Multiple trips with two different tickets how does this work?

So in July I am going with a couple of friends to Disney for the weekend, these friends have 2 day tickets. One of them already has a 4 day Park Hopper ticket for when we go in August. How will Disney know to use the 2 day ticket in July and not the 4 day? Also the 4 day is a FL resident ticket which is blocked out in July.

Well, in this case, since the 4-day ticket is blocked out during the trip, the system won't use it.

But, under "normal" circumstances, a guest would stop by any Guest Relations BEFORE going to a park gate and have the CM set the "priority" of the ticket that the guest WANTS to use to the highest priority.

Should we stop by guest relations so we don't have any issues or is it safe to say the system will automatically go for the 2 day ticket that is available to use.

I wouldn't take any chance. Disney IT is renowned for glitches.

You can.
I frankly don't see that stopping by GR will make anything "safer" as a glitch is still a glitch.

Another workaround is to create "FAKE NAMES" in each MDE account (like Goofy T. Guy or Minnie T. Mom) and the guest can reassign the tickets that he does NOT want to use to a fake name for this trip.

Then, when the time comes to use those tickets, they can be reassigned (by the guest) back to his real name.

I think you've been given some great advice so far.

One of my tickets was incorrectly prioritized. I would have lost that ticket, except that it ended up I had to go to GS for other reasons. I like the idea of having GS verify the proper ticket was used at some point on the first day. It doesn't have to be first thing in the morning when lines are longest. You can do it later when lines are very short. To me, in this situation, an moment of prevention beats an hour of cure.

Your friend might wish to consider an AP as another potential solution.
