Zhu Zhu pet $13
Zhu zhu pet flushed down toilet, got stuck, toilet broke while DH was trying to fish it out.
New toilet $200
equals $213

last month same child broke a $400 window with a $3 bottle of nail polish that he threw at his dad because he was mad.

......No flames on my son's behavior please, he's developmentally delayed. I'm just sharing how much these little mistakes are blowing my budget.....

:) My son went through a stage where he flushed EVERYTHING down the toilet, too. We had to buy a whole new toilet and install it! Craziness :)

Eeek!! Sorry about that! We bought our very first zhu zhu pet for Easter, and within a few days, less then a week, it won't GO, it talks and all, but won't move. I really do not want to buy another one. I was thinking of getting a few accessories for it, but now that it is not moving. I don't want to spend the money on it.

OMG, so crazy! One day you will look back and laugh. Everyone tells me that every time my son breaks something...which is quite frequently.

Our toilet downstairs was having problems for a couple mos. My FIL came to visit and decided to take it apart and get to the bottom of it. He found a Little People lodged in the pipe. I totally know how that goes!

Lets see my kids have:

1) broken a laptop because they pulled on the power cord (thinking it was the power cord for a game system)

2) broken another laptop -- my husbands work laptop-- because they tried the bucket of water on the the top of a door trick and the water went down the walll right on TOP of DH's laptop...

3) laid down a bike on the wall (no kickstand) and created a hole in the wall. Needed drywall and repainted wall

4) kids were playing and a ball hit the programmable thermostat-- cracked it.

There are more.. but those are few that I know of right now.

We all have moments/times that like.

My daughter thought it was cool to pop the keys off my Apple laptop and broke 5 of them. I have no caps lock, shift key on the left, the function key and 2 other keys I have no idea what they even are. :confused3

Cost of a new Mac keyboard: $80. So, here I sit typing on it without those keys. :rotfl:

So far my 2 y/o has flushed an iPod, a cell phone, and a Nintendo Dsi.

OP, so sorry! That stinks!

Along with everyone else, my kids break lots of stuff. My son broke a window twice, once on Thanksgiving, (Happy Thanksgiving). Of course I can't have anything around this house without them "destroying" it. My DS12 seems to be very flippant about caring for stuff lately, and pretty much slammed the top on my brand new grill down. He slams the toilet lid down, and all three pounce on the chairs and the sofas...Drives me nuts :furious:, but at the end of the day it's just stuff and I'd rather have my kids than stuff. No wait...let me think about that one... ;)

At least she didn't take any of the letter or numbers, LOL!

aw, I feel your pain! I bought a $7 Kaboom toilet cleaner at BBB. 2 months later, toilet started leaking. Plumber came, yep...Kaboom cleaner broke it! $100 later....

That stinks.

My kids break so much and it is pure luck my toilet has never been messed with

definately been there.
My 6yr old was using my new camera(wasnt even a month old) to make a video after church last week, then decided to shoot the inside of his mouth(to see what it would look like), well the moisture ruined the camera, so now I have to wait for it to be fixed. My 19 month old also has used my cell phone as a teether,

You will look back and laugh.

It may take a while to get better. DD12 seems to be growing about an inch a week these days. I think it's making her a bit clumsy. Today I started calling her "Grace" after about the 10th "oops" dropping, slamming, etc. incident.

Good luck!

When my friends bought their current house they couldn't figure out why their powder room toilet flushed so slow and had to be unclogged all the time. Her husband took the toilet apart and figured he would just replace it. He found 6 matchbox cars in the base of the toilet from the previous owners son. Once they were removed the toilet worked great!

With 5 boys in the house I could go on and on and on..but recently..

Couple of weeks ago DS12 decides to *knock* on the sidelight window of the door with his foot...twice and it went through. Funny thing is I had just ordered a whole new door 2 days before. Still made him pay for the cost of the plywood and DH's time to patch it til it comes in.

Same DS12 gets a new DSi for xmas and is fooling around at the top of the stairs with DS 13 and DSi flies out of his pocket, bounces down the stairs onto the ceramic tiles and breaks. FIL decides to take it out to the garage and 'fixes' it..which meant he made a trip to Future Shop :rolleyes1

DS 4 stuck my cell phone in the resevoir of the water cooler

and the biggie...

2 weeks after our new $2500 TV arrives DS4 scratches the crap out of it with a Rockband drum stick. That will learn DH to buy expensive stuff while the kids are still young!

Ahhh so many more of those days to come:)

I was thinking back to when I was 4 and thought it would be fun to put my fake keys in my parents car and try to turn it on. Yeah, my key broke off in in the ignition and they had to to relace it. They were not to happy. I still remember that day like it was yesterday!

my kid has never broken (or lost) anything... IT IS MY HUSBAND!

iPod #1- left on a plane in the seat pocket, gone for good
iPod #2- he went on a trip to Europe and came home was no longer working
iPod #3- went to Europe again and iPod stopped working <again>. Turns out the converter/charger he was using was wrong and was melting the battery
new cell phone- left in rental car, called Hertz immediately in the terminal. It was already stolen by an employee
left passport in a hotel safe
lost 2 pairs of Rx sunglasses on business trips
left expensive travel pillow on plane
left CD's in a rental car
left something on my dresser that runined the finish- luckily was able to get repaired
contantly new stains appearing on carpet, but of course he didn't do it. I really need to catch that elf that keeps getting stains on my carpet. :rolleyes1

This is just a few things off the top of my head, I could go on for ever...

Put new batteries in it. It says in some trouble-shooting thing somewhere that talking but not moving is a sign of weak batteries. Ours did the same thing - I'm guessing that they were not great batteries and that every kid who saw it kept pushing it's nose.

LOL.. These will make good stories for years to come.:rotfl:

We built a house 3 years ago. We weren't in it for more than 2 months when the downstairs toilet stopped working. My FIL told me to call the builder and get him to send his plumber over. He told me to be "firm" so they didn't try to take advantage of me.
So I was firm that we did nothing to cause the problem.
Until he removed the toilet from the wall and fished out a half eaten Granny Smith apple.. and my 3 year old took one look and ran upstairs:rotfl2:

Yeah.. I was a little emabarassed:rolleyes1
