I just wanted to share my experiences flying Airtran and using Magical Express in case anyone was interested.

We flew out of Dayton airport on October 11th. Dayton is a tiny airport and as usual there was no line at security. Our flight was schedlued to take off at 8am and we began boarding at 7:30. We had checked in online and had seating assignments so I wasn't worried about that so we waited to board until final call. We took off at 7:50-10 minutes ahead of schedule. We were of course given an in-flight snack and drink.

We were scheduled to land at 10:20 and we landed at 9:58! I was very impressed with everyone who worked at Airtran. We never encountered a rude employee, all the flight attendants were beyond friendly. I was also impressed with the fact that we took off 10 minutes early and landed 20 minutes early!

We found our way to Magical Express easily. Once you get to the baggage claim area there is a Cast Member in case you have any questions. We asked her just to make sure we were going the right way and she pointed us in the right direction. We went straight to the line for Magical Express and were directed to the Pop Century line when I showed the CM our booklet. I later found out in talking to others on the bus that we were supposed to have checked in, we missed that step!

We had no wait for the bus and the drive to Pop Century took 30 minutes, it was the first stop. There was also no line at check-in and our room was ready. Things were certainly going our way this day! We landed at 10am and we were sitting in our room at Pop at 11. So, it only took us one hour from landing to be in our room-very impressive! I really enjoyed bypassing baggage claim, that was great.

We went to lunch at the food court and then walked around the grounds and came back to the room at 12:30 and our bags were there. So at most it took them 2 1/2 hours from landing to get there.

On the way home our pick-up time for ME was 5:15pm for an 8:30 flight. This seemed excessive and it was. We were at the airport at 5:45. There was no line to check in at Airtran and we got our seat assignments and went through security. We were sitting at the gate by 6:30 and boarding didn't begin until 8. That was one long wait!

The flight home was really bad, but not at all the fault of Airtran. We didn't take off until 9 because there was a bad storm in Atlanta and they were waiting to see if it was going to pass. We ended up flying through the bad storm and the turbulence was horrible, I thought I was going to have to use the sick bag. We landed at 11, very tired. The flight crew was great though with keeping us updated during the turbulence and one FA even brought me a club soda because she could tell I needed it!

Overall I had a great experience with Magical Express and Airtran. I don't fly one particular airline, I fly whatever is cheapest, so I can't say I will always fly Airtran. But, given the chance I would definintely choose them again. I can say with 100% certainty that I will always use Magical Express. It was so easy! I loved not having to get my bags and the bus ride was relaxing. When we rent a car it is always stressful trying to get to the resort and we sometimes get lost. With ME this was not an issue. I would consider paying for a cab back to the airport to reduce wait time however.

I hope that helped someone, any questions feel free to ask!

You summed up my thoughts on ME. I used it for my last trip.... I am NOT a public transport person (I do take the train to work when I work in the office, but I really like having my car!)

ME was so easy. I was able to read my book and watch the video on the way to the hotel, I just found it very relaxing!

I second the thoughts on Airtan and ME.

Airtran was a nice airline to fly and all went well.

ME worked perfect and it was very easy to use! We made it to Caribbean Beach in just over an hour and our luggage was in our room later that night when we got back from dinner.

We had a great trip with Airtran and ME too!

Thanks great We use SW as we are use to it But I always check the Airtrans flight as well because I have heard good things about them.

That return time is more of a suggestion to whats best given the what the wait times are on average so that you will make your flights.

You can change them to whatever you want either at the desk or you can call and request a new time as well. You jusst can't blame them if something goes wrong like they have to make additional stops and so forth.

We also like ME but we also need a rental so we rent at a DTD hotel location or the CCC for a few days each trip.

We are using Southwest for our December trip and I am actually a little nervous as I have never flown them before. I wanted to just go with Airtran after having a good experience with them but the price difference was significant.

I have flown SW 5 to 6 times a year for about 6 years now and have never had a problem with them We always get A boarding passes and always sit together.

Like I said I will save some money with Airtran but it has to be alot as SW also has the best cancelation policy of all airlines (imho).

I also already have my Dec flights booked at $79 each way hoping for a DING to lower that.

This flight for OCT is $112 RT each for the 3 of us and thats not bad at all for booking on short notice.

Just check-in 24 hrs ahead of time and you will be fine .

Wow, that's a lot of flying on Southwest! I have had many people tell me to check in 24 hours in advance so I will definitely do that. That will be at 7:30am on Christmas day! :teeth:
