I am here right now, although it is the last night of my trip here goes.
Day 1 - November 28 (Saturday)
I came down on a mid-morning flight, and actually arrived in Orlando about a half hour early. While on the plane, there was a guy sitting in the row across from me, and he was coughing a lot. He did not even put his hand over his mouth. Are you serious?
A couple of us said something to him, and at least he covered his mouth then. He was actually mad because we said something. Unfortunately, the damage was already done.
On with the story. After I picked up the rental car, I went to Walmart to pick up supplies. I also went to pick up tickets for the Gospel Brunch on Sunday. Stopped at the Pin Traders and bought quite a few pins. I was thrilled when I got a 10% AP discount there. The CM said it was probably just for the holidays. By this time, I was starting to feel a little achy, and my throat was starting to feel scratchy.
I had a reservation at the Bluezoo, and as usual I was not disappointed. If you have not tried it, you must
The bread basket alone is worth going for.
My initial plan was to have dinner, and check out some of the resort decorations. After dinner, I had really begun to feel bad,
so I ended up going back to the room and going to bed. Fortunately, I always bring a "just in case I get sick" kit. I could not believe I was getting sick on my vacation.
Day 2 - November 29 (Sunday)
When I woke up, I pretty much had no voice. I felt bad, but I was determined not to let it get the best of me. I went over to Walgreen's, and got some more stuff. The cough drops and throat spray did help. It must be a cold, because I did not totally lose my appetite.
The food at the Gospel Brunch was good as usual, but the singer who performed was a little disappointing. I guess I am just used to J. L. and Praise. Now it was time to go to the parks.
I went over to MK around 1:00 p.m. I saw the new show Tiana's Showboat Jubilee. I love this show. I asked a CM where the best place to see the show. This performance starts out with a processional from the Diamond Horseshoe, and goes over to the Liberty Square Riverboat. It is set to a New Orleans theme. The costumes are very colorful. Oh, they randomly give out special passes for about 20 guests to ride the Riverboat during the show, sort of how they did it during the YOAMD. Once the processional gets on the Riverboat, the show proceeds in front of the bridge by Splash Mountain and stops. This is the spot to be to see the show. After the show is over, about 20 minutes go by, and they return back and do a processional back the way they came. I taped all the parts of the show over the next few days. During the processional, the CM's do not block anything off. When the show cast comes through, the CM's direct people. The dancers also give out the Mardi Gras beads during the processional. Did I mention I love this show. It has a song that sticks in your head, "Goin down the Bayou.."
After this I headed over to Ak to see the Jingle Jungle Parade. This is another holiday part of Disney I love. I saw the FOTLK show.
A little later I headed over to DHS to see the Osborne Lights. Awesome as usual. The night air was starting to get to me, and I called it a night. I did not even make it through their EMH's. Not bad for having a nasty cold.
Day 3 - November 30 (Monday)
I woke up not feeling the best. I had an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's. As much as I used to love this place, sadly
I will not be going back anytime soon. The food is getting worse each time. Not even for the characters.
I headed over to AK for the morning EMH's. I watched the FOTLK show again. I had not seen my guy in the show yet, but I was going to keep trying. I did watch it twice.
After this I left, and headed back to the room. I have been taking plenty of pictures and videos, and I will try to post them when I get back. About 3:00 p.m., I headed over to T-Rex for lunch. I ordered the French Onion Soup, and the bruschetta appetizer. I left room for the Ice Age Indulgence desert. All I can say is yummy, yummy, yummy.
I headed back over to MK to see Spectromagic and Wishes. I took some pictures, and finally rode SP. I rode it twice. Once in the standby line, and once with a FP. The video games they have in the standby line are really cool. It does pass the time, although it wasn't even a 30-minute wait through this part. When you get to the top where you can see the ride, this is where I don't like it. The left side line goes all the way back behind a wall with nothing. The right side is pretty much as it was before. The ride is still dark, but I think there are a couple more drops. I can't remember. It has been a few months since it's been open. After this, I saw Mickey's Philharmagic, and called it a night. Thank goodness I had medicine. It is the only way I made it.
Day 4 - December 1 (Tuesday)
I still was not feeling that well, but I kept going. I had a breakfast at O'hana. Maybe this is the reason I did not enjoy it as much. Did they change the mixture for the juice? Please say it isn't so.
I headed over to AK, and saw the FOTLK show. Finally, my guy was in the show. Now I was happy. I went back to MK, and saw some more of the Tiana show. I went over to the GF to see their decorations. I don't know, but the Gingerbread House seemed smaller. I bought some goodies to take back home. I had an ADR at 1900 Park Fare, but cancelled it because I was starting to feel bad again. I went back to the room, and took some more medicine. About two (2) hours later, I started to feel a little better.
I headed over to the Boardwalk, Yacht, and Beach Club to get some pictures of their Christmas displays. Always love seeing their displays. Then I headed over to Epcot to see the CP. It was so beautiful. John Hurley was the narrator. Once again, the night air was getting to me. I called it a night.
Day 5 - December 2, 2009 (Wednesday)
I was going to finish this, but we are under a tornado watch until 4:00 a.m., and severe thunderstorm warnings. I guess I will finish it tomorrow, probably when I get back home. Even though I am sick, I am still having a great time. Stay tuned.popcorn:
