MTV's My Super Sweet 16

Ever watch this show? The parents spend LOTS of $$$ (some run 1/4 million dollars) on their kid's 16th birthday party. They buy them Mercedes or BMWs, hire some celebrity singer, and have an extravagant party at a fabulous location. If I had the $$$ from just one of these parties, I'd take everyone who posts on this thread to DisneyWorld!

I am floored by the amount of money people have to spend like that plus the attitudes of the girls, it's such a "I'm entitled to this attitude" that I feel sorry for them.

That show is like a train wreck... you just have to watch it. I yell at the girls and the parents while I am watching it. The comment " Oh No she didn't" always seems to come out of my mouth too.

The girls and guys on that show make me sick If I ever had the rotten attitudes those kids have I would want someone to shoot me. It's pathetic. And of course, mommy and daddy are the reason they are that way

But hey, if you wanted to take me to Disneyworld I would be MORE than okay with that!

That show is just...........crazy.
My DD asked me once if "you could afford it, would you throw me a party like some of these girls get?" In all honesty, I don't think I would. Sure, she would get something like a new car and/or a nice party, but to go all out and get it all.....I don't think so.
Would be curious to see the weddings these girls have.

Not all of the kids on the show are bad. I haven't seen any of the R&B or rappers kids disrespect their parents or peers.

I admit, if I had the kind of money, I'd be happy to throw my son a super party. However, if he acted the way some of those act, he wouldn't get any thing.

I hate that show. Especially the one where the girl wants to be Cinderella and goes to look at the horses. Makes me angry. Has anyone seen the one where the girl wants a certain guy to perform, (Eminem I think..) but the dad gets the wrong person?

I sometimes watch this and I am shocked at how some of the kids talk and treat there parents.

A girl around our area had a sweet 16 MTV party. She got a Bentley and property in another country for her birthday, plus the party. From what I heard, you have to spend over a certain amount on their birthday to qualify. I'm up for WDW myself.

the one I saw today - the mom ordered different centerpieces because she saved $3000 and the girl demanded $3000 that she saved. how ungrateful. for one week I would love to see those kids struggle so they can appreciate all that they really have.

Gee, my sweet 16 was a couple bags of chips, some pop and cupcakes. The guys snuck in a case of beer. These kids are in for a really rough life if they think it's always going to be like this!

They had one today where the girls also raised $50k for St. Jude's hospital at the party. That one was actually worthwhile and served a purpose. If I had the money I'd be open to doing that kind of party. As it was, DD got a slumber party and a spa night for all the girls. I hired 4 girls from the beauty college to come do the works. Those students work cheap! I was step mom of the year for that!

Yeah, but so many of them just act so mean to the kids around them. I really can't watch that show without my blood pressure rising!
