My ADR Success Story - and some tips for you!

Thank you for this- I would still be waiting on the "new" site for it to update- but instead I was able to get what I wanted!

Thanks! This really works! I got everything including BOG! :cool1:
Well I couldn't book afternoon tea because the site couldn't find the tea room but I will call for that one!

This system works perfectly! (Although being in Canada there's no new/old site issues to worry about.)
This morning was 180+10 and I got all my ADRs, including BOG and Ohana at pretty much the exact times I wanted. And I was even able to go back to sleep for another couple of hours afterwards...

I was 180+ today as well and beyond ecstatic to get BOG reservations for the day we wanted!! We got all the dates and times we wanted for all the restaurants :) Too bad our trip is so far away!!!

My adr experience was successful, but definitely not smooth sailing! I used the UK site right at 6 am, associated my dining plan and booked my first adr no problem (CRT 8:05 on day 6 of our stay). After that, it all went downhill! I'd find my desired restaurant, plug in my info and when I'd try to book it I'd get an error message. This happened several times. I'd start over and notice that my dining plan kept "disassociating" itself from my search? I logged into My Disney app on my phone and low and behold two of the adrs that had come back with error messages actually went through!! I was making little headway by the time 7 am rolled around so I called, got a cm right away and was able to book everything I wanted.
Via Napoli 7pm
Crystal palace 6:30 pm
Kona 8:20 am
Boma 6 pm
Kouzzina 6:30 pm
Mama Melrose fantasmic 12 pm
Chef Mickey 7 pm
San Angel Inn 7 pm
CRT 8:05 am
The bottom line is, if you get errors upon booking with the UK site, check your app...it may have gone through! Great luck to all!

I am trying the UK site as everyone suggests but still getting the new system once I click on make dining reservations. How is everyone getting the old site through that link?

Okay, I admit it. I was a know-it-all. I thought I knew all the tricks. Besides, when I had to book our 180+10 in October for the now-cancelled April trip, I went online at 6am and got all of our ADRs with no problem at all....so I should've had no problem today with ADRs for our October trip, right?

WRONG!!!!

I glanced at this thread, and saw this post, but didn't take the time to read it. BIG mistake! I had all my windows open. I linked everything to our ressie. I was ready to go with my ADRs in the order that I needed to book them, Be Our Guest 1st, CRT 2nd, etc...

...and then the "new" dining site wouldn't book past 180 days. It would pop up 180+10 on the main calendar, but whenever I tried to make an ADR, I got an error message.
:furious:
I not-so-patiently kept trying the site to no avail. At 7am on the nose I connected to Disney Dining by phone and did all the tricks to skip the prompts but still was placed on hold.
:rolleyes1
In the meantime, I came back here and started reading this post. ((smacks self on forehead)) As soon as I opened the "old" site I was able to make ADRs, but unfortunately, BoG showed no availability for our chosen night, one of only two nights we'd be at MK. Grrrrr....Probably because it was our first full day and therefore only 181 days out so others have been able to book it for 9 days or so. I was able to score a not-so-great 4:55pm on our last night in the parks, but that meant lots of shuffling of other plans and missing out on a family favorite. *sigh* The good news is, although a lot of our ADRs had to be reorgnaized or even lost because of the BoG switch, I did manage to get all of the rest within 15 or 20 minutes of my desired time, including CRT.
:lovestruc
So you may have noticed how I said earlier that I started to read this post? Well I missed the tip about if you have an odd number in your party and there's no availability, that you should try for an even number - 4 instead of 3. ((smacks self in forehead again)) I read that part at around 4pm and raced back to the site, but by then there was nothing for a party of 4...or 6 for that matter!

So the lesson, boys and girls, is never let yourself think you know it all. Sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks! And always, ALWAYS say thank you to the people who helped teach you those tricks.

So thank you. Even if though we missed BoG, we'd probably have missed out on a lot more if it weren't for you all!
:disrocks:
Now off to try to figure out how to restructure things around MNSSHP!

Thank you for posting these instructions!

I can make our ADRs on 4/22 and was concerned since I don't know much about the new Disney website and how the 180+10 would work. So glad to know I can use the old website!

We are the 21 or 22 I can't remember which... You arriving oct 19? I can't wait to make our ADR's

Thank you for this!
Being from Canada, we don't have access to the new My Disney experience site (although it might be a blessing in disguise from what I'm reading...) and I've been trying to get an ADR for a Fantasmic Diner package but the calendar won't show dates further than April :confused3
I even called yesterday evening and the CM looked and told me everything was sold out for my date (08/04). Since I didn't believe this and thought that his system was the same I was trying to use, I searched again here and I found your post :woohoo:
I was able to book my F! package for my date by doing exactly what you said : enter the date manually! :yay:
Thanks again!
The Dis rocks :cool1:

I have a quick question about the Fantasmic dinner package... I've seen the Fantasmic show at Disneyland and it was gorgeous, but is was pitch dark as well. When I went to book our reservation at WDW for June, the only times were for noon and 330pm to eat. What are the actual show times? It's going to be light out 'til 8pm in mid-June! (and thank you! I've been lurking here a while, soaking up the knowledge!)

Actually, the F! Package gets you tickets to bypass the line and gets you into a reserved section of the theater (although not the best ones, I do believe these are still pretty good and it still beats waiting on that horrendous line!). So even if you get the lunch package, the show will still be in the dark as you'll get your tickets at the end of your meal but will have to wait for the evening to use them at the show. On our date (08/04), we'll eat at Mama Melrose at 1:30pm but the show is at 9pm, so we'll come back around 8pm :)

Tanooki, that is EXACTLY the answer I was looking for! Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

I used these same tips this morning. Today is my 180 day mark, and logged in a 5:55, and by 6:20 had every ADR i wanted: BOG, CRT, 1900PF, CM, CP (8:05 on a 9 am opening!!), and Ohana.

I was really stressing about getting any of them, but everything went well!:cool1:

Thanks so much Lisa! Followed your plan this morning and it worked great. Was able to get everything I wanted including BoG, Le Cellier, Artist Point and Ohana. The only thing that stinks is that I live in NM so I had to be up uber early to get this done. Totally worth it though. One tip I would add is that when you are searching for reservations, look for specific times, don't choose the "breakfast, lunch, dinner" option from the pull down menu. It may give you times you aren't interested in when in fact there are times available. This way I was able to get an earlier time for BoG than 6:20. Don't want to miss the parade! Thanks again for posting this. This method really works folks!

I am so in awe that so many of you can plan that far in advance. Wow.

With two in college and one in elementary, me working and ex husband never answering, I thought I was doing well this year to book the hotel out six months early, but as usual, it had to be changed three months forward, leaving me less than two months to make all the ADRs. Just like every other time, actually a little better, usually I only have three weeks or less.

I felt great, I in the last month got all my ADRs, leaving in 24 days, this weekend finished them up with all the times I want. I have CRT, ttfdp, ohana, chef Mickey, BBB, tusker and the princesses at Epcot, 1900, three for bog and all at the times we wanted for our two weeks there.

Just wanted to let others know it can be done if you are not this organized, I have to change dates and times, sometimes but really this is the first time I have had them all within 3 weeks of going. Last two times we went I only got the hotel a month early

Thank you so much for posting this! I followed your tips last night and I was ready to go first thing this morning. I only needed to make 1 reservation... BOG of course! I was a little worried since the day I wanted is 7 or 8 days into our trip but... I got it! We will be at BOG on the 19th of October to celebrate my 31st birthday!!! pixiedust:

Thank you so much for posting! I am anxiously waiting for Sunday morning to book our ADRs, and this is JUST the info I needed! THANK YOU!
