For those attending on Dec.7th, be sure to look to the Northeast at 9:38pm to see the (scheduled) launch of the space shuttle Discovery. (This is the first night launch since 2002.) I'm hoping we can see her in the night sky! (If not, maybe the launch will be delayed until the 9th and we can see it from Port Canaveral aboard the Magic! WISHful thinking!)

Ok for those directionally challenged among us, which way is Northeast? Say if you are at the Castle, what land do you look over? We will actually be at CR with a MK view, will we be able to see it form the room?

Me too I will be there for my first one on Dec 5th. Hope to see some of you there . THere are a lot of us disers going.

First, can you take your own pictures at these photopass locations, or do they only let you use the backdrops/character locations if you let them make the pictures?

Secondly, I understand that you get 50% off the pictures if you use the Photopass card, but do you have to pay something for it to start with (as you can see, I know absolutely nothing about how the Photopass works).

Normally, I probably wouldn't buy the pictures, but this is DD's BF's very first trip ever to Disney, and I think they might like some mementos.

Yes, you can take your own photos or ask a CM to take it for you.

No, you do not pay a thing for having the Photopass photos taken. You only pay if you want to buy any of the photos. The special 50% off MVMCP Photopass card will only be good for that night. Then you hold on to it and can buy the ones you want. All other Photopass photos you have taken for the rest of the trip will be on a 'regular' Photopass card (no discount). So you will have at least 2 Photopass cards if you attend MVMCP.

You can combine the cards to one account when you get home and view them online.

Planning a Christmas trip for 2007. What is the usual last date for the Christmas Party? I'm looking at flying in On Dec 22? How are the parks leading too Christmas? Christmas Eve? I know the parks are very busy the week between Christmas and NY....what about just before?

Thank you

Hello everybody!
I have a question about the tickets
We want to go to the party in 12/21..And since it's our first time,I've been reading lots of things about it and I wanted to know if we can or not buy the tickets early, because I'm a little confused about it,since I'm brazilian..
But oh,I'm so excited for the trip!We arrive 12/16..It's the first time I'll be there for christmas!

Yes, you can (and should) buy them early, either online or by the phone. That night will probably sell out so I'd buy them as soon as possible.

Thanks, Donna and beattyfamily!

It sounds like a win-win situation. If I don't want any of the pictures, I'm not out anything, but if some of there's turn out better than the ones we make ourselves, I can get them. Great!

I also like being able to wait until I get home to get the pictures (don't have to worry about it/them getting bent,etc.).

Now, do I pick up the photopass card at one of the picture locations, or do I get it somewhere else?

As soon as the photographer takes your picture, he'll swipe your card through his little machine he carries and your pictures are recorded. So be sure to get the card before you walk away! it's a credit-card type card (plastic), i keep mine with my wallet or in my lanyard.

Hi all, Just back today from 8+ days at WDW. We went to the 11/17 MVMCP and it was wonderful as the kick off to our trip. The crowd that night was not as heavy as I expected and we were able to ride everything multiple times. We rode Thunder Mountain at least 3 times. I just love looking up from that ride at the stars.

We did not make it to Twas the Night show but everything else was great. The parade was special. My favorites were the "tin" soldiers. The reindeer with long red tongues were a bit "odd".

The cookies and hot chocolate were a great hit. Hats were plentiful - although not the same at each store. We bought several white/green/red striped ones with ears ($19.99) and a couple of special Minnie ears with a mini red hat in between ($13?).

In fact we had so much fun that night and were spoiled by the not so long lines that the rest of the week was tough for us at MK. The crowds got heavier at all the parks beginning 11/19. The weather was also not so "hot" - literally, but we didn't let it spoil our trip. Wouldn't you know it was 70+ yesterday when we checked out of the Beach Club.

If you have specific questions, I can try to answer them.

The last party is on December 22. We have tickets for it, so hopefully this schedule will help you :

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
November 13, 17, 27, 28, 30, December 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 2006

We attended the Christmas Party on Nov. 13th, and I thought I would pass along some info for anybody planning to eat dinner in the Magic Kingdom.

We entered the park at 6:00, expecting to catch a bite before the party started at 7:00. Many of the restaurants were shut down for the event, and the ones that were open had a very limited menu choice. We really were hankering for a salad, but boy, was that the wrong time to find anything of the sort, unless we had a table service meal at Tony's on Main Street, which we didn't want to spend time doing. We had resigned ourselves to getting a burger at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. (The soup and salad side was closed.) Then we noticed a garden salad with chicken on the regular child's menu. This was the only source of green vegetables on the entire menu. We got that with carrots and grapes, and what a contrast it was to the sea of beige-colored food around us! If they had refused to sell those meals to us, we were prepared to argue on the grounds of health requirements.

Anyway, if you're planning to have a nice sit-down meal, it would be a good idea to get reservations and do it way before 6:00, if you want anything other than burger-type fare.

We had a great time, by the way! The Christmas Parade was fantastic.

Be sure to get any party-specific merchandise early, because it disappears quickly.

Ack! I'm going crazy trying to find a schedule of MVMCP events for this year! Please post if you have been - it is almost December and the rest of us who will be attending would be very grateful for details! :goodvibes

Thanks again! :yay:

Hi there,
We are attending the party on 12/5 and were wondering if the Christmas parade is the same as the Christmas parade they have here at Disneyland?
Everything sounds the same but I just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure?

Thanks!!
