We just got back from the 11/11/11 MVMCP which was sold out. This review is mainly for those people that are not interested in characters.
The rides were mainly walk on or under 10 minutes all night except Buzz was about 20 minutes at 10:00 pm and Peter Pan and Winnie were about 20 minutes at 11:00 pm. We rode during the Party time - Pirates, Splash (twice in a row since no lines so the CM just asked us if we wanted to ride again), Thunder Mountain, Haunted House, Peter Pan, Snow White, Philharmagic, Small World, Tea Cups and Tommorrowland Speedway. So you have an idea we worked mostly clockwise starting at Adventureland and moving to Frontierland, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, and lastly backtracked to Fantasyland.
We also got treats at Columbia Harbour House and Bay 1 of Cosmic Ray's with lines under 3 minutes in each.
We watched the fireworks while eating at Cosmic Ray's. The lines to eat at Cosmic Ray's at 9:15 were about 2-3 people each. The dance party in Cosmic Ray's was also about 1/2 full at that time.
We did not do any character lines but from what we saw all seemed fairly manageable (15 people or less) with the exception of the dwarves which was to the play area by Splash Mountain. We also did not watch the parade but at 8 pm the crowd for the parade in Frontierland was just one person deep so it would have been easy to get a fairly good spot. We were in Fantasyland during the second parade. We saw the end of Celebrate the Season show (the 11:20 showing) as we were leaving (while it snowed on Main Street
) and there was a very light crowd in front of the castle for that show.
We avoided Main Street since we assumed that would be crazy so I can't report on the crowds there or to meet the Princesses, Santa, or Mickey and Minnie. We were on Main Street at 6:45 pm or so since we had to get a jacket as it was pretty cold that night and we were wet from an earlier ride on Splash Mountain and it was PACKED with people leaving and coming in.
We left at about 11:45 just as a ferry was leaving. We got on the next ferry which was about 50-60% full.
All in all we were glad we went and found that if you are there for the rides with a dash of the holidays then even a sold out night was worth the price.
I am going again on December 2nd and this time will do the parade, the show and some characters as I will be going with a 2 year old.
