MVMCP, Worth the $?

stacyleigh, I'm not sure we will go this year or not but our trip is Nov 15-22 so I'm entertaining the idea. You said you've been the first couple dates in Nov. and the ride lines weren't bad. That's my main worry, is the crowds. My problem is though that we would not come in as early as 4 but rather 6-7 in the evening and I'm not sure what ride lines are like AFTER the party itself starts. Can you tell me?
I also don't understand getting a spot for fireworks because you can see them everywhere pretty much? Are the fireworks themselves different than the Wishes ones? Obviously the music is but I wasn't sure if that was all.

The ride lines are nonexistent. Most people going to the party are there for the special Christmas stuff, not to ride the rides- which is great if you're one of the people who want to go on the rides! We spent most of the time doing the Christmas things, but DS3 also wanted to do a lot some of the rides over in Fantasyland that we hadn't done earlier because of the lines. We walked right on Small World, Dumbo, and Snow White. The only ride that had a line was the Peter Pan ride, and I think the line was bad because it had been shut down for repairs for a couple hours earlier.

The fireworks are different, but once again, can be watched anywhere in the park. There is a small show before the fireworks, but I was okay missing it since there are so many other shows going on in the park (A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, Celebrate the Season show, etc.).

i hated it. The crowds were so bad that I couldn't get from place to place.

one of the nights we went to was terribly crowded on Main Street for the fireworks/parade, but the ride lines were minimal, and the other night was hardly anyone there. Seems to vary quite a bit. Our last day in the park the party was sold out, and we were so glad to be leaving in the evening as the crowds were coming in! (that was the first friday of Pop Warner and when they started filming for the Christmas parade).

We're a family of 5 and attended twice this past Christmas, and really enjoyed ourselves. Of course I love Christmas, and hearing the Christmas music in the park and riding the rides, the holiday dressed characters, the parade, the fireworks, cocoa and cookies were all magic for us. Of course the kids really liked the holiday decorations on Mickey and Minnie's country houses, so sad they are gone now.

Now to get the most out of the $$ tickets, I recomend you don't go to the park that day, rather sleep in, go to DTD or hang out at your resort, then just use your MVMCP tix to get in to the park around 4pm. If you want to do a character meal or TS dining, do that before 7 pm as well. But from 4-12 is a good eight hours at the park!

Also, be prepared for some cooler temps! I swear we were the only people in sweaters last Dec, and got stopped multiple times and asked where in the park we bought them. Um we checked the weather forcast, and packed them. Yes if you are from somewhere snowy and cold, 40 or 50 might seem like it will be warm, but at night in the parks, with a breeze, you will be cold!

Thank you for the awesome advice! The party date for us is on our day of arrival so I won't be purchasing a ticket for that day! Thanks for saving me some money! Wait-I don't have to have a park ticket plus the MVMCP ticket right?

You can get into the MK at 4pm with just a party ticket. If you want to get in earlier than 4p you will need a park ticket too
