I was just checking Oct 26-Nov 2 and NWA has the non-stops for $216.90 round trip.

I am not sure how that will go over MEA, but if you have a trip planned around those times, you might want to check it out.

MEA will be done by then. It is usually the third week of Oct.

$216 is ok for prices, but I personally would wait. You can get Sun Country for cheaper than that if you watch them close and the new ATA/SWA alliance seems to be decent on prices.

Good luck.

I am one who is patiently waiting (and expect it to be awhile) for decent airfare for the week of MEA. MEA is on the 20th and 21st this year, so we are shooting for a 10/15-10/22 trip. NWA has horrid rates at this time (no surprise there), and SC's and Airtran's schedules aren't that far out. I also am interested in the ATA/SW code share thing, but with reading about their boarding pass policies I likely will stay clear unless the rate is absolutely stuppendous.

Yes, I know MEA is the week before. I just meant that $216 probably would not be a fare for that week since a lot of people leave town and prices are higher.

Since it's been hovering at $283 for the past 6 weeks or so, $216 seemed a pretty good deal with non-stop service. I know Sun Country can have better deals - I know you got $206 or something for June - but considering the price drop, I was just informing others on the DIS who might be waiting for what can be considered a large price drop.

And I've been flying out of MSP for a while now. I know a good deal when I see one. When you get lower $200s on a non stop flight, especially NWA, it's a good deal. Could it be beat later in the year? Maybe. But we all know that the airfare thing is like playing the stock market. Someone here might not want to wait if they thought $216 was acceptable for them.

Zulaya, I agree with you that $216 is a good NW fare for the week you found it. Honestly, I think the lowest NW fare I have ever paid from MSP to MCO was $199 pp, so not that much lower than what you found. We have paid up to $260 pp on NW. Rates have been high, so to see a drop like that is promising. If I was flying out at the end of Oct, I probably would book that fare. Hopefully, someone will be able to take advantage of it!

I noticed yesterday, that there was a $217 RT fare for our upcoming early December trip. If the times were good, I would jump on it. Since they aren't, I'm going to wait a bit.

I'm more than willing to pay $217 RT for a non-stop on NWA. NWA is relatively healthy right now and has many more choices than any of the other airlines if weather causes delays.

I'm very leery of ATA/SWA - ORD & MDW are very busy places (thinking of number of planes that air traffic control has to monitor - the terminals are just fine) and I worry about weather and connections during the time we go. I am also not anxious to be part of the SWA "cattle call" boarding procedures. The price would have to be $150 or less to tempt me and I don't think it will happen. I will keep an eye on it, though, just in case. :)

Best wishes -
