My 24-Day Countdown to Disney- Sep 2016 Family Reunion

So I've decided to do my own PTR, only a little bit different from ones I've read in the past. Today marks 24 days until our famous WDW family getaway/reunion, and the answer is YES...we are as excited as is humanly possible! 7 days in the most magical place on Earth! Woot woot!

Allow me to introduce myself and my family. I am Adam, the OP/DIS planner/compulsive user of emoticons (LOL) in the family. Then there is my DW, Mickey, (yes, that is her name!) and our 3 kids: DD8 Felicity, DS5 Levi, and DD3 Addison.

We will be meeting up with my parents, siblings, and my only niece...however, for the sake of simplicity, we will focus on the names mentioned above. Here we are:

24 Days....
So, the title should say it all. We are 24 and counting 'til our next Disneyworld Trip! Although technically, it's 25, but we LEAVE for Disney (driving) in 24 so.....that counts, right?!? LOL. Somehow it just seems to make the time go faster.

Anyway, we are staying at POR for 7 days and going to the parks for 5. We will be taking a break mid-week just to relax and enjoy the resort. Were also able to get FD (thank you, sis!), score!!!

So, for this PTR, I will be posting the number of days left ('til we leave) along with some fun Disney facts that go along with that day's number. Cool right!? Anyway, hope you enjoy and find it interesting. Here goes!

Today is 24 days...for this we go back to 1924! Walt Disney sold a series of animated short films to M.J. Winkler based on Alice in Wonderland. The shorts were black and white and silent. It was also the birth year of several Disney stars: Don Knotts, Fess Parker (Davy Crockett), and Rod Serling (nod to the ToT ride)!

23 Days...
For today, we need look no further than D23, the official fan club of Disney. It was founded in 2009 and has gained popularity through its annual D23 Expo. Many exciting updates to the Disney universe are shared at this yearly event.

The "23" comes from 1923, which was the year Walt Disney arrived in California. It was also the year he founded Walt Disney Studios! It's impressive to see how he started and where things are today. To use Walt's words: "And to think it all started a mouse." (happy tears)

For me, not much changed in the planning stages today. My amazing DS did most of the footwork ahead of time, so now we simply wait and watch the trip countdown meter move SLOOOOWLY toward September. Honestly! I thought Christmas took forever when I was 8....this is brutal! But let's me honest...the waiting in some ways, is part of the fun. We are all full of anticipation! So excited to get back to our "home away from home". That's all for now...thanks for reading!!!
