mvmcp 2006 tips only

I totally agree about the picture! Disney has really cheapened down the parties since photopass has started. I tend to think it won't be included since the halloween pics weren't. Couldn't they at least GIVE a gift of a picture, i mean, it IS Christmas after all!

Iwas at MNSSHP this oct, and although you didn't get a free photo---they gave you 50% off any photo pass pics that you got that night------which i thought was great-----because they had so many different halloween set-ups to take pics at, we bought a whole bunch!!! do they not have different set-ups at the xmas party????(just one type of back-drop???)i was hoping there would be different ones-------we had MNSSHP written on ours at the photopass place----maybe they are leaning toward doing it this way------that way you have more pictures to buy!!!!

I was at the Halloween Party on the 16th, the nice backdrops were very nice and it was nice to get 50% off the picture. Another nice thing was it was 50% off ALL your photopass pics, not just the halloween one. Still, I think for the holidays, Disney could do it better. In the past, the Christmas pictures have only had one backdrop but then again, so did the halloween ones up until this year so we won't know til the first party i guess.

I just liked the extra treat of having a picture. It's hard to justify the extra money for the Christmas party (I'm a college student and EVERY dollar is important to me!)

I don't buy pictures. I think it's a waste of money and I'll take it myself. I loved having it though.. because it was the only one I had and it was special. I Didn't have to try to justify the purchase.

I know exactly what you mean! i used to love when it came in the mail and i was excited to see how it turned out. I just can't get over how disney keeps raising prices across the board and we just keep paying them. I could understand if the price increase was the result of better service, better food, more for your money at the events, but everything is trending downward slow but sure. I still love disney though, lol. :goodvibes

Okay, I tried to keep up on this thread - and I'm sorry if this has been already answered and I missed it - but my question is: since we will be arriving/checking in to our hotel on December 21 with plans to attend the Christmas party - what time would you suggest we head over to the MK for entrance to the party... we are only attending the party (not using our regular admission tickets). I know that the party starts at 7:00, but I wasn't sure what time they would start admitting guests with just the party tickets.
Thanks for all your help.

One more quick question.. I think I have read that for the Halloween party there are free strollers available. If this is correct, than is it also true for the Christmas party??

How expensive are these pictures?

momof2dizkids - You can probably get in at 4 - that's what they've done in the past, but it could always change.

They start letting party goers enter after 4:00p.

Strollers are free during the party.

The photos are the same price as all other Photopass pictures; $12.95 but you get them at 50% off for the party so they are $6.50.

Yup. When I called, that's what the CM told me! :thumbsup2

Where do they take the photos? Where do you go to pick them up?

When it was free, in the past, there were 3 or 4 locations with one backdrop and you just got in line and had it taken and then it was mailed to you.

This year, if it is no longer free and is now part of Photopass (like MNSSHP photos were), then there will be a few Photopass opportunities. My 'guess' is there'll be character photopass locations, Cinderella's carriage again just past IASW, and various other photo opportunities.

The photos will be put on a special MVMCP Photopass card (with the 50% discount info on the back) and you can buy it at the Photo shop before you leave the park (it will be very crowded) OR you can do what I did and buy them when you get home. I was even able to add the MNSSHP 2006 special border to my photos so I'm sure they'll have special borders for MVMCP as well.

OHhh there is a special photopass card? thats awesome. I might pick up a couple when I get home, then.. 6.50 isn't too bad for something like that.

Yes, IF they handle MVMCP photos like they did at MNSSHP then there will be a special MVMCP Photopass card with the discount info on the back.

We should know for sure after November 13 what the official scoop is.

i know i payed less than 6.50/5x7, but then again i got more than 5 pictures----it gets discounted more as you buy more photos--------hoping they have LOTS o' areas to get pics this xmas---------the coach was great with all the real pumpkins around.........would be beautiful with all xmas lights/ decos!!!
can't wait to see if they do it!!!!!!!

Disney executive offices just called me about an email I sent them about our MNSSHP experiences this year and we also discussed MVMCP as well.

She told me that MVMCP's photos will work the same way as MNSSHP did this year. No more free photo. It will also be the 50% off any Photopass photos you have taken that night.

Also, just an FYI...but we also discussed Country Bear Jamboree not changing to Christmas theme this year and she confirmed it and said it was probably not coming back (meaning not just this year) but she did say that they are listening, meaning if enough people complain, they could possibly bring it back. She said it was due to money.

I also voiced my disappointment in the price going up every year but no free button, no free photo, less (rare) characters around, and no Rudolph (and the Witch for MNSSHP) during the fireworks.

It was great having Disney's ear for a few minutes! :)

Is the 50% off photopass only good while you are there or do you 50%off when you order from home as well?
Thanks!

I know it's good for 30 days after you get home, but do you get the 50% off of the pics you order form home?
