them by name. I pretended not to know my parents on those trips. :lmao: He collected buffalo poo. :scared1: Because of this my SIL has always called my dad Buff. This was for my dad

When I got outside I saw the very end of the parade and took a pic

I was getting hungry. I knew what my mom and aunt had planned for dinner, I told them not to save me any. Pecos Bill is right there. The food is OK but I eat here for the fixings bar. My burger

It really was in there but I love the mushrooms and sauteed onions. I also got some cheese for my fries and an Iced Tea. 0

After eating I headed towards POC for one last ride. There was a 45 minute wait. The line really was long. I wasn't waiting so sadly I headed towards the exit and the monorail. My day at MK was a great one. I accomplished a lot.

Cliff Hanger - Where did the monorail take me?

Great day at MK so far! I always have intentions of getting there at rope drop or at least in that first hour or so but that never happens. You got a lot done in the few hours you were there.

My trip in December I am hoping to get to a few parks at rope drop. Of course my DH may have other plans.

I was really happy with what I accomplished that day. I didn't plan on some of the rides and was happy to just see what I could. I knew I was going back again so why push it.

Let's finish off Day 4. I was headed to the monorail but where was I headed?
Took this from the monorail

Yep one last visit to EPCOT. I headed to SE for one last ride. There was almost no wait. Still opted for no pics til we got stopped here

Now if I could just have seen the Roman soldier it would have been perfect. I noticed that there were a group of teens getting on with me. Normally this doesn't bother me. These kids NEEDED a chaperone!!!! While we were stopped they were standing up in the vehicle causing the please remain seated announcement to play constantly. They were trying to touch anything they could reach and yelling to one another. Not a pleasant ride.

The ride started up again and we got stopped here

My future, I'm twins and one gets more sunburned than the other :lmao:

I did send my postcard of the ride home since that wasn't really crowded. I then saw this

Now I have never seen a service dog in Disney although I know there are areas for them. What really amazed me was that the dog was a Dachshund. Doxies are not what comes to mind when you think service dogs.

My next stop was Innoventions for my Rewards picture. Guess who

Yep Minnie and Goofy again. I had fun with them though. I was then off to my destination - The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I didn't want to go on the ride though. I have a wonderful 9 year old grandson who also happens to be autistic. His latest obsession is sharks and fish. I wanted to get some pics for him to make a collage for his room. I was happy with some of them

Jellyfish

This guy posed for me

This starfish had the longest arms

I headed up to the observation deck to check out the manatees

The woman standing next to me yelled to her family to come and see the WALRUSES. I walked away.

Got a decent shot of the dolphin

And a nice one of the shark

My grandson saw my pictures and immediately knew it was a tiger sand shark and gave me a few other facts.

I headed over to Club Cool to see who was trying Beverly and a quick drink. I love seeing people's faces when they try that. You can always tell. :lmao: As I headed out of the building the foiuntain was dancing so of course I got a few shots of that too

OK seriously I was trying to get the rainbow. I stopped at Mousegears for something for the grandkids, sour gummies for the oldest grandson and taffies for the little ones. I also had to get a special gift for my grandson Michael. The Mikey in my signature for a TR. Mikey has ADHD, OCD tendencies and some other issues. He gets in trouble in school alot because of this. On friday my DD called me to tell me Mikey needed to talk to me. The conversation was something like this.

Me - "Hi Mikey. What's up?"

Mikey - "MeMo bad news."

Me - "Oh no Mikey! What did you do?"

Mikey - "I student of the week MeMo! I was AWESOME!!!!"

Me - "That's great Mikey."

and before I could say another word Mikey responded "OK, bye MeMo." and hung up the phone.

I found a cute Philadelphia Phillies Vinylmation for him. Mikey may never make student of the week again. It took him 2 years to make it the first time. He is such a funny guy and a great sense of humor. Of course now I have to buy one for his cousin on my next trip.

Picked up my picture and took a few more of the entrance/exit.

I sadly said good bye to EPCOT, the monorail, the TTC, etc. You get it. The sad I won't be back this way again til December.

The ride back to my aunts was great. I didn't get lost and the check engine light went off. I stopped to put gas in the car as I wouldn't have enough to make it anywhere the next day. This will prove to be an error in judgement later as I only put $10 in the car.

My mom went to bed early and my aunt and I stayed up til about 11 PM chatting. She doesn't come up north as much to visit since my grandmother passed away and as often as I get down there I never have a car so I don't visit. We caught up on our lives and talked about my Gram who I still miss everyday. With that I went ot bed and my last full day in FLorida came to an end.

Wonderful story about Mikey. There's nothing like a grandmother's love! Glad you had a nice visit with your aunt, too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I have 6 grandkids and they are my world. Mikey is just such a funny kid.

I had a really nce time with my aunt. I miss being able to chat with her. One last day to come. I managed to squeeze in some Disney before going home.

In all of our trips, we have never ridden the monorail from the TTC to Epcot. We always have a car, so DH prefers to drive everywhere.

Ooooo .... you got some good fishy photos !! I bet Mikey loved them !!

I hate it when people let their teens run amok in a public place.

Boo to it being your last fun day :sad2::sad1:

My DH is the opposite. Once we hit Disney property the car doesn't move for a week. He drives for a living and is very content to let someone else do the driving. I like to ride the monorail at least once a trip. It just says Disney to me.

I was very happy with the fishy pics. Mikey did like them but I actually took them for his cousin Kyle. I am trying to find a way to reach Kyle on a level he likes. He isn't very easy to handle sometimes because of the autism, although he is high functioning, and my DIL gets mad at me because I don't spend time with him. I do of course and I knew these would make him very happy.

I raised teens and have a teenaged grandson. I would never accept that behavior. DGS goes to Disney with me and knows what behavior is expected. I sometimes think teenagers need more supervision than 2 year olds. :confused3

I hate that last full day. It is so bittersweet.

I am playing catch up while I was away. I hope to try Be Our Guest when we go in August, that soup looks yummy. I can't miss the old favorites Country Bears, Small World and Carousel of Progress.

The soup really was very good. I want to go back but since they have the soup on the lunch menu that will work for us. I love the old favorites.

Did you have fun on your trip?
