*~* Muggles, Welcome to the Burrow! *~*

I just finished- I have no words. Emotionally, I am exhausted, but I believe the book was awesome, and a fitting end to the series. Amazing!

Agreed on all counts! I'll probably read it again - more leasurly this time - this week, just to take it all in. But first impression upon reading is that she did a fan-freaking-tastic job of tying things up. This book pulls NO punches, and was impossible to put down! Just an awesome finish to the series!

I'm only a third of the way through and I am already an emotional mess. I can't imagine what I will be like by books end. So far I am extremely happy with the way the book is going.

All last night and today, whenever DH would hear me sniffling, he would say loudly, "You're crying AGAIN  ??!!" The man has, as Hermione would say, "the emotional range of a teaspoon"- he never gets worked up over books, movies, anything, really. I, OTOH, can and do cry with the least provocation.

I think I was continually sobbing and sniffling throughout the last 1/3 of the book- it is just brutal (but sooo good)!!!

If you're not done with the book and don't want to be spoiled, skip my post!

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Well, except for Fred....one half of my beloved twins. I cried while reading the first chapter, simply out of excitement and sadness that the series was coming to an end. I also cried at every death. And I cried when I finished it because it was over.

I was thrilled to learn that my suspicions were correct in Harry being the seventh Horcrux! That was my initial instinct and while I went back and forth a bit about him maybe not being a horcrux, re-reading HBP this week confirmed it for me! JKR dropped clues very well. I was also happy to learn that Snape loved Lily!

The tone in the book seemed quite different to me-- lots of information in the form of an expository book or flashback. But then again, there was a lot of info she had to pack in.

The only thing I didn't like was Harry's death experience...

I can't wait until everyone else is done reading so we can discuss it!

Im glad to hear I want the only one sobbing through the end of the book! After I got done reading it, I was making dinner just sobbing my eyes out, and Dh wouldnt let me tell him a thing! :sad2: MEN!!!!:lmao:

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!! I had a thirteen hour read-a-thon and was spent emotionally and physically afterwards. I still have a few questions for later but I will say I enjoyed Dudley.

What an amazing book. I'm waiting for my hubby to finish reading his so we can discuss it!! I cried throughout as well. Little things really struck me and pulled at my heart. I won't mention them now since people are still reading. But some moments were so touching while others had my heart pounding. Wonderful book!! I'll also be reading it again at a much slower pace.

Same here! At one point I was crying so hard that I had to go back and re-read certain parts because my vision had been so blurry. What an emotional read! I think I sobbed for a good 5 minutes when I finished reading just because it was so OVER. And that made me sad. But I too cried at every death and I also cried at a few other parts that didn't involve anyone dying. Can't wait till everyone else is done so we can really get a discussion going!

My book is missing a whole chapter!!!!!!!!!!! ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was reading last night when about mid-night I reach the Prince chapter...it's not there. My book goes from 698- back to 627!!! It's missing the whole chapter.

I did read it to the end but now I need to go and buy another book to find out...that chapter is crucial to the story!

Has anyone heard anything about this problem? I'm stayed away from all media this weekend.

HC:eek:

I did hear about this. I'm a librarian and I heard some rumors that our technical services people (the people who get the books ready for circulation) had to check the books early because there were some printing problems!

Take your copy back to the bookstore and exchange it. They will be able to return it to the publisher. Or maybe hold on to it since it could be a collectible some day like the first printing of GoF that mixed up Harry's parents deaths! :)

DH handed me the book again as e caught up to where I had read. But he had to do me one better and read farther than I did so now I ahve to ctach up in order to discuss what I have read. IF I can ever get my girls down for a nap I will be reading again. Until then I'm stuck in the middle pof chapter 15. Glad to hear from PP, that the slower middle section will improve.

I had not heard of the GoF mix up. How did they mix up Harry's parents deaths?

I have the mixed up GoF. The mix up...when Harry's and Voldemort's wands connect in the graveyard, Harry's father comes out before Harry's mother. Since the spells were coming out in reverse, it appeared that Harry's mother was killed before his father. It sparked a bunch of conspiracies but was corrected in later printings.

BTW....loved Deathly Hallows

Just curious...anyone else NOT get their delivery from Amazon on 7/21?? I didn't. Thankfully we snatched two up very quickly from Walmart after midnight. But I had a book ordered through Amazon since March and it didn't come. It's on it's way now (the deluxe edition) and it's free!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. I think I'll just go and purchase a new copy...I'm dieing to read the chapter! lol

Wow this book is amazing! Answered all my questions, gave me a few surprises and it's just terrific writing.

Finished mine last night at 12:45! I absolutely couldn't put it down! The book certainly puts you through a range of emotions! It was fantastic! JK did an awesome job of tying up the story.

It would be cool if she started a series with James, Sirius, Snape, Lily when they were at Hogwarts! I'd love for it to continue...

Amazingly mine was at my house before I woke up at 10 AM. I hadn't expected it until the afternoon at the earliest.

And I have to agree I too LOVED the book, but I feel like I read it too fast and want to go back and reread it. Reading through some of the posts from before the book came out, it's amazing how some people were dead on about certain parts. Good going guys! :woohoo:

I also agree that a prequel of sorts would be awesome! I'd love to read a book about Snape, Sirius, James and Lily. I hope she does something else that's at least related to this series.
