*~* Muggles, Welcome to the Burrow! *~*

Still be things to speculate about?? I hope she doesn't leave that much to be questioned after book 7 comes out!

This could not be further from the truth! The 21st July publication date has given me enough time to write the book I wanted to write, and for the manuscript to be properly edited. These are the most important things to me. An earlier date - eg, 7/7/07 - would have meant that either the writing or editing was rushed, and neither my publishers nor I wanted that. Any brevity in my announcement was down to the fact that I was busy editing!

July 21 is also, I believe, six months after the Deathly Hallows title was announced via the hangman game on her website.

I will welcome the chance to speculate after book 7. Speculation is part of what makes HP so fun to read. JKR has so much back story for each character and event that not everything will make it into the book and she sometimes only hints at things. I don't think everything will be wrapped up neatly and that is what makes it so great.

Of couse, she could also be referring to those "superfans" who refuse to accept things as she writes them (i.e. Harry/Hermionie shippers who refuse to accept Ron/Hermionie.) ;)

Who knows? We'll just have to wait until the book comes out to see if all our outstanding questions are answered.

There is also speculation that due to the high price ($34.99 suggested retail) book 7 will be much longer than any other book. If it is much longer, I'd expect a lot more exposition and answers.

H/Hr shippers who refuse to accept R/Hr as canon = delusional! :rotfl2:

And I've heard that theory too. That since the price is higher than it's ever been that it might be because it's longer than the others. But it could also just be the fact that it's the last book :confused3 Although I certainly wouldn't mind if it were longer than any of the others! And even then it still wouldn't be long enough for me :sad1:

It's worse than that. I have encountered some of them. They think that JKR's interview with the Leaky Cauldron website, in which she urged them to go back and re-read the books to find her ANVIL sized clues, was actually a secret, coded message for Harry/Hermione shippers. (they call themselves Harmonians).

The secret message is that if you go back and re-read, you will apparently find all these clues that tell you that Harry and Ginny will break up, and Ron and Hermione never actually intended to get together.

Of course even Harmonians disagree. Some feel Ginny used a combination of love potions and charms on Harry all year. Others feel that Ron and Ginny will simply gracefully step aside in the face of Harry and Hermione's true love. Still others think that Ron is actually pining for Luna, and the whole Hermione thing is just a smokescreen.

....and that's all I have to say about that!

i still don't like Harry/Ginny, but at least i accept it! lol

Sorry guys!

Things have been really hectic since going back to school. I was about a step away from a full-blown Pneumonia last week, add the bitter cold this week (and a heater that stopped working in the middle of the night and leaky doors sucking any warm air left out) and I've missed you guys!

In the future, please do exactly as you're doing and carry on! I did stop by and quickly remove the Current Topic in the thread title as I was unable to keep it updated. Very, very excited for July 21st!

Carry on.... :goodvibes

As much as I kinda hope Ginny dies in the last book and Harry ends up alone...

Well...it probably won't happen. But Hermione's way too smart too end up with Harry or Ron...she should go for sweet Neville. :)

Hey DISers, I've read all the books and seen all the movies. Yet I have a question that I know I should already have the answer to:
Why is it that Uncle Vernon can't stand to see Harry go off to school every year, if he hates him anyway? Remember once he even put bars up at Harry's window and Ron and his brothers had to break him out?

So please let me know, this just doesn't make sense to me. :coffee:

Uncle Vernon hates Harry, but stronger than his hatred for his nephew is his fear that people will know that something strange is happening in his family. Magic is a horrible thing to Vernon so if he had his way, he would eliminate "freaky" things from his family!

Thank you! I thought about this, because I remember Uncle Vernon calling Harry's friends "freaky". Yet, I thought that since he hated him so much, he would be glad to see him go away every year for school, so Harry would be out of his house.

He's also afraid of what Harry is learning there.

That's what I always thought too. That as much as he hates his nephew, he'd rather keep him locked up in their house so he can't go to Hogwarts and learn magic. He's terrified of what he think Harry could do to him/them, not that I think Harry would ever actually do anything serious to them.

That makes SOOOO much sense! He probably thinks that Harry could learn a way to kill his family! BUT that is not in Harry's nature, it IS in his Uncle, Aunt and Cousin to do that if they could!

I also feel he hates Harry so much he doesn't want him to have any happiness and he knows that Harry loves being at Hogwarts and wants to deny him that.

Hi, I have never been on this thread before, but am a huge fan of the books and the movies :wizard:

I never knew that there was a name for supporters of a Harry/Hermione relationship :rotfl:

OMG, that's so evil Cobra! :rotfl:

It was a little Slytherin...wasn't it. :rolleyes1

Well...I've been re-reading the books. And it seems that Harry actually gets dumber as the books go on. Hmmm. Ha ha. As more crack theories come to light I will enlighten you with them :)

I've always thought that too. Snape isn't far off when he says that Harry is incrediby lucky, almost moronically brave, and has smart friends. I've always kind of wondered what Harry's life would be like after (if, I guess) he defeats Voldemort and life in the wizarding world goes back to normal. I mean, I know he'd be famous but he's really not all that skilled magically. Maybe a true happy ending for Harry would just be to have a loving family and friends.

I think that's intentional though. If Harry were the smartest, he would be a little too good to be believed. He admits it himself when they are encouraging him to start the DA that he's survived Voldemort so many times on mostly just luck and nerve. I like that Harry is flawed, that he can be rash and judgmental and emotional. It makes him more "real." I wouldn't want a perfect Harry or even a near perfect Harry.
