MVMCP- Worth $250??

We were considering going to MVMCP if the AP/DVC discount was available during our trip. We did attend MNSSHP and had fun but DD did fall asleep and missed the parade and fireworks. This is our first time going to WDW in December, and we have no idea as to when we might be able to go back during this time so that factors into the decision. Does the party tend to be less crowded earlier in the month? We will be ther 12/2-12/7.

...it was worth it. The crowds were smaller, the chocolate and cookies were bigger and better, the family photos with characters were free, you got a free button as a souvenir.

When we went for the first time in 2003 this is the way it was.

When we went back in 2004 they no longer did the buttons. Now you are paying over $15 a person more with less value. Not even the free photo. When we went in 2004 we went with my niece's family. I asked in DD11 and ny great nephew could have their photo taken together. I was told no because he already had his pic taken. What should that matter? I said ok forget it and we were leaving. Another photographer saw me and said she'd do it. We enjoyed the parties more a few years ago but would never go again. Our last one was Sept 5 for MNSSHP and we hated it. Hallowishes were less than 15 mins long and the parade was shorter and very rushed. Just no longer worth it.

As if my 2-cents were needed.... :rolleyes1
We were there for the very first year it was offered... actually, as I recall, as part of a "package". And if you had asked me this question back then, I would have told you that it was worth every penny. (with children but ages 13 thru 18) :thumbsup2
I have also been there many more times through the years. With, and without, children. :cool1:
We, that would be my wife and I, will be going again, this year... but it's just the two of us now.
However, I am in complete agreement with almost everyone else. The changes, over the years, have been dramatic - and certainly not for the better - and taking into consideration the ages of your children, and the amount of money it would cost you... I would have to say, IMHO... NOT WORTH IT ! :confused3

It dose not sound like ti is wroth it. I was thinking about going with my DFI however it sounds like the magic is gone however I want to go during the day on Christmas eve and Christmas day would that be worth it I want to see the magic Disney brings to the holidays

I was going to go with my in-laws and my 7 and 5 year old this November but this post is really making me reconsider. How are the earlier parties - less crowded? I was thinking on going to the first one, Nov. 10th. I have never been to any of the parties and was looking forward to it but if it is not worth it then maybe I should pass.

Although it's gotten pricey, I would go (from experience) once if it's affordable for your family. We loved it with our DD8 when we went in 2007 and she wants to go again this year (so does DH!). We particularly enjoyed Holiday Wishes, the (2nd) parade (much less crowded), the cocoa and cookies, the almost-empty ride lines while everyone else was watching the 1st parade, the dance parties, and the festive atmosphere. If you can't go at Christmastime, it's the next best thing, but it's quite a bit of money, so I know it's a tough decision.

Have a great time whatever you decide!

:sunny:

WE WENT IN 2007, WITH 16 AND 19 YR OLD GIRLS. THEY LOVED IT, BUT THEY LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT DISNEY. WE ONLY PAID $40 PER TICKET + TAX (TOTAL OF $169.60 FOR 4) SO WHEN YOU SAID $250, I WAS SHOCKED:eek:. WE WENT ON A WEDNESDAY AND IT WAS NOT CROWDED AT ALL BUT SOME OF THE RIDES WERE CLOSED. WE HAD NEVER BEEN AT CHRISTMAS BEFORE SO EVERYTHING AT DISNEY WAS MAGICAL. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT DO IT FOR $250. I WOULD NORMALLY SAY WAIT TILL THE KIDS ARE OLDER BUT IT IT IS GOING UP THAT MUCH EVERY OTHER YEAR, BY THE TIME YOUR KIDS GET 8-10-12 IT WILL BE $400! :scared1: TO GO.

We are seniors, so no children and bedtimes to consider. (Well, okay, our own.) We thoroughly enjoyed it, in early December, not crowded, and we are going back this year!!

$250 is a lot of money. We haven't been to MVMCP but have done P&P and MNSSHP. We love the party nights and our boys have so much fun. We will be doing our 1st MVMCP this year. I think the best way to know is to try it for yourself. You have some time to save some money if it's something you would really like to do then I say go for it!!

No, it's not worth it. We (family of four) did it in 2005 and won't do it again. Way too overpriced and we too are not night people.
