about whether the mugs are for unlimited drinks for the duration of the trip when you first buy them, or unlimited for future trips as well. I have been told by Disney World personnel that you can bring them back each trip, but I think somewhere there is a written rule about this, which states that they are good for the duration of the trip you buy them during. I have seen many people reusing old mugs, as I have. I have never personally seen the rule about this anywhere at Disney. If I were asked by a CM to purchase new mugs, I would certainly do so.

Some of the resort food courts have started posting signs that say the mug is for your current length of stay. These have been seen in CBR and the All Star resorts for sure.

Yes, lots and lots and lots of people do this. I have yet to see a single post from someone who was stopped by a CM while using an old mug at the same resort.

We bought one (the taller kind) when we first arrived and used it every morning when we heading to the parks, and each time we ate at the food court and the 2 times we ate at the food court. I imagine next year we will buy a new one(hopefully it will be different)

However...

The day we went to MGM the were selling hot chocolate before Fantasmic, and It was it the Exact same mug (the short one) that the had at the All Stars. For the "refillable" mug and hot choc. it was only 4 dollars.

OK I'll add my two cents....On our recent trip (President's week) I wanted to bring the DL mugs that we had purchased two years ago. My DH insisted that we buy the new ones--he tends, shall we say, to walk a somewhat straighter path than me lol! I finally gave in and while he was waiting in the line to check-in at POR I ran down and bought three new mugs. By the end of the week out of all the money I had spent, that was the money I felt I had totally wasted and most amazingly my DH agreed!!! We saw all manner of mugs being used as has been reported many times on these boards. In fact I would venture to say that I saw more "old" mugs than I did "new." When we go back in August my husband has already agreed that we can bring the DL mugs.

i purchase the mugs as souvenirs that are also practical and look forward to getting a new one each time. In fact, I don't even drink soda, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. I just like the mugs.

It's too much trouble, imo, to drag them back trip after trip. Also, I plan to stay at a different resort each time for a long time.
