:confused3 Hey All,
Whats your opinions on getting the refillable mugs while on the Dining Plan?
Does it make sense?

I was gonna get one for DS10, but don't think so with the Free Dining. Plus, we drive and bring a cooler or two anyway. I'll bring my own soda, juices, and such.

we also brought a cooler for drinks and that was fine, but dh got a mug for his daily coffee habit.. I wouldn't buy one unless I was going to spend a lot of time at the hotel and didn't want to bring a cooler. We also brought tons of snacks and hardly touched them. You can use snack credits instead. A big box of entenmanns donuts were 1 snack credit and that lasted 3 days! Next time I'll save that space for more shopping I can do!!

Actually, just buy one. Share it with the entire family. And then make sure you bring it back every trip, especially if you're staying at a different resort, and use it there, too! :stir:

JUST KIDDING, EVERYONE!!! :rotfl2:

and plan to buy the refillable mugs, too.

We more than got our money's worth from them on the last trip. We'll fill them up with a drink before we leave for the parks and they keep us hydrated for a while. We take breaks in the afternoon, and will refill the mugs then, too. Last trip, we probably filled them about 3 times every day.

This way, it saves the dining plan snacks for actual snacks, not something to drink. Not to mention, they're great mugs to use at home. I have one on my desk at work. :goodvibes

I don't think we will be getting them this time. We didn't in March when we were on DDP either.

You get a drink with every meal, plus you can use a snack credit for drinks. With those huge meals, I very rarely felt like getting a snack with my credit. I usually bought a bottle of water or soda with it. You really would have to drink a TON.

We're still buying the mugs. I like to have the mugs as a souvenier. Plus, I know we'll be enjoying a few frozen Cokes at Pop, and the mugs will be handy for that. :goodvibes

I'm going to get one for those drinks we don't normally get to order (Icee, hot chocolate, etc.). I figure even if we don't use it that much at the very least it makes a cute souvenir of the place we stayed.

I always figure out the cost analysis like this:

Mug=12.00
Pop=2.00 X how many days I would use it = if it pays for itself, yes. If not, no.

I found that with the DDP I didn't need the refill mug.

DH and I both plan to get one when we are DDP this Sept. We figure that we can use it when hanging out at our hotel morning, midday and in the evening. I think it would be great for being poolside so we are not using our snack credits for drinks and we plan to go to the pool every afternoon for a break for our 2 y.o. Also when we went before we did what a PP mentioned and would fill them when leaving the resort for a park so we had a drink for a while.

You can always use it when you get home. I plan on keeping mine at my office, especially since my current office cup isn't insulated and sweats all over my desk.
