MS taking back resort inventory

I called ms today to book a studio at VWL for 7 nights in October. I was told that the resort was sold out of studios right up to the 11 month booking window.

I told her that I was very suprised and disappointed, I didn't realize how quickly it books.

She told me to hold a minute while she checks the resort, a few minutes later she came back with a room. When I asked her how she got it, she said, I seemed so upset that she called the resort to pull back a room from their inventory.

Does this happen often? I'm new to this and have never heard of this before.

Yes, I've had it happen before. Where they have checked to see if they could do that for me. Sounds like you got some pixie dust there.

I kind of wonder if it has something to do with getting an extremely knowledgeable DVC cast member.

I suspect you were the beneficiary of (as littlestar so eloquently stated) - an extremely knowledgeable DVC cast member.

While it is very possible that all of the member inventory has been reserved for next October for that resort and room type, there are probably some DVC rooms that have been set aside for CRO based on points used by VWL owners for non-DVC options. Since the rooms were set aside, but not yet reserved by CRO, it was a matter of that CM taking the initiative to see if your dates could be placed back into member inventory and those "used-points" reassigned to other dates.

Sometimes, dreams really do come true!

I am going to consider myself very lucky and make sure to call from now on at the 11 month mark.

I had no idea how fast these resorts book.
