Mrs. Darling's June 2010 Accidental PTR: Pirates and Harry Potter 6/30 TR Link posted

I hope you get to keep your 50's ADR. In December, shakes were still included on the dining plan! :thumbsup2

The Prime Time is great. Part of what makes it so fun is the atmosphere and the wait staff. We've had some funny experiences and I've read about some great ones too. I hope you get to go!

Tusker House sounds great! Hopefully you'll be able to keep that ADR.

Amanda
I think we should be able to keep this ADR. The only way we wouldn't would be if my parents wanted to meet us before 9:30 for us to pick up Wendy. Or I suppose if we are too tired to drag ourselves there. I doubt that will happen though. My boys get up with the sun:rolleyes:

I really want to keep this ADR too. It's not until later in the evening so I think we can keep it even if we spend the day with SIL. The only snag might come if they want to eat somewhere with us. Maybe I should see if I could add them on to this one and then if they want to eat with us I'll already have the reservation.

Before I get to the October ADRs I wanted to mention a brief change I made to Day 4. This is our MK day and we had a lunch ADR at Crystal Palace. Well I was reading Shelley and Jen's PTR and they mentioned they were going to Crystal Palace for an early breakfast this day. That got me to thinking (which is a scary thing most of the time:rolleyes1) and I realized we really love that breakfast before park opening. I originally scheduled lunch because I'm trying to try new things this trip. So I asked Michael if he'd rather go to breakfast or lunch with Pooh. He, of course, said breakfast. And then I realized there was no reason to mess with a good thing. So I hopped on the Disney website and checked for a before park breakfast thinking there is no way I'll get one. Well guess what? I did:cool1: So much for trying new things. We'll be back to the tried and true early breakfast at Crystal Palace!:goodvibes

So on to the real subject of this post. I know it seems crazy to be talking about an October trip when my June trip hasn't happened yet, but such is the way of Disney Planning with the 180 day ADR booking window. My 180 day mark is Monday so I'll be up hitting the computer bright and early to get those ressies. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think online booking begins at 6:00 am EST. I actually usually get up around 6:15 to go running, so this isn't too much earlier. I'm just glad I don't live in CA:eek: Anyway in October we are spending 1 night at Shades of Green because the location is convenient to the MK and MNSSHP. Then we are moving over to AKV Kidani for 1 night. I know a very short trip, but since we're going in June and January I have no room for complaining. Anyway since it is just one night at AKV we're planning on the DxDDP:cool2: So that means 3 TS meals. Here is what I'm thinking:
Day 1 Fly in. Arrive at Disney mid afternoon. Check in and then head to MK for the party. We'll just eat CS somewhere this evening (probably my MK favorite Columbia Harbor House).
Day 2 Sleep in a bit (but not too much.) Probably do breakfast at the buffet at Shades of Green. It's relatively inexpensive and pretty good. Then head over to check in to AKV and head to Animal Kingdom late morning. Use our snack credits for lunch this day somewhere in AK (maybe we'll just have choc. chip cookie ice cream sandwiches for lunch:goodvibes) For dinner on Day 2 I'm thinking Saana. It is at our resort so would be very convenient and looks yummy and tad bit exotic. Anyone tried it?
Day 3 Boma Breakfast. We've had dinner here and it was yummy (once again love that juice). I've heard good things about breakfast and since we are at AKV it is convenient. Then we'll head over to Epcot late morning and hopefully get a late lunch at Le Cellier. This is DH's favorite restaraunt at Disney so hopefully we can get in. Plus since we're on the Deluxe Plan we won't even have to pay OOP for the soup;) I'm hoping this won't be impossible to get because I'm going for lunch instead of dinner. Then we'll head to the airport for our flight home.

So I just need to make 3 ADRs for this trip. What do you think? Wish me luck on Monday!

:woohoo: For breakfast at CP!! I wonder if we will run into you? I think we were going there on the same day.

Your October trip sounds great! I love that time of year at Disney. I can't wait until we can go back again.:goodvibes

Your day 7 plans look great to me! I hope you are able to do some of the things you have planned. I am really looking forward to TH--most DISers seem to rave about it. :woohoo: for CP ADR before the park opens. I hope you get the ADRs you want for your October trip.

Good luck on Monday! Your plans sound great! :goodvibes I will be at Disney while you are making those ADRs!!!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great plan to cover most of your meals! :thumbsup2 Good luck getting the ADRs you want! :goodvibes
Thanks for the luck! Hopefully it all goes smoothly.

We'll be at CP at the same time. Like I said I'll keep an eye out for your group (need to study those pictures). If you really are wearing matching shirts I bet you'll be easy to spot. And I'm excited for October at Disney. We've never been there at that time before.

I'm sure we'll get to do at least some of our plan. Question is which part:confused3 We've been to TH before and it is a fun breakfast. That is why I booked it again.

Good luck on Monday! Your plans sound great! :goodvibes I will be at Disney while you are making those ADRs!!!! :thumbsup2
How exciting that your trip is getting so close! I'd definitely rather be at Disney than be making ADRs for Disney!

Your Day 7 plans look great! Tusker House was a lot of fun and the juice was so yummy!!!Hopefully you'll be able to keep it!! :thumbsup2

Sorry, no advice on Primetime. As you know...we pretty much stick to CS at DHS. (Toy Story Pizza Planet:rolleyes:) It sounds like it would be fun though!

Oh and good luck on your ADR's Monday!! I hope you get everything you want!!:thumbsup2 Boma for breakfast? YUM!! We loved it there! :goodvibes

We've always done Pizza Planet too, but this time I'm trying hard to break out. And honestly Pizza Planet is not one I feel too bad leaving behind;) I'm excited about the Boma breakfast. It gets rave reviews!

So the big news for today isMNSSHP tickets are on sale!! And it is official there is a party on the day we are planning on. But the prices:eek: We're planning on the party on the 29th and the tickets are $65 for me, DH and Wendy and $59 for the boys. It is going to be one expensive weekend. Hope it is worth it! So now I have to decide whether to call and get the tickets now or wait a while. What do y'all think?

I say go for it! MNSSHP is sooo much fun! I am glad that the dates worked out for you! You are going to have a blast!!:cool1:

Definitely not an inexpensive weekend event. We are planning it but my in laws might not go because of the cost. They are going to discuss it and get back to us.

On with the plans! Though as previously mentioned this day is actually totally up in the air. I'll tell you what the plans were for Day 7 before we hit the snag of the extra people. Still no word from my mom or sister-in-law about their plans. Honestly I probably won't know what their plans are for another month or so. So until then we'll just pretend that these are the plans for Day 7.

The day will begin at Animal Kingdom where we have a 8:05 ADR at Tusker House. This is an ADR I'm keeping for now, but it could end up getting dropped. I'd like to do it because I love the juice here and I love the characters in their Safari outfits, but we shall see. After we finish breakfast first stop will be the Safari. This is a great ride and the entrance is right next to Tusker House so it will be up first on the agenda. What we do next is pretty open. We will have been here the evening before so I don't imagine we will have any must do's. We may explore the trails, ride Kali River, try to catch Flights of Wonder, or head over to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Or some combination of the above. In our original plan the Disney Family was planning on meeting us here around 10:00, but as has been explained that might not happen. In all likelihood we will leave this park pretty early (like around 10:00) to meet up with Wendy and parents/sister-in-law & kids. I'll be excited to hear the report from the cruise. Then what we do depends on what my sister-in-law wants. My parents will probably be heading to the airport and I'm not sure if everyone else will have park tickets or not. If they do we'll head to the park of their choosing. If not maybe we'll just head back to OKW for a swim. The rest of the day is flexible. I was hoping to head over to Hollywood Studios around 4:30 to try and meet some of the many characters that appear in the Animation Studio around that time on non-Fantasmic nights. Then we have an ADR at 50's Primetime. But that is only for 4 people so I don't know how that will work out. I don't know if my sister-in-law will want to go somewhere else for dinner with all of us. It may be tough to get ADRs for such a large group so late in the process. I guess we shall see. Honestly I'd like to keep this ADR because we've never been and it sounds like a fun place. What are some of your experiences there? So those are the current sort of plans for the day:rolleyes: No matter what we end up doing we'll be in great company (whether it's with my SIL & kids or the Disney family). So I'm sure it will be a great day!

Day 7 sounds good. Great choice for a Tusker Breakfast :thumbsup2 and Animation Studio in the afternoon is cool and maybe some character spotting?

You can't go wrong with what you know and a CP breakfast is always good, esp before park opening :)

Yay for your ADR window on Monday and good luck, I hope you get everything you want :goodvibes

Hmmm, I suppose it depends on how badly you want them. I am more of a get them now kinda girl, not very patient

What did you do last year when they went on sale?

It will be worth it, you'll have a blast!! I don't think there's any danger of that night selling out anytime soon. Unless you just really want them in hand now, I'd wait a few months.

Wow those tickets are expensive!!! I think we paid about $200 for 2 adults and 2 children at MVMCP in December last year...

We'll definitely hit the party! That is the reason for the whole trip!

Definitely not an inexpensive weekend event. We are planning it but my in laws might not go because of the cost. They are going to discuss it and get back to us.
It's a bit hard to swallow the price. Especially considering we will all have APs so it costs us no extra money to visit during regular hours.

Day 7 sounds good. Great choice for a Tusker Breakfast :thumbsup2 and Animation Studio in the afternoon is cool and maybe some character spotting?

I hope the characters are out. I think they come on out non Fantasmic nights so let's hope they don't add a showing at the last minute

We've never been to MNSSHP before. I went to the Pirate & Princess party in '08 and I just bought the tickets about a month ahead of time (which is when I decided to go.) And it's good to see you on the boards, Stefy! I've noticed you've been missing.

It will be worth it, you'll have a blast!! I don't think there's any danger of that night selling out anytime soon. Unless you just really want them in hand now, I'd wait a few months.
I'm with you. I think I'll wait a bit. Hold on to the money a bit longer. And at those prices maybe we will get lucky and the night won't sell out at all! Though I'll definitely buy the tickets well before we arrive.

Wow those tickets are expensive!!! I think we paid about $200 for 2 adults and 2 children at MVMCP in December last year...

Amanda
They seemed pricey to me too. There are 2 days they are demanding super prices, the 29th and 31st. Oh well. I can dream that it will keep the crowds away:laughing:

Those prices seem high to me too! But, the only time we've purchased event tickets like that was for the Pirate and Princess Party a couple of years ago. I'm sure it'll be worth it, though. :thumbsup2
