My address, someone else's name...can I get the code?

The postcard came to my address, however it was sent in a friend's name who I shared a room with on a previous trip. After speaking with her to be sure she did not want to use the code, I decided I would like to use it. Can I still use it Anyone have this happen?

I got one to my address in the name of my daughter's friend. They let me use it.

I have read that a few people were succesful booking a trip using a code in someone elses name, as long as your address is on that card, you're good to go now get booking will ya ?!?!

To answer n2mm-no there is NOTHING attached to my name or anyone in my family for that matter. Matter of fact there was nothing with my address, yet I have a card

Was there a code attached to your name also? The CM I just spoke with said that the person who's name the code is attached to must be on the reservation because it is non transferrable. Those are the "rules", yet she gave me 2 quotes, 1 with my friend on the ressie, 1 without and both with the code

I'm not trying to start a debate or "cheat" Disney, but if I were to put her on the ressie now and then take her off later would that work or am I breaking the WDW moral code? It kinda seems to me like that was what the CM was suggesting.

I have no idea if the code was attached to my name. I told her that a postcard came to MY address and i wanted to use it. She didn't seem to have a problem with it.

I got one yesterday with my address and what must be a former owner of our house. We just bought it in November. Are they just torturing me or do you think I can use it?

If you are allowed to use that code, let me know please. I received a code in the mail at my address with my Dad's name. I called to use it and they said no. I would be interested in knowing the outcome to see if I should keep trying.

Hey everyone, I think you all that received postcards should get the discount. I'd simply state that I received a postcard with my correct address but incorrect name. I'm thinking CRO has to be able to search for the code via address to see you are telling the truth. Good luck! Post back to let us know if you got it.

It seems as if it would be 50% yours to say the least. It may have her name (50% correct) but it has your address (the other 50%). Look at it as if it's not that it has the wrong address, it has the wrong name. I don't think that is cheating. I say book it and take the card. You know the old saying about possession!

I would call back. The same thing happened to me. The first cast member told me my mom had to call to get the code. The second time I called I gave them the code first and they said it was attached to my "household" so I could use it. The third time I called the CM said no problem as long as it is attached to my household in some way.
