Planning on MK for 11/22, which is a party day and crowd level of 3 with early entry at 7:30am.
Do you think multi pass is needed?
Did a party day last year over Veterans Day weekend with great success. Just wondering if so many people are using multi pass that now it is necessary?
TIA

Everything I’m hearing is that the multi-pass would not be needed, however it would make your day even easier. Do you like to try for multiple rides on some attractions?

If I were you, I’d buy single passes for Tron and rope-drop Seven Dwarfs. Roll the dice on standby for the rest.

It will not be ‘needed’ but you will have more opportunities to save time on some rides. We visited 3 party days in Aug and did not purchase any of those days and were glad we saved the money.

I did MK solo yesterday before my family joined me at 4 foe the party.I got there around 10:30 or 11, and with LLMP I was able to ride BTMRR, Pirates, HM, Space, Jingle Cruise, Ariel, Buzz, Pooh, Tron standby, plus train and people mover. Worth it for me. Lots of LL spin the slots, which I enjoy playing. It was a same day purchase so PP and Tiana never came available.

Do you remember any of the stand by times for the rides? Sure it's great to just walk on through, but I'm willing to wait 20 mins at a few rides to save 30 bucks.

How long was the stand by for Tron?

Tron was a gift. It had been down for hours. I had just sailed on the people mover when it came back up. Longest PM ride ever. It was still.less than 30 to lockers. Up to.70 by the time I got off. This was the Tuesday after veterans day so the bangers were all 45-60.

This information from Thrill-Data.com shows average wait times for the past week. I have displayed with an arrow, the 3 days that were party days.

If you are in the EE pack at 7:30, are ok not doing every headliner, and don’t mind 30 minutes in some lines, you don’t need LLMP. We did an August party day with LLMP, but most things were short lines until 10:30. We did not do Tron, 7DMT, TBA, PP, or Space. We did pretty much everything else from 7:30-1 with rolling LL, then hopped to Epcot. If you want all the headliners, you may be better off booking LLSP and rope dropping Space or TBA.

We decided to buy LLMP on an MK party day - next Fri Nov 22. The other 2 days we bought LLMP for EP and HS earlier in the week and it was night/day for what choices we had. Everything at MK was available super early. So many people choose to do it on a non-party day instead, when the park is open for that extra 4 to 6 hours. I’m hoping to get good use out of it between the low crowds and low uptake of LLMP. We’re going over to Epcot after and maybe I’ll get a ride or two there as well.

Will I need a multi pass for MK on a party day (first Friday of December)? I see the touring plan calendar shows low crowds, so unsure if should spend the $. TIA :)

We just got back from our trip and did MK twice on party days without lightning lane. We got there just after opening each day and were able to go on all the rides we wanted with minimal waits. Then we hopped over to another park in the evening and managed to do everything we wanted to do at the other parks over the course of 3 days. We were glad we didn't spend the money for lightning lane.

Thanks for the quick reply! I paid for a Touring Plans subscription and it's showing the plan I made as basically walking on to headliners in the morning, which I find odd, but I've used if before and it's been accurate! Our plan is to do the same - MK on non party and hop over to Epcot or HS as we are staying at Dolphin. We will see what the 7 year old can handle....

so is that the trick. go the park that has a holiday party early then get out of dodge later that night and go to a different park if you have a hopper?

or should you just avoid the park that has an after hour party?

I read on a few sites that works for MK, but doesn't work for Jollywood at HS.

I love that you call the good rides "bangers."

The best use case for a hopper is during holiday party season trips imo. Rope drop MK and take advantage of how dead the park is most of the day until the party hordes start showing up at 4, then hop over to another park.

Re: LLMP, it's totally unnecessary and a waste of money to buy it on a party day for MK. I would only purchase it if I intended to hop to HS afterwards, which is what we did back in September. We rope dropped MK on the day of the Halloween party we were not attending that night, prebooking Tiana, Mansion, and a burner LL at Mad Tea Party for exactly 8am official park open--that was the earliest LL we could book, closest to where we would be at 8 since we rope drop Tomorrowland at EE. We rope dropped Tron, Buzz, and then as soon as I tapped in at the teacups I booked Slinky Dog for that night and then modified Mansion to Tower of Terror. The only reason I didn't modify Tiana into a HS LL is because we actually intended to use it, to ride back to back (we got a BG for it). We rode everything we wanted to in standby and then hopped to HS mid afternoon. Even after taking a midday break we were able to pull every ride with LL.

We did MK with a group of 9 on Friday 12/22 last year, which was a party day, and it was "slow" until about 2pm but I remember being very thankful we did LL's....the standby wait times were still higher than I would have liked with a group of young kids who hadn't been before and were trying to maximize the rides that day. I think a lot of this depends on how ambitious you want to be on a party day, if you're going back to that park on another day it's probably fine to skip the LL's and see how you do if you'll be ok with that. But if it's really important to minimize wait time and squeeze in as much as possible, you'll need to pony up even on a party day to be safe.
