Multi-Part: Disbug Family of Five at RPR (Mem.Day Wkend): With Pics, Reviews, Tips!

Thanks so much for this wonderful report! It's not only full of very helpful info and great pics, but on a personal note and I don't know if I can explain this well, but your family is such an inspiration in the way that you all effortlessly seemed to compromise so that each of you got to do everything that you wanted to do. You all were relaxed and agreeable about everything, rides, meals, pool time, and the two of you even got to get away by yourselves! We're going next week with extended family, and I will be ecstatic if our trip goes half as smooth as yours, LOL. I'm so happy to hear that your youngest daughter got to ride a lot of the rides too, and her smile just makes my heart completely melt! Thanks for sharing!!!!

Still reading your report, but just wanted to comment that your Phoebe is really cute. It is a joy to see her smile, enjoying herself. The look on her face during the Barney show makes ME want to go see it! LOL.

Thank you so much for your wonderful remarks... they were very well said and touched my heart! (I even showed my DH!) I have to agree that this was one of the best vacations ever! We have gone to WDW on extended family (17 people!) vacations in the past and you do feel like you are planning an invasion, lol! I am sending you best wishes for a SUPER GREAT TIME and hope to hear back from you after your trip! :sunny:

Thank you very much, GODreigns and VW31! I'm glad you are enjoying it! Hope you find some helpful info in there somewhere! LOL! I know my DH wonders sometimes why I take the time to do a trip report... and when I tell him that besides enjoying it, sometimes it can be helpful to someone else... he nods his head! :wave2:

What a great trip report! We went to UO/IOA in Feb/March and I was looking for a report like this before we went! Lots of info for families. Great pix too.

Disbug - thanks so much for posting your WONDERFUL trip report - fun to 'relive' some of my favorite memories from our last few trips!! My DDs were 12 and 10 when our 'late-life' DS was born and I always love to see the special bond between teens/tweens and their younger sibs that is so evident between your girls in your pics! If you get a chance on your next trip - ask about scheduling a tour of the HRC for your girls - we did this for DS in Jan on his 16th b'day - he is a musician and LOVED it - they took us backstage and into some of the usually 'closed' rooms - waaaay cool! :smooth:

Thank you very much for sharing your awesome trip with everyone on the board. The pictures were so vivid and cute.

One quick question, did you get any discounts eating at Tchoup Chop?

Thank YOU, for the tip bjakmom! I didn't know you could get a "tour" of the HRC! Wow, that is something I will definitely do next year!

Tclowe, unfortunately, no discounts are offered at Tchoup Chop... but, to tell the truth, I thought the meal was worth every cent we spent! LOL! But, as for me... I would rather eat ONE great meal a day and nothing else, as opposed to 3 mediocre ones. So, if it is IMPORTANT to you to go to one GOOD restaurant during your vacation, I can recommend this one.

My next trip, I really want to try Emeril's in City Walk, but Tchoup Chop is SOOO convenient when you are staying at RPR!

If anyone else knows something different about discounts, please post here!

Wow! I love all trip reports, but I think yours is the best one I've read yet. Thank you so very much for taking the time to post your report, pictures and tips. I love everything that Universal & IOA have to offer. I fell in love with RPR last year and I'm anxiously awaiting my next trip in September. You have a very beautiful family. :goodvibes

Thank you, AllieKat! It was my pleasure and thank you for your very kind remarks!

Thank you so much for your trip report!!! I'm very impressed with all your great info! :flower: :flower: :flower:

Wonderful, as always, Denise! Your pictures look great and it was so nice to have all three of your beautiful girls in one picture! Oh, they're growing up!

Loved your report! We were there at the same time with a very similar cast DW52, DS16, DD11 and me. We sent DW and DS on to Texas and Mexico. I read your report while staying at RPR. Your suite made our king suite look like Motel 6! For some reason the photos aren't coming up now. I have to read your report again because we may have crossed paths quite a few times.
We did both Tchoup Chop and Emeril's this trip and both were excellent. The only discount was that Tchoup Chop had a kid's menu that helped with finicky "Chicken Fingers" DD11. She wouldn't enough eat the cookies in the cookies and ice cream desert! We also ate at Mytho's and our waitress was cool in that she knows how long it takes to get the meals out of the kitchen. She kept bringing us bread and sodas which kept us content.
Again, great report!

Thank you, Miss Bell! I hope you found something you could use on a future trip! :goodvibes

#1Hockeymom! You are the first Sorority Sister to post! (You are so good to me, Deb! LOL!) :teeth: I know! I can't believe how different the girls all look since last year, even! They are growing up and I am loving every minute of it! Looking forward to seeing the gang again this July/Aug! :grouphug:

Motherfletcher! I have seen you frequently post on the Universal Boards and I can't believe we missed each other! We were at Tchoup Chop on Saturday night, May 28th, at 9:30 PM until at least 11:00 PM. I really prefer a late seating at this restaurant. (The anticipation is almost as good as the actual dinner!) It sounds like your group was very similar to ours, indeed! You just needed a toddler to round out your group...JK!

Let me know if you are continuing to have problems loading the pictures. I can see them fine~ but that doesn't mean Sony Imagestation isn't having a problem with their servers. I also like the King Suites, as opposed to having a small room when we have the entire gang together! It is really a must for getting our DD4 to sleep and having room for all her gear.... Glad to hear you also, had a wonderful stay!

Now you can run amuck in two different parks! OH, wait.. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone!

Hi Disbug, just read your report and some invaluable information in it for me to take on board, glad you all had a great time, and loved your pictures of the family and of RPR.
we are coming over from Belfast next year for the first time, with my DW and DD 10 and staying at RPR for a week and 2 weeks at POFQ.cant wait
thanks again Disbug, and send our love from Belfast and hope you are all keeping well

Great report! Thanks for taking the time.

We didn't enjoy Pepper Market either - which was a big deal as we were staying at CSR for two weeks :sad2:

Still, plenty of other places to eat and we got sadnwiches from the convenience store next door a couple of times, which IMHO were better than anything PM had to offer! :wave2:

The Caro-Seuss-el is a wonderful ride that has a special place for those in wheelchairs! DD4 just LOVED this ride as it allows her wheelchair to go UP AND DOWN just like the other riders.
The Caro-seuss-el is the only known carousel that has the chariots that do this. :goodvibes

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.
