Must have eats... curious first timer wants to know

I like the Shawarma on the Magic also ... for TWO very DIFFERENT reasons
1. Its really good
2. Makes me feel like an Avenger - Hanging with Tony, Cap, Dr. Banner, Natasha, Hawkeye, Thor after saving New York :lmao: but seriously ::yes:: I do :cool2:

Or its real name

A donna kebab!!!

(We have had them in the UK for 30 years).

I personally can't see the reason for anyone to recommend Chicken tenders against the other great items on offer, You can get chicken at KFC and McDonalds anytime.
I don't get the chicken tenders either. I started to ask earlier in the thread, what is so good about them? I have tried them once, but it was no biggie. But, everyone seems to rave about them.

I cant understand the rave about them you can get them anywhere, there cheap anywhere and nothing special in fact my Mcdonalds does far better sellects.

You do not go on a cruise for chicken tenders, but Palo or Remy now that's an experience.

Its interesting also to compare how Palo souffle has changed over the years, my recent photo against the older version posted later.

OK where were the pretzels from? Have yo ask so I can work out where to hunt them out lol. We don't really do pretzels over here (UK) and I miss Disney ones

Pinocchio's Pizzeria. You have to know to ask for them. They keep them behind the counter :)

I know you don't "get" the big deal with chicken tenders but others really enjoy them. Dining on a cruise ship does not have to be an "experience", but eating chicken tenders and pizza on a Disney cruise ship makes my children happy and we are making memories which to me is better. I do not eat fast food but maybe once a month and it would never be McDonald's I prefer real meat over processed patties so when I eat chicken tenders on DCL it is a treat from the ordinary for me and my family. This is not to say that we do not enjoy Palo because we do, immensely. In fact, I'm guessing it's my photo that you are referring to as being "older" compared to your "newer" photo. It's actually not that old, it was from May 2014 and our souffle was made by the head DCL pastry chef that actually teaches the chefs on the other ships or so we were told more than once by our server. Our server wanted to know if we could taste the difference. But anyways, different people like different things. We like shawarma and chicken tenders and pizza. :goodvibes

That's what I thought before I cruised too...'why would anyone want to eat chicken strips on a cruise?'...Then we ended up getting a bunch because we had to eat in our room (rough seas, sick kids, 'nuff said) and man, they are really good! LOL

I wouldn't advise skipping a MDR or PALO to have them...but if you're on the pool deck for lunch or just want a snack...give them a try! :)

OMG really? Right that's going on my things to do doc as I love PRETZELS! Thanks for the tip! See 8 DCL cruises and I'm still finding new stuff out!

The thread title is Must have eats... curious first timer wants to know...I personally think Chicken tenders doesn't come under that category its fast food, to fill up and go, and like a McDonald's albeit McDs (UK) is far far better, tried them, its not an influencing decision to by a cruise as you say I wouldn't advise skipping the MDR or Palo for them.

They are not in the same league as Palo Remy or MDRs.

Ah, the meal of choice after a heavy session, donner kebab! Had a few of those over the years!

The All Hands On Deck cheese platter from room service, to be enjoyed on your balcony with an adult beverage of your choosing!

Donna Kebab when I was a teenager it was required at 3am coming back home from London after the parties. Full chilli sauce all the salads, and your a real superhero if you can eat it all!!

You are absolutely correct about the title, it doesn't say what are Disney Fantasy's favorite things to eat. If you don't agree with someone's choice, move on, you don't need to spread your cheer at every turn. The OP can make their own choice, if they choose to use 240 calories on a chicken strip, who cares?

I don't see any real difference between the two photos. They both show a soufflé, two sauces, and ice cream. How are they different?

Presentation and the way it is cooked is completely different last cruise ours was more sugar based, the creams Are better quality now.

There is a big improvement.

Yes everyone can have an opinion with so much on offer Chicken tenders isn't it as said not why you buy a cruise for.

I think our experiences must be different. I believe the first time I had the chocolate soufflé in Palo was in 2004, but I could be slightly off on that. In my experience, it is always been a lovely soufflé, two sauces, and a scoop of ice cream. i'm not sure you can cook a soufflé in a completely different way, and still have a soufflé. The soufflé in 2014 was just as delicious, and not noticeably different, then previous cruises. Sailing twice in 2015, so I guess I will try it again and see if I noticed a big improvement.
