Mvmcp Tickets

We have attended the MVMCP the last three years. We've always heard that you need to purchase this MVMCP ticket in addition to the regular admisson ticket. But at the gate only the MVMCP ticket is required. Can someone set me straight? Thanks.

My understanding is the MVMCP is a Hard Ticket event.Here is a definition:
"Hard Ticket Events are when the park closes early to the general public and reopens in the evening for a special themed event that requires a separate admission ticket. Examples of Hard Ticketed Events include: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party."

you do not need the regular admission ticket unless you want to go to Magic Kingdom prior to the party. You only need the MVMCP ticket for that night.

The past 2 or 3 years they have allowed admission after 4:00pm with just the MVMCP ticket. We arrived about 4:15 on Dec 9 and just used our MVMCP and got our wristbands to stay in the park past 6:00 closing. A cm posted that they decided to do this to help prevent a huge line at the bag check around the official 7:00 party opening. This extra time was great for us, ride lines were short.

We entered MK at 4:10 for MVMCP on MVMCP ticket and did not have to use a day on our Park Hoppers.

We went on 12/16 and we were let in with just the MVMCP ticket. But...they won't let you in until 4:00 and not a minute sooner.

I agree with cat1239. When we purchased the tickets, the cm who sold us the tickets told us that we could be admitted at 4:00.
