So, one of my favorite things to eat on the ships is Muesli. I'd never had it before I went on a cruise, and fell in love. Then, it became my mission to find out what was in the mix.
Well, I'm happy to report that I have FINALLY solved the mystery. After MANY failed muesli purchases, I have found a great muesli mix by Bob's Red Mill.
Then, when I was on the Dream in October in concierge, I casually mentioned to the concierge host that I wish I had the muesli recipe, and it magically appeared in my stateroom on our final night, with a very nice note from one of the chefs!
So, I will share what I do with the muesli...I think it tastes pretty darn close to the DCL's (but no cream, I use non-fat milk!)

1 cup of muesli mix
1 cup of nonfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup of nonfat milk
1/2 cup of peeled golden delicious apples, cut into strips
1/4 cup of walnut pieces
1 tablespoon honey

Mix all ingredients together and let sit in refrigerator overnight. In the morning, cut up 1 cup of fruit (I like strawberries) and mix in 3/4 cup of the muesli mix (it might need a tad more milk). Stir and enjoy!

Brings back memories of the ship...can't wait to taste it on the ship again in 67 days! :)

Thank you SO MUCH for posting the recipe!!!

I grew to love muesli when I lived in England but it's just not the same here. And I certainly had never put cream into it as it's "supposed to be" healthy!

But I love the muesli on the ships and gleefully fill my bowl whenever I see it. Looks like I'll be making it at home now.....with cream!

Oh my goodness, thank you! I LOVED the Muesli when I was on the Magic. When we were on the Dream, it always had bananas mixed in, and I am very allergic to them, so just avoided it. I am so looking forward to having some at home!

Thanks so much for posting!!! That is my shipboard breakfast every day!!!

You might want to try this recipe that Disney has posted for the Muesli: (I Love it too!)

Recipes
Muesli
Disney Cruise Line

Ingredients:
½ kilo muesli/rolled oats (equivalent to just over 1 pound)
1 cup of honey
1cup milk
1 cup of heavy cream
½ cup chopped dried apricots
½ cup sultanas/raisins
½ cup toasted flaked almonds
½ cup roughly chopped walnuts
¼ cup dried cranberries
½ cup fresh blueberries (optional)
½ cup strawberries cut in half (optional)
1 banana peeled sliced (optional)

Method of Preparation:

Mix all the dried ingredients together in a bowl. Add the honey, milk and cream and mix together. If you wish the muesli to be more liquid, just add more heavy cream or milk which ever you prefer. Finally add the fresh fruits.

Thank you so much! Found this on our b2b cruise last year on the Dream and had it every morning, but couldn't duplicate it at home.
