Muddy Buddy Training!

Today is my last semi-long run before the race. 5 slow miles. Tomorrow I'll do a fast 3 miles and then I'm done. two full days of rest and recovery. :thumbsup2 I'm going to continue lifting up until the race. It won't negatively impact my time and it helps keep me sane! Are you guys winding down your routines as well? popcorn::

I think I'll try to make a 5 mile run today and a little biking, maybe the same. Tomorrow will be mow the lawn and try to do maybe 2 miles tops. Then I'm calling it quits and heading the Detroit Thursday after work.

Good luck to all of you with your last days of training. I'm going to get in a slow run tonight. I'll probably get our lawn mowed either Thursday night or Friday morning. I like to wait the last possible minute since we will be gone for over a week and our grass has a mind of its own...It grows like wildfire this time of year.

Happy Cinco De Mayo to all of you! party:

Aaron, sorry I missed your call last night. I didn't even hear the phone ringing. Do you have time to chat today? I don't have a whole lot going on at work today, and I can give you a call anytime.

Okay, so today I ran the race slowly.

I did the following:

1.25 mile bike
1.25 mile run
1.25 mile bike
1.25 mile run
1.25 mile bike
0.5 mile walk

I felt good, but no matter how often I do this that first 1.25 mile run is hard. The second one is much easier. Why is this? I stretch and bike before I run so I don't understand.

Anyway, I feel good, and that is my last hard workout before the race. I mowed two lawns on Sunday, worked in the yard moving dirt yesterday and building a garden box. Thursday, I plan to mow again before the trip becuase Indiana grass grows like wildfire just as ADP said.

I am so excited for this race, I already have butterflies! :thumbsup2

Todd, my bro got the bike. I will PM you the link to it.

I think we can decide on our racing strategy when we get down there if you are okay with that.

Have a great day all!

I've been doing pretty much the same thing, except switching the running and biking. The first run isn't bad, the second is better, but the third one is the one that kills me.

Mowed my lawn on Saturday. Gonna mow mom's on Wednesday and mine again before bed on Thursday evening. (Bedtime on Thurs is around 9pm~getting up at 4 to be ready for the flight.)

You bet Dave. I'll give you a call around lunchtime.

The weather is terrible here. Cold and raining. I'm looking forward to running in the warmth Saturday morning! :thumbsup2

I had another good run today. 3.22 miles in a little over 28 minutes. :cool1:

I'm sort of looking forward to it as well Paul. It looks like it is going to be pretty warm during the day. Thank goodness we are hitting the race course early in the morning.

I pounded out a 2 mile run and 2 miles on the bike tonight. I'm ready for this challenge! :cool1:

What's this? A sneak attack? :tiptoe: I'm wearing a disguise. The last thing I want is to be ambushed by Puck and Paul in the pit.

Try to say that 10 times fast.

Todd, Aaron and Dave,
