My ADR Success Story - and some tips for you!

Thank you so much for this post. I was able to get all of the reservations I wanted, including BoG, for our upcoming trip. I had two possible days that I was hoping to get a BoG reservation for and was only able to get the one that was towards the end of our trip. The earlier date was not available. This was for a party of 6 and my ideal time was not available but I was happy to get an ADR. :goodvibes

The new/US site is sooooo slow with so many extra steps that I would have gone crazy trying to get all my ADRs, so thanks again. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for these tips. My ADR day is Tuesday. I'm traveling for work so I was already stressed about trying to do this on hotel wifi and bleary eyed from a bad night of sleep in a hotel. :coffee:

I had my spreadsheet with times, dates, and ordered by priority. I played around in the old site yesterday and noticed I was losing my reservation connection...but I was not following these handy steps.
I'll also try the trick for looking for 4 instead of 3 for BOG since that seems to be one with the problems.

Thanks again! Come on BOG ressie!

I tried a few practice runs since my ADR day is coming soon...when I click this link in the instructions it gives me an error message?? Sometimes it will work and sometimes not. And, when it does work, it gives me the msg when I click on make dining res?? Can someone offer any suggestions as to what I should do?

And, thanks to OP for this info...awesome!! :thumbsup2

I got all of the ADRs I wanted this morning! Including BOG. Thank you for the info!

Great post. This was definitely pretty much how I did things for our trip last year. I planned that one 9 months out. I remember my ADR day was Christmas Eve.

This year's trip was not planned that way. I was really thinking of going to the beach this summer, but my little people want to return to Disney so badly. My little boy who has had an explosion verbally since turning 3 in January had a particularly convincing argument. :lmao:

Only started planning for this June trip late February, but we are not on the dining plan this time so I wasn't after many ADRs. I managed BBB for dd at the castle so I was thrilled. Can't get Ohana (at least not yet) but I have an ADR at Kona instead to at least get the potstickers, noodles and sticky wings.

Sorry for that rambling. Anyway, I really posted to say thanks because I had forgotten about adding a person when unable to get a table for an odd number of people. I put in 4 instead of 3 for one of our days and just scored an 8:10am breakfast at Crystal Palace.

And our trip is in 6 weeks. :cool1:

Great suggestions, particularly having your desired ADRs in priority order and ready to go. One other thing we did to try to improve our odds of getting harder to book restaurants was to book them near the end of our trip -- the idea being that the later they are in your trip, the fewer people have already had a chance to book that date in their 180+10 window. We got a 6:00 BOG ADR on our last night at WDW (6/13). I can't be sure we wouldn't have gotten it on another night, but my guess is it would have been less likely.

I want to do this too but can't figure out when my plus ten will end. I want to book February 26 so my check in should be the 16th right in order to get that as my last night?

Then I could book August 20th. Do I have that right? Is the plus ten including check in date or not?

I believe it includes the check in day. So, August 20th you should be able to book for the dates of Feb 16-25. I think you could book the 26th the following day?

Yay, I'm so glad this was helpful, so many people here have been helping me, and I learned all this from other Dis-ers and Liners, and thought I'd put it all in one place...

Just snagged a BOG for exactly when we wanted it in October. I searched for 3 guests and he searched for 4 guests, I came up empty on the odd number but his came right up! We also got every other ressie we wanted within 5 minutes of requested time. Thank you so much for posting these tips! Now I can go back to sleep!

Thank you for such helpful info! Just finished making our last ressie. We too were able to get BOG on a MNSSHP night!! We got everything we truly wanted at the exact time we wanted and a few others within a half hour which is fine. I just feel like celebrating. Well, it is Sunday I think when DH wakes up this calls for a Bloody Mary! Now I wish they would open the HDD and LUAU for Oct.:cool1:

Yay, we just got all if our ADRs too!!!! Only one (Via Napoli) that was 10 min off the requested time we put in! Awesome! BOG not a problem, CP pre-RD not a problem!!!

I was a little worried yesterday when I kept getting the new site, but I typed in 'dining' after the link on the first page, got and error page, went back up to the menu and it worked. Just a tip if anyone has some trouble.

Thanks again!!!

Just wanted to add that while dates for the HDD and Luau are not loaded on line you can make a ressie on the phone at 7:00am. :)

THANK YOU!!!
GOT all the restaurants I want except for BOG on the first night. Which is not too surprising I guess.
:)

Awesome tips! I used your tips, and I was able to get everything we wanted, including BOG and CP! :) Can't wait!

I forgot it was reservation day, and I forgot to set my browser up in advance, but when I finally remember this morning (5:45 CT), I ran down to my computer, had a harrowing time logging in, but I was able to snag BOG for perfect times for two nights during our trip using the British site! Thanks for that tip!

Just wanted to add my thanks for the tips also. We visit WDW 3-4 trips a year and for the past year or more I've not gotten the +10 to work. Mostly because of Disney's website, but having DVC reservations has also created difficulty. Using the old link worked like a charm. I had no problem making my ADRs this morning to include LeCellier and BOG for a party of 6 at my desired time. Since my reservation is 14 days, I still have a few more to add but it was the easiest I've had in so long I can't remember. I know that getting into BOG is extremely hard now and while I don't know if I want to eat there in October, it is much easier to book and cancel. We are leaving next week and will be eating at BOG for our first time and if we love it, it's nice knowing I've got my ADR for October already. If we hate, then we will cancel it. I'm guessing you can't make HDD reservations at the 180 day mark? I didn't get that window to come up. No big deal, we are flexible so can wait.
