Hello all

My DH and I are having a romantic trip Sept 2019 staying at AKL and will be on the DDP, I am looking for some top tips for the MUST DO restaurants that I should make ADRs at along with the best places on property to go for a few beers - i LOVE Jellyrolls so will certainly be going there but any other recommendations would be really appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

Lou

I've always wanted to try Jiko so I would put that on your list. The Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package. We enjoy Chefs de France and have had some great quick but nice meals at GF Cafe. I would also love to try the Brunch at Cal Grill

Our anniversary trip is this August. Our must-dos include California Grill brunch, Jiko, and Raglan Road. We also have Yachtsman Steakhouse, BoG for lunch, and Tusker House for *brunch* booked . We also have a few maybes.

Yachtsman, Rose & Crown, Boma, Skipper Canteen, The Wave, Tusker House, Sci Fi Dine In. Would have included Artist Point, but it's apparently about to undergo some changes and not sure what the new menu will look like.

Thats great, I will check all of those out - thanks so much!

best places on property
Brown Derby for sure - the Filet was the most amazing Filet I have ever eaten. Cali grill would be romantic being able to see the fireworks (I'm dining there in Nov, but any reviews I have seen the place sounds amazing - both the view and the food). Jiko has traditionally had good reviews. Victoria falls bar is right there in Jambo. Boma was an amazing breakfast buffet. If spending any time over at disney springs you might want to research the many options there too. At the Poly is trader sams - you might have to wait to get in but they allow you to put your name on a list and they will text you - so you can shop and relax by the beach while waiting.

For us, Jiko, California Grill, Il Mulino (but I don't think that is on DDP), Brown Derby.
Bars - top is clearlt Trader Sams Grog , so much fun.
Loved Victoria Falls at AKl, Abracadabar on Boardwalk, and Nomad lounge in AK. Baseline Tap in HS is good, but not as large of a beer selection as I hoped.

We love California Grill, Tusker House, Homecomin', The Boathouse and Beaches and Cream. We get something different out of every experience and the food has been consistently great at all.

Enjoy your research :)

When we go it is always just my wife and I as we have no kids (by choice). So for us, every dinner is a romantic dinner.

Like one person posted, if you want to top everything go for dinner at Victoria & Albert's. We greatly love Monsieur Paul, Le Cellier, and Artist Point. We were greatly disappointed by California Grill. As much as everyone raves about the place, the atmosphere is very noisy and the food is just okay. If you take the fact that you can see fireworks from there away, it is just a plain restaurant.

A nice place to have a beer and listen to music or watch the world go by, we love Rose & Crown and Raglan Road. We hit both on every trip and usually do Raglan Road several times during a trip.

While we plan on NOT doing any of our " go to's" this trip so that we try new places...here's what's at the top our our list:
California Grill
Tiffins(Easily our favorite overall)
Le Chefs De France
Brown Derby Lounge
Baseline Tap House

I have heard amazing things about The Wave (1 TS credit). Keep in mind, if you're on the DDP a lot of these restaurants that others have suggested will require 2 TS credits. All signature restaurants require 2 TS credits on the DDP.

Another great 1 TS restaurant is Sanaa.

If you like buffets I have heard Boma is amazing (we are doing this one next time instead of Sanaa to see what all the fuss is about!)

As far as a place to have a few beers, I highly recommend Baseline Tap House in DHS. On our February 2018 trip my hubby and I shared their pretzel w/ cheese fondue & spicy mustard and the California charcuterie plate for our “lunch”. Both the Golden Road 329 Lager and Golden Road Hefeweizen were tasty beer choices. The outdoor seating area is quite relaxing. An enjoyable experience! Happy planning!

We go to Sanaa on every trip, Cinderella's Royal Table every other trip, and Garden Grill most trips.

Sanaa is for the food. We enjoy watching the animals from the nearby outdoor deck after we eat, rather than from the restaurant while we're eating. Our entire family of four chooses Sanaa first every time.

Cinderella's Royal Table is neat. I like the experience and the food (steak). The kids claim to like the food, but they don't finish theirs, so I think they're in it for the experience. My husband does not WANT to go there, but he likes the food fine (just thinks it's not worth the money), and he goes to make the rest of us happy.

Garden Grill has a decent breakfast, but we're really there to get our start on Soarin' before the rope drop crowd comes in (we always do PPO breakfast).

Be Our Guest for lunch has recently become a favorite that we all enjoy, so we'll probably eat there on all trips from now on. BOG dinner has been a favorite of mine, but we'll have to see if that holds true as a signature meal. However, I think I'm the only one in my family who likes dinner better than lunch (the filet has been perfect both times I've had it).

Boma and Tusker House are not "must-do" to any of us, but all of us enjoy both. We are heading back to Boma on our next trip, but omitting Tusker House in favor of trying Tiffins for the first time.

Lastly, not a table service, but we love the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco in Epcot. If we are in the back of World Showcase for any reason and we are even a little hungry, that's where we go.

"must do" is subjective and almost impossible to answer since my must do might not be the next person's. We try to eat at different places every trip, for us, that's the fun part, trying new places. As far as beer, Tap House is good and you will be there during F&W at Epcot so there will be a number of beer flights at the booths. Sometimes they have beer pairings at the special meals and one year while I was there they had a beer and cheese pairing seminar. My son loves beer so he likes to try the beers at the different countries in Epcot.
