MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

Okay...I have a question....

When I look at the park hours for December as posted on the Dis site they list the MVMCP dates and they make note of the fact that you need a special ticket to attend...EXCEPT ON FRIDAYS...why is this? Is it just an oversite or is there something different about Fridays?

I noticed this too, and am curious as well.

Human error. It's an oversite.

Well, since my question got flat out ignored, i'll politely re-ask/post it, if everyone doesn't mind (i do need some helpful advice on this please guys...have to make my ADR this Sat morning..any advice will be greatly appreciated)

My wife and i are arriving on Dec 11th for the start of our first ever Xmas trip.

We're currently debating whether or not to attend the MVMCP on that day (it's a friday). I'm just nervous that it'll be way crowded since it's a friday (we can't go on any other night due to schedule conflicts). What do you guys think of attending the party on a friday night (Dec. 11th)

Thanks (best disney site ever!!!) :thumbsup2

I'd say go for it! My DD19 and I love the Xmas party. Have not been on a Fri, well maybe the first year we went, but now I'm not sure, but the crowd size is still somewhat limited so can't imagine a crowded party night is that terrible. We've actually had pretty good luck as far as crowds go. I think the fun perks or special to party only things are fun. The atmsosphere and snow on main street and the special xmas parade and fireworks are awesome!! Plus, using your party ticket only, you can enter the park at 4pm or after, and depending on your ticket situation, this could save a park ticket if that works for you or use it like a hopper if you have base tickets and go to a different park in the morning. Or rest at the resort during the day, or go to DTD daytime and MK after 4. So, my advice is go for the party! We actually love to go to cosmic rays for CS dinner so we can sit outside with a great view of the castle dream lights, and don't feel we're missing any of the party sitting inside somewhere. I think we did a TS late breakfast this day while using the dining plan. Hope you go and have great time! :santa:

Is it worth it for me (22) and my mom (55) to go? She isn't a big ride person and I can live without the big ones for this trip, so extra ride time wouldn't really matter to us. How different is the holiday Wishes from regular Wishes? Thanks for all of the great tips on here!

This is my first Christmas Party (can't wait!!) but I've been to several Halloween parties and Pirate & Princess Parties, and both my mom & I LOVE them. Neither of us are thrill ride people. We don't go for the extra ride time (though it is great, 2 years ago, it was the only time we could go on Pooh & Peter Pan the whole trip, any other time, the waits were crazy), but all the extras. The parade, fireworks, meet & greets. I would definitely recommend Disney's parties. I actually don't *love* Wishes, but I LOVED the Halloween fireworks more than anything, so I'm hoping the Christmas fireworks are almost as awesome. ;)

Oh no...Just when I decided I wasn't going to do the party I read your post and changed my mind!!

We are not doing MVMCP but we will be eating at WL the night of a party. We will have to catch a bus back to our resort from MK. This should be at around the time of the fireworks show. Will we be able to view from outside the gates? Has anyone ever done this on a party night?

Where can we find the princesses/princes, Belle/Beast and Mickey/Minnie?

Are the characters available to meet/greet during the parades?

We went with my sister's family in 2007 and I feel totally ripped off. She had us all go to the parade and Wishes and then leave. I had no idea that all of the other things go on, like the dance party, show at the Castle stage, etc. Thank you for posting this thread --- we're going to do it right this year!!!!

Belle/Beast was over in the stroller parking area by It's a Small World. They alternated with Snow White and her Prince. Also if it is raining, they won't be out during the rainstorm but do come out after it stops raining.

Minnie/Mickey are in Toontown. Mickey is in the Judges Tent and I don't remember where Minnie was just that she was in that area. DD9 didn't want to wait to see them. She was in such a bad mood that night. :confused3

The Princesses with their Princes were in the Toontown County Bounty building where it's usually just the Princesses. The fairies are right next door in the same building.

The characters in the judges Tent and County Bounty were there during the parade but none of the other characters were out during the parade (Pooh, Tigger and Piglet in Fantasyland, Belle/Beast, Scrooge McDuck but he is out all day too so you don't have to wait for him on MVMCP night).

And if you are into getting the special pins for MVMCP, The Frontierland Pin store was a great place to get them. There was no one in the place when DD and I stopped to get my pins. It was also a great place to get the MVMCP Sweatshirts too.

Have a great time on your MVMCP redo!

Hello,

We (2 adults + 11 yo) want to attend MVMCP on december 11th.

I also have a reservation at Dreams Come True Cinderella’s Royal Table in the castle for 6:15 PM. It’s the earliest time I could secure. I’m going to try to arrive earlier and hopefully get faster seating.

Is it worth missing a few things to have christmas dinner in the castle? Or will we miss too much of the party by dining in the castle until 7:30ish?

What I want to see most are :
- Snow on Main street
- Fire works (where’s are some good places to view from?)
- The 2nd parade (where do you suggest viewing from? What time does it begin?)
- A few rides
- I’m not hell-bent on seeing any stage shows or character greetings/photos…

My 11 yo is good at staying up late and will be fine with the AM bedtime

Any help will be greatly appreciated : )

We're going to MVMCP on December 13. I always thought they started letting people in at 4:00pm. I just read on another thread that they start letting people in at 2:00pm. Is that true? :confused3

The last three years that I went they always let us in at 4 pm, no sooner! I would assume they would do the same this year! Have an awesome time! :santa:

Answering a little late. Hope your still around.

The party doesn't start until 7 even though you can get in as early as 4 with your ticket. You won't miss too much.

We're going on our arrival day, 12/15!

Question about Wishes: We'll be seeing the Holiday Wishes at the party, and the only day of our stay that regular Wishes will show is the second day of our trip, 12/16. Should we make sure that is our MK day so we can see regular Wishes, or will be okay missing it since we saw the Christmas version?

(I think MK will be more crowded this day since it's one of the only days w/no MVMCP, so I'm not sure if I should plan that as our MK day.)

Thanks! :santa:

We just decided last week to go to Disney. I got right on the computer to secure our dining Reservations. We have a 4:05pm ressie for Cinderellas table on TUES.15th. I want to goto MVCP that night also and maybe another park that am. We do not have park hopper tickets. They say to arrive 30min prior to your reservation which would be around 3:30.

My question is will we have to use our regular park ticket or will they let us in early for ADR with our MVMCP tickets?

Doesn't matter that you have an ADR. They will not let you in any earlier than 4:00p with your party ticket (which is already 3 hours before the official party start time).

Get to the gate at least 3:45p. You will probably be about 10 minutes late but I'm sure they will hold the ADR for you.

Thanks, maybe it would be better to switch plans go in around 2:00pm and use our regular park ticket.

I want to make the most of the party. Since it wiil cost our family $300

:santa: This will be my family first Christmas time at Disney World (Dec. 13 to 20) and these tips are very helpful. Thanks again and can't wait for more

We will be attending on the 18th. I am sure it will be crowded as it is the last party. We don't care as we are just happy to be going! We have an early ressie at LTT and have a Wishes dessert buffet booked. We attended in 2002 and it was a magical night, we expect no less this time.
